The " T-pain For Real Meal " is a limited time offer and honestly I wish they never made it. The main issue is with the chicken bites. The chicken bites were just horrible, like I had to spit them out because it was just seasoning that you taste. I had others try it too just incase I was exaggerating but they spit them out too. That's the main thing but the sandwich was also a little soggy because of the barbecue sauce. The common theme with this meal is the barbecue taste and it honestly ruined the food. Got chicken tenders meal and mozz sticks, they gave me the wrong sauce for their crap tenders, some of which were more sized like a nugget. I also got 6 mozz sticks, and 2 apple pies. It's pretty hard to mess up mozzarella sticks so no comment there. The Apple pies were SUPER good! The corporate owned Checkers at 1298 SW Gatlin Blvd, PSL 34987 is stealing from customers on a regular basis. I have been seven times to document what I am about to write. I order a #4 value meal for $6.49 and when I pay it costs over $8. The marquee has nothing about medium or large. Sometimes they ask if I want medium or large. I am never given the option (other than the marquee) to buy a small. If I say I want what is on the marquee they upsize it anyhow. at the pay window I can then complain and hold up the line or park and go back for a refund. On the third visit I asked the employee at the pay window if they are all trained to upsize every meal. The employee did not speak but smiled and nodded yes. I went 4 more times to document that this is true. This is not a franchise. This Checkers is corporate, and they are forcing this behavior on their employees. I had specific conversations with the manager, and she apologized for the mistake. It is not a mistake. It is trained and intentional and has happened on each of my seven visits. This is not about food. It's about integrity. What else are they cheating on to make an extra buck? read more

I love their French Fries and spicy chicken burger! The French Fries are seasoned well of sweet potatos. Although once in a while a little indulgence will not kill you as one needs to live life! This location is drive-through only. I would come here often in a past life of adult times as my former love is a native Long Islander. Host cashier! Made 2 orders and order number was Ds228. Okay first off I came through the drive through here and orders some food and I clearly asked for a 5 piece for my wife of boneless wings. By the time I got to the window to pay I changed a order I asked for other than the boneless wings. And then the rudeness of this young woman began. Last night we pulled into the 2598 E Bearss Ave East, Tampa, FL 33613 Checkers drive thru around 1am. We pulled up to review the menu and waited for someone to greet us and take our order. After waiting there for about five minutes, we decided to speak up to see if anyone was there. We were then greeted by the gentleman who was taking orders as he said, "I will take your order as soon as you all decide to shut up". Our entire car was in disbelief, but we sat there for another 10 minutes, as cars were lining up behind us out the driveway. We then drove up to the window and still received no service. Never been here? You have to make the trip out here. I love this place!! This place has two drive-up windows to order, or you can walk inside the small facility to order at a small window. There are about 5-7 bar stool chairs inside and 4-5 picnic tables outside. My favorites: 1) Double bacon cheeseburger 2) Spicy chicken sandwich 3) Amazing seasoned fries with the perfect crisp and potatoeness inside. It can also be ordered with cheese and/or chili. This place usually has specials that change every so often. 2 for $4-$5. The most recent was 2 for $4, (philly cheesesteaks with a hamburger patty), or 2 for $5 (philly cheesesteaks with two hamburger patties). The philly cheesesteak was OUT OF THIS WORLD! They need to put this on their menu permanently. I'm drooling just thinking about this place. If anyone asks me to go here, I'll be there in a hearbeat! read more

It is convenient because it is right inside of the shopping center, near home depot and other stores. Good things: 1. Drive up window -in a hurry? No need to stop and park. 2. Parking? Yes, there is a ton of parking here in the shopping center parking lot and right next to Checkers. 3. Their packaging is awesome , the checkers ! Usually the checkers restaurant has the large CHECKER type umbrellas on their few tables. (This one is mostly drive-up). 5. TWO drive up lanes, not one , like in most places. You can drive up left or right and still be served. Watch out. If you drive up alone, make sure you take the lane that has the window at the driver's side, not the passenger's side. When driving up with friends, either side words good for you. 6. Their burgers are good and so are the soft-drinks. 7. There is only one negative statement that I can make about Checkers - it's on Long Island and I am in Brooklyn. Although, that is probably beneficial to my wasteline! Checkers may seem like your average fast food restaurant but surely it is not. Can you get Chili Cheese Fries at Burger King or McDonalds?? I think not. Checkers offers chili and cheese on just about everything, including their hot dogs which you also will not find at other burger oriented fast food joints. The fries are seasoned and delicious with or without any additions. The menu features a wide array of burgers. Whether you like it with bacon or cheese or both there is something for you. They have chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches and even a BLT. I have eaten the burgers, chicken and hot dogs - which have never let me down. The drive-thru has two sides so you never have to wait too long. This is not to say that I have ever driven up to find the place without a line. The service is quick and they are open late. The prices are very low and even if you only have a few dollars in your pocket, you can eat good at Checkers. But wait, found yourself without cash?? Checkers is a regular drive in spot. Nothing special. If I eat there i will get the spicy chicken sandwich with the season fries. They usually have different specials for the sandwiches every month so you just have to just stop in a see. Indulging in junk food is not always a good thing but if you're living in a "YOLO" lifestyle, it's OK once in a while. Checkers Drive-In takeout can be that once in a while guilt-free junk food meal. Their Bacon Roadhouse Burger, Philly Cheese Chicken, Philly Cheese Steak and Fully Loaded Fries are good enough to increase your triglycerides back to bad levels. Even though I didn't get to taste the burger or steak (but did ate a fry or two), I can imagine how good they can be by son's reaction...oh well... As most yelpers stated that the drive-in is in a questionable area. It's in a shopping center with a Home Depot, Marshalls and Applebees, so it's not that bad. 2 stars for the location. 5 stars for the Checkers franchise and food. Checkers is awesome. It has great food that surpasses the McDonalds and Burger Kings that mindless zombies goes too, it's cheap as dirt, and the service is speedy and decent. This particular Checkers however, while its the closest one to us, is at a gritty and questionable neighborhood. If you live around the Valley Stream area and you have a craving for delicious meaty treats that only Checkers can fulfill try going to the Baldwin, Hempstead, or East Meadow ones. This unkempt crackhead looking woman went up to my bf and started talking to him. My bro-in-law had seen her dancing in front of Checkers when we were parking.
