So this establishment was recommended by a good friend of mine. He had mentioned that it was the best burger he ever tasted. I went with him to give it a try, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. Service was good but the hamburger you get really reminded me of the Kirkland frozen hamburger patties that you get at Costco (hmmm... I wonder). The burgers were overcooked, dry and hard and strangely perfectly circular and flat exactly like the ones you find at Costco. The french fries were underwhelming, limp, and soggy. The chili on top of the fries tasted exactly like Hormel chili out of a can. One good thing the place had going for it it was in a very scenic part of Manassas. This place used to be amazing but has gone down hill fast. Our burgers arrived dry and smaller than advertised. My burger wasn't even warm to the point where the cheese was still cold and didn't melt. The fries were burned. I could have made better burgers at home and saved myself $50. The staff was dismissive and rude. For example I ordered a full size fry and when the orders arrived and my husbands half order of fries was larger than mine I brought it to the servers attention and he dismissed it. Fosters Grille is a decent spot. I do think they have good burgers and chicken sandwiches. Are they anywhere, that can change the planets axis? No. Yet this basic concept, works for when in town. I do like that this is close to the parking garage, old town is nice, and the trains can be seen from here. Service is as usual excellent. The fries were a bit soggy. I used to love them, so am not sure what's causing this. They seemed more greasy too. As for the location, nice folks and a clean place. All of the employees were very friendly, and if in the area, this could be a pick for those who are looking for a regular type of meal. My cousin, my daughter, and I stopped in after visiting the holiday market. My daughter and I had never been, but my cousin assured us we would not be disappointed. The day was cold and the thought of hot burgers and fries was a welcoming thought. When we stepped inside, there was a welcoming atmosphere. To order, you have to get a paper menu, fill out what you want, and then take it to the cashier. Two cashiers met us at the front and immediately made sure our order was what we wanted and how we wanted it. We were given our cups for the fountain sodas and found a table. There were college football games on the two TVs near our table. I asked if one of the TVs could be changed to a particular game, but I was told a manager had to do that. A manager ended up coming to our table to ask how everything was - great! And then I asked if a TV could be changed. I was asked if there was a preference on which TV be changed - no. It was college rivalry weekend and I take college football seriously so I wanted to catch this game. About the food, the burger I got was delicious and flavorful! The portion of fries was generous and it was a half basket. My daughter got a basket and had to take some home because it was a lot! She said her burger was really good, too. I had a burger craving and thankfully Foster's did not disappoint! I had the Olde Fashioned Charburger with mayo, onions, and mushrooms, and subbed the side of fries for onion rings. The burger itself was nice and juicy, and the onion rings were fresh out of the fryer. Staff was friendly and I loved the ambiance as well. The price is a bit steep (over $40 for two combos with add-ons) but I would definitely come back. Only reason why it isn't a 5-star rating was the overwhelming smell of bleach. I ordered a full basket of fries to go and the wait was all of about 3 minutes until the fries met me on the counter. Not much else report, customer service was so so but not horrible. The fries were well cooked. The lemonade was refreshing although it was a fountain Minute Made lemonade. I thought it was going to be a fresh-squeezed lemonade. I got a cup and helped myself to water from the fountain, which had a strong, detectable taste of mildew. I assume the machine has not been thoroughly cleaned for a while, and that is bothersome. I would give them zero stars if I could because that's how much food I ended up with - zero!!!! Ordered two char burgers, wings, and a big basket of fries today online and then walked into old town to pick it up. There was a line at the cash register so I went to the bar and tried to get someone's attention to check on my order to pick it up after about 30 minutes. I was there 10 minutes waiting at the bar and not a single person to asked to help me or see if I needed anything. Not a single one of them. I finally get someone's attention to check on my order and after they look into it, realize that no one checked the online order queue during the lunch hour and so they hadn't even started on my large order and that it would be 30 minutes for them to start the order now. I told them to cancel the order immediately. I really didn't appreciate the fact that no one asked to help me, that they really didn't seem to care about customer service or doing a good job after completely screwing up my order, and that they will continue to offer terrible customer service and obviously need a manager who knows what they're doing to try and run the place for the better. Very disappointed and won't be back until they hire some people to work there who know what they're doing. read more

They have a mean burger with all your favorite toppings (that you get to customize! on their trusty order slip) and a choice of sides such as fries, salad, or onion rings. They also have a nice selection of local and craft brews which are fairly priced with even better happy hour prices. They have counter seating, high chairs for two, outdoor seating, and tables for larger groups in the back. They even have a small game room where our group hung out for lunch. Foster's was exactly what we needed for all of us after a long day. With not a lot of people at the place, our food did take a little bit but it came out piping hot and fresh. I don't know where to start. I was interested in this place because the menu looked good and it seems like this place makes great food. I was wrong. When I first walked in, I enjoyed the old antique license plates that were hung on the walls. These license plates are from different states and each were customized. For some reason, the first thing that came to mind that this is a sports bar. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries and a drink ($9.25) and my boyfriend ordered the Olde Fashioned Charburger with fries and a drink ($9.75). The bun easily tore off and didn't taste right and my chicken seemed like I was eating naked tenders. It wasn't even a full piece of chicken. The fries were soggy as if it was laid out for quite a while. The food overall wasn't served hot, but rather served warm. Besides the food, the employees were all friendly and nice. I'm not sure why the food was served and prepared the way it did, but it wasn't up to par. I'd like to come back to give them another try. We were in Manassas for a wedding and bride/groom did their brunch with family at Foster's. It was great. Great for groups since each person can pay for their own order. No frills. Arcade games. The rude staff made sure Foster's Grill Manassas would not be getting my business. I was a first time customer. I have heard the burgers are great. We walked in and it smelled amazing. I couldn't wait. When we walked in, no greeting, no hello, nothing. We didn't know if we had to be seated first or of we just go to the bar area. We decide to go to the bar area. The girl at the counter just looks at us. No greeting or smile. And she continues wiping whatever it was she was wiping. The other gentlemn at the counter turned away from us to continue his task. I finally start to order, and the girl at he counter just blinks at me then rolls her eyes. Since I'm obviously annoying her, I said: "sorry, we've never been here before. Do we order with you?" She ends sliding this pad of paper towards and starts mumbling about it while pointing at different things. Then she sets a pencil down infront of me before she turns away to continue wiping. She was so rude and it was such an awkward experience. We lost my appetite for Fosters and we left. I clearly looked like this was my first visit. Instead of being greeted with a smile and some help of how to order or what she recommends, we were met with a rude and snobby cashier who treated us like we were a burden interrupting her day. The Foster's Grille Garden burger is SO GOOD. They really get it right with the patty, and I order it every time. The fries also come out piping hot, and they have tons of drinks to choose from, including shakes. I love that they have ample indoor seating and they have outdoor seating as well. You choose what you want on your burger (they have salad, chili and wings too!), place your order and take a seat. Your food is brought right to you and also taken away from you once you're done. Foster's Grille is sitting in a premium location in downtown Manassas. Time for some updates to your restaurant decor! It was dark and uninviting inside. We choose to eat outdoors and our table rocked back and forth as we ate. My cheeseburger took about 20 minutes, only to come well overcooked and dry. It had good flavor from being charbroiled, but lacked basic seasoning and juiciness. Fries were hot and appeared fresh cut. My milkshake was served with a spoon, not a straw, so that was my first clue that it was ice creme in a cup. Dining outdoors is by the historic train station and was nice The staff was welcoming. For a burger joint, it's hard to beat in Old Town Manassas. This is a regional franchise that doesn't really feel like one. Each one is unique and has a different floor plan. Directly across the street from the open air pavilion where they host the farmers market, craft fairs and musical events. Just next to the historic Manassas train station. Best to order your food and sit outside and enjoy the weather on a sunny day. On the weekends the Amtrak cruises by right on time everyday at 1230p. They have a great burger, decent fries and sweet tea. read more

So, now I can say I've eaten at both Manassas locations. This is the one that's literally across from the train station so it's really convenient for any traveler or commuter. This one I think is better than the one off of Route 28. Personally I feel it looks better and has a better feel to its customers. This time I got the boneless BBQ wings and fries. Wings are great. No skimping on the sauce and were very easy to eat. Fries this time were better too. Not heavily salted and I didn't feel like a slob afterwards (despite nailing myself with sauce due to a botched eating of a wing). I would gladly return here for another visit. Since I already know how their burgers are (nice burger), I would not be opposed to getting either a burger or wings here. Now it's onto the milkshakes to try here, but at least I can count on them doing a good job for a burger and wings. Thank you! read more
