Charburger 1/4lb. with a half Basket of Fries
Jennie D.

My cousin, my daughter, and I stopped in after visiting the holiday market. My daughter and I had never been, but my cousin assured us we would not be disappointed. The day was cold and the thought of hot burgers and fries was a welcoming thought. When we stepped inside, there was a welcoming atmosphere. To order, you have to get a paper menu, fill out what you want, and then take it to the cashier. Two cashiers met us at the front and immediately made sure our order was what we wanted and how we wanted it. We were given our cups for the fountain sodas and found a table. There were college football games on the two TVs near our table. I asked if one of the TVs could be changed to a particular game, but I was told a manager had to do that. A manager ended up coming to our table to ask how everything was - great! And then I asked if a TV could be changed. I was asked if there was a preference on which TV be changed - no. It was college rivalry weekend and I take college football seriously so I wanted to catch this game. About the food, the burger I got was delicious and flavorful! The portion of fries was generous and it was a half basket. My daughter got a basket and had to take some home because it was a lot! She said her burger was really good, too. We will definitely make our way back here if we find ourselves back In Manassas!

Fosters Grille is a decent spot. I do think they have good burgers and chicken sandwiches. Are they anywhere, that can change the planets axis? No. Yet this basic concept, works for when in town. I do like that this is close to the parking garage, old town is nice, and the trains can be seen from here. Service is as usual excellent. The fries were a bit soggy. I used to love them, so am not sure what's causing this. They seemed more greasy too. As for the location, nice folks and a clean place. All of the employees were very friendly, and if in the area, this could be a pick for those who are looking for a regular type of meal. There are times when that is appropriate, and this is a decent value overall.

The food was too good. I forgot to take a picture before we gobbled know it all down.

Today was my first day out with my husband after his stroke, and he picked Fosters. I'm so glad he did. Everything was wonderful from the cold beer, to the excellent burger to the massive chicken sandwich to the onion rings. Emily was our server and she was so sweet and amazing when I asked her to go box she brought a bag too. It's the little things that make a difference. We will definitely be back.

Olde Fashioned Charburger

I had a burger craving and thankfully Foster's did not disappoint! I had the Olde Fashioned Charburger with mayo, onions, and mushrooms, and subbed the side of fries for onion rings. The burger itself was nice and juicy, and the onion rings were fresh out of the fryer. Staff was friendly and I loved the ambiance as well. The price is a bit steep (over $40 for two combos with add-ons) but I would definitely come back. Only reason why it isn't a 5-star rating was the overwhelming smell of bleach. We would've sat outside to avoid the smell but it was over 90 degrees at the time so it really wasn't an option.

I was only here for the fries!!! Stopped in here after visiting the coffee shop nearby. I ordered a full basket of fries to go and the wait was all of about 3 minutes until the fries met me on the counter. Not much else report, customer service was so so but not horrible. The young lady who helped me was very short and matter of fact when taking my order. I mean, I know I only ordered fries but that should not have determined the level of customer service I received. Location was clean with plenty of seating along the window and in the back. If you enter from the side, watch your step or you'll break your ankle from the drastic drop. Reading is fundamental, they have signs posted.

Burger and a side of fries. Friendly staff. Big juicy burger with fresh toppings. I got lettuce, tomato, onion pickles and bacon on my burger.

Elementary school cafeteria food.

Food was tasty yet, it would have been better if the hamburger wasn't luke warm. The fries & onion rings were hot.

After checking in, we were quickly guided upstairs to a cozy, rounded booth--an intimate and perfect spot for two. Our server, Katie, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest when helping us choose between dishes. We started with the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, paired with the Black Sheep Mule and a watermelon cocktail (wish I remembered the name!). For our mains, we ordered the short rib rigatoni and the steak bulgogi bowl. To finish, we shared the weekly dessert special: an Earl Grey tres leches. Everything was exactly what I hoped for and more. The starters were standout, the entrees were packed with flavor, and the overall aesthetic of the space was just beautiful. We'll definitely be back--next time for brunch!

It was also my first time at The Black Sheep but I had always heard wonderful things - all of which turned out to be true. The loft area is beautiful and overlooks the entire restaurant. Also when you reserve the loft, which holds up to 16 people, you order off the regular menu. I loved this as other places I checked into were much more restrictive with a higher minimum spend and fixed menus for groups larger than 8. We had 12 in our group. We started with a bunch of appetizers for the table and cocktails. Appetizers included the bacon tower, fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy chicken wings, and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. Dinner entreés were jambalaya pasta, the American wagyu burger, pulled short rib rigatoni and branzino almondine. There were zero complaints. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!! The bourbon butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert literally took me over the top. My belly was ready to burst :) Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire time and everything we ordered came out perfect. I must go back soon. It is a distance from where I live but there's so many things on the fabulous menu I want to try.

The atmosphere is a chic whiskey/cigar bar esthetic (not actually for cigars)... warm tones of yellow and leather with brown leather throughout! The food is absolutely immaculate in presentation and taste... every ingredient is perfectly combined with intentionality and nuance. The fries are crisp... the sourdough bread freshly baked and cut to the perfect width. The coleslaw might be the best coleslaw I've ever had... not too much mayo or overly sweet... perfect crunch. The Birria grilled cheese is intensely rich and the pickled red onions are essential... I wish there was far more on the plate. It's the essential acidity that will break up the richness. Take a few with each bite. The fish is fried to absolute perfection... light and crisp and the batter was not too heavy... absolutely golden in color and light and crisp on every bite. You'll need to spritz the lemon for the acidity. My wife loved the fried pickles (frickles?!)... and we will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu!

When we arrived, our server, Nick, ask us whether we were first timers and we said we were. He explained the concept of a table top tavern to us and helped us select a game to play while we waited for dinner. I ordered the Captain Horatio, hamburger double smash patty and my wife ordered the Monte Cristo. The burger was delicious, and the onions and sauce made it something special. The Monte Cristo was flavorful and so big that she could only eat half along with the sweet potato fries that came with it. For dessert, my wife had ice cream, and I had their cheesecake. The cheesecake was as good as any I have tasted. I strongly suggest that you make your way to old town, Manassas and visit Crossroads often. There are nightly game nights and other events that will surely make this a place that I will return to time and time again.

We ordered the trio combo (Beg Wot, Doro Wot, Tibs). We were able to add a fourth which meant the portions were a bit smaller. Our fourth item was the Tuna Kitfo. I wasn't a huge fan of the kitfo, because I love the traditional beef version. However, my friend loved it. I enjoyed all the other items. It really did give me authentic Ethiopian vibes. A must try if you're in the area.
