I am late posting this review but better late than never. I was looking to have two fans installed - one in our living room and one in the bedroom. Checo Electric came in with a competitive bid and was extremely responsive when I had additional questions. I hired them and we scheduled an appointment and they showed up a few minutes early which was refreshing. Carlos and his staff were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Requested a quote via Yelp's "Projects" setting for a new ceiling fan installation and they responded with an estimate. Scheduled service within one week, electrician arrived 15min early (which is great) to the time window. Very friendly, courteous, and worked efficiently. Kept me updated with the ceiling fan installation (our space is weird so there had to be a few decisions about the installation and aesthetic choices). I think he was here less than 1 hour. Very professional and easy to work with. Would 100% recommend them and will use them again for any future electrician home projects. And this might sound odd, but he had a very quiet / calm voice which was a very nice change! Most technicians or repair people have this like...boomy super yell-y construction worker voice that's always on volume 10 and this guy was so calm and didn't upset our very skittish cat in the other room (my cat always freaks out and hides with loud voices but he was chill the whole time and even watched the electrician leave from his cat tree window). Obviously not something I'd expect or look for haha but it was a total bonus! Lastly the price was great and more in line with my budget and expectations for the job size. There was no pre-existing wiring so they had to run EMT conduit inside my finished garage and wire everything to an existing outlet. The lights are controlled via a WiFi light switch that I provided them. Overall, the job was done to my request. Light installation is very clean looking and like a professional installed it. To add, Carlos has very competitive pricing. So, if you want quality work and want to get it at a good price, make sure to hire him. Zero stars if I could rate the service my mother received from Checo electric in early December 2022. The electricity in her house went out on a circuit we were unable to locate. I decided to let my mom reach out to this company to see if they could help determine what the problem was due to the 5 star reviews they have online. Two technicians (including the owner) came to the property to try and troubleshoot the problem. They both could not determine the cause. The owner charged her $180.00 to come and did nothing. He stated they work on an hourly basis. The circuit is still not working to this day. In my opinion, no reliable or ethical electrician would take pay for not finding the problem or doing absolutely nothing. The owner even had the nerve to call back and ask my mom if she still needed assistance-- absolutely ridiculous and dishonest company. 1/21023- The issue was resolved with another neighboring company. The issue was not what Checo informed my mother, unfortunately. All the plumbing and electrical work in the home has been completed by licensed contractors. I honestly feel the diagnosis we received was a cop out. As the owner stated below, they were here for 2 hours and probably couldn't find the root of the issue, therefore we were told it was past "handyman" work-- which is an assumption not fact. It was promptly fixed to our satisfaction by Ochoa Electric. After reviewing Checo's customer reviews, I have come to the conclusion they are able to handle simple projects-- installations. If you are experiencing a severe electrical problem that requires troubleshooting, I would highly suggest going to another company like my family and I did and save your money to put towards the repair. read more

Carlos is very reliable and priced fairly. He's currently my goto electrician and really bailed me out of a bad situation caused by unreliable electricians. When we moved into our new house we wanted ceiling fans installed. I got multiple quotes and Carlos responded promptly and with one of the best price estimate for the job. When many other companies wanted to charge me for an estimate, Carlos did it for free. He came over as scheduled, was friendly, professional, and had a good vibe about him. After having him install a few ceiling fans, and loving his positive attitude and work. We hired him for other jobs around the house. We attempted and failed to install a remote control ceiling fan. Having installed pendant lights and ceiling fans in the past we figured the remote control component would be a non issue. We ran into a hard stop due to the size of the remote control receiver; making it difficult to properly ground and connect the wires. In addition we also misplaced a wire. And finally because of the size of the receiver we were unable to secure the light cover properly. As a result our breaker shut off the power leaving our daughter in the dark for a single night (she survived). As luck would have it that side of the house also contained our wifi panel and extender. Working from home with no wifi and a single hot spot was brutal. I immediately created a work order and requested quotes from 10 electric companies. Carlos was the second to respond. He was reasonable, upfront with his pricing (flat rate), responsive, and professional. More importantly his electrician Charlie arrived on site ahead of schedule and had the ceiling fan properly installed in 30 minutes. Charlie walked us through our error, worked quickly, efficiently, left his workspace clean, and was respectful of our property. Great service! Had a doorbell transformer installed to power my video doorbell. The pro who came out was punctual, friendly and fast. He also explained everything he was doing which was great since I know very little about electrical work. They even came back the next day at no charge when I had an issue installing my doorbell. Apparently I must have purchased a bad transformer that quit working between the time it was installed and when I installed my doorbell. Highly recommend. Showed up he said, friendly & professional and remembered to text me instead of knocking on the door so that my dog wouldn't freak out. Carlos and Gustavo came in this morning to work on my chandelier project. The project was install a chandelier over an existing recessed light on a high ceiling. He had to improvise with the project since the recessed light converter kit I had was missing a piece and added time to the job. However, Carlos was able to think quick on his feet and was able to whip up a modification to ensure the project can be done. They were able to complete the project about 3 hours and cleaned up everything nicely. The installation looks nice clean with no holes from the recessed lighting. I got quotes from three different electricians that were all highly recommended on Yelp, but I went with Checo Electric, I c because not only were they the only ones that came out in-person to get a visual of the work requested, but they were also the best priced. I had 4 ceiling fans and one pendent light fixture replaced. I was quite happy with the results. Only downside is they didn't do disposal/recycling of the old ceiling fans and pendent light, but I was able to drive out to Miramar to get them recycled. Used this company to install an outlet into my garage so I could install a second fridge. It would require running a new line into it because my current configuration couldn't support the load!
