I like Checker's. Always have. Yes the prices increase but they do everywhere else too. The big buford is a good deal and i love the fries. The fish sandwich is good as well and the bargains like 2 for 4 and 2 for 5 are a great deal. Totally didn't expect such a large drink. No complaint though, i drank it all. Really good shakes. We went because we had amazing coupons come in the mail last weekend. We decided to drive there one Saturday around 8pm, I enjoy late dinners on the weekends. So we go and order, our coupon was for 4 chicken sandwiches and 2 small fries for 5.99. I show the lady the coupon and we ask for a side of ketchup and two drinks. After we got the bag of food I checked the bag and made sure all the sandwiches and fries were there, but the drinks were missing and so was the ketchup, that we were charged for. We went back to get it and they said we never told them about ketchup, when it said so on the receipt... We were also charged for soda that we didn't get, that they tried to dispute. It wasn't busy, there were 2 other customers there in the drive-thru, we parked and walked up to the window. They hardly knew any english. The food tasted good though, but it's along the likes of similar fast-food chains. I wouldn't mind going again since we have all those coupons, don't wanna put them to waste! I ordered the 2 for $5 bacon cheddar crisps. Just ketchup pickles and bacon, no cheese. First of all, My order came out with cheese on both burgers. Secondly, when we went back to the window to have them fix it because THEY MESSED UP, they made me pay for the two new burgers. Lastly, and definitely not least, got home and took a bite out of one of them and bit into a long black hair that was in the middle of the burger. (Not my own hair, my hair is brown.) My go to for good fries. Every time I come here, it seems like they make my fries fresh. I don't mind the slightly longer wait because the quality is definitely worth the wait. The staff occasionally make mistakes, but they're never rude and immediately try to fix the situation. read more

Beware of Bugs No words for my experience I bought 2 Baconzilla's and two soft drinks, 1 sprite and 1 orange soda. The problem is that the sprite was drank and when finish open to eat the ice and there were bugs in the cup. I am telling my story so that anyone that eats at this bug place will be cautious and will check everything before eating. Not sure if the hamburgers were infested with bugs because they were eaten. The person who gave the sodas at checkout knew something was wrong from the look on her face but gave them out anyway instead of throwing the cups away. Sprint is clear and no way you cannot see that the bugs were in the cup. DON'T DO IT!!!! read more

Today I had one of the worst experiences of my life at this Checkers location in Manassas. I had ordered my food at the drive thru with my 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter. I had ordered 2 meals, one ice cream cone, funnel cake fries, and an extra burger. After reciveing my food I parked in the parking lot to start eating. I then noticed the extra cheeseburger I ordered was missing. My 14 year old took the receipt and went to the window to ask for the missing burger. I could see my son from the car standing there for 15 minutes waiting for the missing burger. I called him and asked what was a taking to long. He then told me the manager told him that she had to review the video cameras to make sure they gave us the burger or not. So I went to the window and asked the manager what was going on. The manager then told me that she reviewed the video and that she had given us the burger even though we never received it. I then told her again that we never received the burger and that she needed to prove it since she was the one with the camera. I also told her that I want my money back for the extra burger after the way she treated me and my family. She then said no and that she would give me the burger but would not give me my money. After 20 minutes of arguing back and forth. She decided to give me my money back for the burger. My son was treated this way because he is black. As a parent you try to teach your kids to do the right thing and be a good example, and then this happens. I am sad, frustrated,and confused. read more

I don't usually write reviews. As someone who used to Be a fast food manager I am going to tell you, your service today was completely unacceptable. Not only did I have to switch drive through boxes after saying hello 10 times, the person taking the order could not speak English well enough for the average person to understand. Did not read my total. That could have been excused except for the fact that after receiving my food and leaving the drive through, the cheese on my Burger was ice cold like it just came out of the fridge. The meat was under cooked. And there was no straw to be found in my bag leaving me unable to wash down the taste of the poor excuse you call food. It's noon on a Saturday, as a former manager this is completely unacceptable. Good job at earning your way to the bottom of my list for fast food place to eat for next time!!! read more

So far, I have no bad news to report. Trust me, Burger King has shown me how bad customer service and food can get. However, my multiple experiences with the drive thru have been fairly good and consistent. They got me in and out of the drive thru in under 2 minutes, which is faster than any McDonald's or BK (yuck) that I have ever gone to. (Have I mentioned Burger King is horrible?) The food is good (no food poisoning yet) and so far the cashier hasn't infiltrated my soul with her menacing, swiping hands. Just kidding, so far all of the employees I have talked to have either been very pleasant or neutral - courteous but not someone you could really ever talk to. Another great thing about Checkers in general, not just this one: the back of every receipt has a quick 5 minute survey that gets you a free sandwich (any sandwich) with the purchase of a drink. Meaning, you can get a meal (without the fries, that is) for about $2.50 and a couple minutes of your time. Much cheaper and better than Burger King, and I'm Having it My Way. And honestly guys, shuttup about the drinks already - not just people here, but every other fast food reviewer ever. If you don't want 80% ice and 20% soda, either: A) ask for no or little ice if you don't mind it not being all n-ice and watery or B) ask for no ice and ask for a separate cup of ice - the places we have tried this at so far have been accommodating. I went there just for an ice cream cone. It took 11 minutes for them to take my payment and finally give me the cone. It was completely melted and when I got it in the car it spilled all over my lap. I got out and asked for a refund and showed them the completely melted (and spilled on my shorts) ice cream. Not one apology, not one word. She just handed me my money and walked away. I am giving these guys 5 stars because of their customer service. We ordered food and got home to find out we didn't have the right stuff. I called Checkers and the manager, Destiny, apologized and asked that I come in and she would correct everything. I went back and she took care of our order with no problem. Destiny is very pleasant to deal with. No hassles and we'll be back. We do love their chili dogs and fries. Actualy no stars for this hell hole. The bun was stale now if you are a burger joint then the least you can do is have freish buns. The drinks are 80% ice and the service is horrible if they even understand what you are saying. Last time I went to a Checkers was probably 20 years ago and I remember thinking that the burgers were pretty good - much better than Wendys, McDonalds or even Burger King. Wow - was I in for a surprise. Did they change the way they cook them? They advertise "seared" and "grilled" but what I got was a burger with two flavorless grey patties with no sear or grill marks at all. Just a soggy, greasy, mess. And the fries . . . are breaded! Really. If you use good, fresh, potatoes and season and fry them properly, why would you want to bread them? The food was actually worse than McDonalds and cost a lot more. Used to go here at least twice a week but never will again after today. For some reason my normal meal order went up $4 and you know have to pay 39 cents a pack for sauce! They just conveniently forget to list the new sauce charge at the speaker though, the sign isnt until the window so after you order you feel obligated to pay to the stupid fee for a teaspoon of sauce. Hate to say it but after placing our order, we saw the sign on the window notifying customers of the new charge for sauce, we just drove off and went somewhere else. Two meals plus sauce now will run you in the neighborhood of $20 which is rediculous for mediocre fast food (or any fast food for that matter). This particular franchise has steadily gone downhill and it's obvious the owner is having money issues. 39 cents doesnt seem like a lot but when you break it down, the daily sauce sales will cover 3 or 4 employees daily pay. Hopefully this one tanks like one over on 28 did a few years back, maybe they will put a less greedy, better managed establishment in its place.
