Hot Chicken
Gracie G.

Decided to try their new hot chicken. The flavoring was strong with just the right amount of spice although a bit too salty. Some of the pieces were more like nuggets rather than tenders. The fries were super dry and tasted stale. Definitely was disappointed. When opening the box, it didn't seem appetizing.

Okay so they sold us moldy food lmao it was from the 3 piece combo food poisoning much. They don't like female customers idk why especially the women in the front counter that likes to help out the men before women. My advice? Don't order unless you want to end up hospitalized because if you're gonna charge for moldy food you have no business staying open.

a box of fried chicken and a biscuit

The deal of 4 for $4 is pretty good for a quick bite or small meal. It includes 3 pieces of chickens and 1 piece of biscuit. The chickens are freshly made for my order so they taste very good and juicy. The spicy one is a little salty to me though. The service is quick and the guy works so diligent to get the order ready. It is quite busy in Sunday afternoon so it took a while to get our order. They serve halal chicken and the store is located in the community of people consume halal food so maybe it explains the busyness. Overall, the experience is decent.

Sad chicken tenders

THE SERVICE SUCKS.... I ordered chicken tenders and the slice is so tiny and it looks just like a regular nuggets. I complained and the employees just laughed at me and gave me the eye. This is SAD. $13.49 if you want large size and the chicken tenders is so TINY never again DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

Tex's Seafood Delight

Tried this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I know it's specialty is chicken but I got the seafood meal, for only $6.50 (after tax) you get crab cakes, fish, coleslaw, crumbed prawns and fries. The mini crab cakes were delicious, the fries were nice and crunchy (well drained of oil and fresh), the coleslaw also had a good texture (fresh) and I was amply supplied with tartare sauce. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the pieces of fish, which was mostly batter and tasted like the generic assortment straight out of the frozen foods section at your local supermarket. Otherwise very happy with the value for money. They have a lot of great promotions on at the moment and a menu with great variety. This surprisingly spacious, there's a second area to the restaurant that is all seating, the restaurant has very well adhered to social distancing requirements and looks very clean. ** advice to those ordering off of uber eats, if you're in the area you are better off going in person. For the exact same meal I ordered today for $6.50, I saw for $10.99 (BEFORE tax). Happy eating all! Stay safe :)

We were greeted with a complimentary popcorn, which was delicious! The waiter was also incredibly attentive to our table and made sure to check on us occasionally. The ambiance is dim, kind of like a bar restaurant without too much noise. It's a great spot for a date night out. We ordered 20 pieces of wings, half with soy garlic and the other half with mango habanero, tteok-Bokki (with cheese) and truffle fries. I personally do not handle spice very well, however the mango habanero was surprisingly good and not too spicy. In my opinion, I thought the tteok-bokki was spicier but not too spicy to the point where I couldn't take a second bite. Although I have been to many other Mad for Chicken chains before, this is my first time in the Forest Hills location and also my first time publishing a review for this restaurant. I would totally come back!

Great value too (for $50 you can get a family combo that includes a variety of sandwiches, wraps, wings, A WHOLE CHICKEN, fries, nuggets, cheese sticks, and a large soda!). Seriously, don't sleep on the espresso drinks... you can save a few "bucks" by coming here instead and supporting this small business (hehe, see what I did there?). Clean indoor seating is available (small tables that fit about 4 adults). The girl at the counter is always super sweet. My toddler likes her a lot and wants to play with her and visit every so often. The food across the board is delicious. I have pretty much tried everything here except a few of the appetizers and the pistol legs. The only item that I don't particularly like is the pumpkin pie, while it's tasty and has a nice texture I don't really taste any pumpkin. I hope this place stays open would really be a good staple and some added variety to the restaurants available in the few blocks of stores located in this section of 108 street.

The calamari and fries were fried perfectly. Didnt feel greasy or soggy like most places. 5/5 would definitely order again with a group a friends. The korean fried chicken at this location is better than their sunnyside locstion and even mad for chicken. Quality here tastes better and cleaner than all other kfc places in the area(take out menu says customers can tour kitchen to check their cleanliness). This is my go-to korean fried chicken spot and I'm surprised it doesn't receive more business during the week. Parking might be slightly inconvenient, but usually I can find a spot relatively easily.

What a neighborhood GEM!! Kuku Korean was fantastic! Fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices!…read more We (6 of us) were in the neighborhood for a Valentine's Day celebration and searched Yelp for a good ethnic restaurant in the area. We came across Kuku Korean and said YESSS, this is the place to go! The only wrench in our plans was that Kuku Korean doesn't take reservations; not even on Valentine's Day! They warned us that they expected to be very busy that evening, and to expect a wait. Ok, we made plans to go, but also made a Resy with another restaurant close by, as a backup plan in case there was a long wait for a table. But really, Kuku Korean was our preferred first choice. After our V Day event, we rushed over to Kuku Korean to see what the wait time was for a table for 6. It was just after 6pm, and the stars were aligned for us, because we got the last large table available! Woo Hoooo! Happy Valentine's Day to us!! We quickly cancelled our Resy with the other restaurant (sorry!) and perused Kuku Korean's fabulous menu. Our MENU (shared by 6ppl): ~ Seafood Pajeon ($24/large): Crispy battered pancake made with green onions & seafood (mussels, clams, squid, and shrimp). This was phenomenal! So much seafood and such a comforting dish...get this! ~ Veg Japche ($21): Stir-fried Korean vermicelli with Kuku soy-garlic Japchae sauce and assorted veggies. This dish was also available with various proteins but we opted for Veg since we were ordering other meat dishes. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. ~ Kuku Bibimbap ($24): Seasoned vegetables over rice, topped with a fried egg. Served with Kuku spicy bibim sauce. Again, you have the option of adding protein to this dish but we kept it veg. Another great dish! ~ Pork Galbi ($28): Char-grilled Pork ribs marinated in Kuku sauce, served with sauteed onions. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. The pork was cut in thick slices, which was surprising, but wow, this was phenomenal! So tasty and lean, and just delicious. ~ Beef Bulgogi ($33): Sauteed thinly sliced beef rib-eye marinated in Kuku sauce with mushroom, Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. Another phenomenal dish. Bursting with flavor. -- Spicy Squid ($28): Stir-fried squid in spicy Kuku gochujang sauce, onions, hot pepper and carrot. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. This squid was prepared perfectly; not over cooked nor rubbery! Great dish. - Ban Chan: generous unlimited servings; fresh & delicious. These 6 dishes, plus Ban Chan was perfect for 6 ppl to share. We finished everything and were fully satisfied. Every single dish was delicious and we ALL said we wanted to return to Kuku Korean to repeat some dishes and try new dishes. Customer service and atmosphere were great. The busser staff did an amazing job and were even more attentive than our server (who we only saw twice)...kudos to the bussers! They were so hard working, with a smiling, friendly attitude! Give them a raise! Looking forward to a return visit to Kuku Korean...hopefully SOON!!

When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see a **$2 charge for the ketchup**. At no point were we informed that there would be an extra charge. Not only was the lack of transparency frustrating, but this is also the **first restaurant in my adult life** that has charged for ketchup with an order of fries. It's not about the $2--it's about the principle. Charging for a basic condiment without letting customers know beforehand feels petty and leaves a bad impression. We genuinely liked this place, but this experience has made us rethink whether we'll be coming back.

This place is extremely overpriced for no reason. We got the rosé tteokbokki and it was around $30…read more The base tteokbokki is around $19, if you want rosé flavor, its an extra $6 and we added on ramen which was an extra $3. Tteokbokki is considered street food and its literally rice & fish cakes. And they give you 3 pieces of ginmari. No reason it should be $19. Then for rosé flavor, which is literally just adding heavy cream to the sauce, is an extra $6. Then we ordered the 10 wing + 5 drumstick combo and we asked for half/half sauce assuming half of the 15 pieces are one sauce and the second half is another sauce. First off, they charge you $2 for sauce, which is fine but tell me why they charged us $2 FOUR times. So $8 total for sauce bc they separated the 10 wings into 5 and 5 and put one sauce each and they charged $2 each for that. And then they separated the 5 drumsticks into 3 and 2 and put one sauce each and charged $2 each for that. So total for 10 wings & 5 drumsticks was around $44. I've literally been to every korean fried chicken place on northern blvd and never have they separated the chicken like that and charged the sauces that way. Like why are you charging us for sauce 4 times when it is one single order of chicken. Never coming back here. Its a legit rip off. On top of that, they charge you for to-go containers, which is free at every restaurant. They just charge you exorbitant prices for literally every single thing here. We spent $85, not including tip, on tteokbokki, 15 pc of chicken & an order of fries.
