From the start, their communication, transparency, and professionalism stood out. My home was built in the 1930s and still has older wiring with several complex electrical challenges. This was not a straightforward job. SD Electric took the time to thoroughly assess the situation, troubleshoot intelligently, and explain options clearly, which immediately built trust. The level of care, attention to detail, and technical skill they brought was unlike anything I've experienced before. What impressed me most was their ability to find creative, code-conscious solutions on the spot--solutions that other electricians either missed or said were not possible. They successfully ran power from the new main panel to the subpanel, which was not an easy task given the layout and constraints. They also identified smart ways to add several receptacles to support modern appliances on older circuits, all while maintaining safety and functionality. The work quality was excellent, and everything was done with intention and precision. Even the finish work was outstanding--the installs looked clean and professional, and they took great care to minimize disruption. I was amazed by how little drywall repair was needed compared to previous electricians who left large holes and damage behind. Nars at SD Electric Technologies was fantastic. He was super professional, on time, and extremely thorough when he came out to give an estimate. The job involved adding a new breaker for a sauna and required about 150 feet of conduit and wiring, and he walked us through everything with real attention to detail. Had an issue with outlets going out but the breaker not showing not tripped. I knew that this was beyond my scope so I went on the search for a good electrician. I ran across SD Electric Technologies. I wanted to take care of this ASAP and was hoping to find someone on a Saturday. SD Electric Technologies was able to send out an electrician in a few hours. Leo came and was very friendly and explained what he was doing the whole time. He explained what could be happening. He explained that it looks like the circuit may have been overloaded and there was an issue with the neutral wire. Leo also found a safety issue with our 50 amp breaker to our AC. Which he said should be taken care of because of electrical arcs which is dangerous. Long story short he fixed our original issue but also took care of a potentially dangerous issue that some other electricians may have overlooked. He made sure all the screws holding down wires in our breaker box were nice and tight and did a once over of any other potential issues in relation to our breaker box. We needed several electrical issues looked into : installation of a new wall heater, installation of a charging plug for my new electrical vehicle, accommodating a new microwave that was blowing the fuse, and evaluation/installation of an upgraded or new panel box. We contacted one electrician who failed to follow-through with a permit from SDG&E after telling us it was not possible to use the existing 240v outlet we had from a defunct bedroom heater/air conditioning unit. When we had a scare from flickering can lights, he ignored our anxious call and text, so we looked for someone else. Nars from SD Electric Technologies replied to our Yelp search and followed up with us. When he arrived for a flat fee troubleshoot, he spent a long time checking out those lights, and addressing our other projects. We received an estimate and the crew came out the following week. Guess what? We didn't need to replace the electrical panel, because they were able to rework the 240v outlet to reconfigure our circuits! This saved us thousands of dollars and the wait time for SDG&E. The first crew that came out did everything but install the heater, because it was delayed from Amazon. They set it up so that it could be efficiently installed on the next session. They did an excellent job and were very careful to protect our tile work and hardwood floor. I am sorry but I didn't write down their names. The following week a second crew came, which at first concerned me as they kinda had to start from scratch on the heater project, but Jesus and Gerson did a fine job and again cleaned up after themselves. It turns out I had overpaid them, and Nars caught the mistake and promptly delivered a refund check. I definitely trust these folks! read more

I first reached out to SD Electric Technologies back in September to fix our garage lights and to get a quote for a full-house lighting project. Nars came out, quickly repaired the garage lights, and provided a clear and competitive quote for the larger job. About three weeks ago, they completed the full-house lighting project. They installed recessed lighting in living room, hallway, master bedroom, and new light fixtures in all bedrooms. They also replaced kitchen recessed lights to match the new ones. It took two days to complete the project but the whole team that did the job were all professional, respectful and punctual. The lighting layout came out perfect, and the installation was smooth and efficient. I also appreciate that they also made sure to clean each day afterwards. After the job was completed, I asked about adding dimmers in the kitchen, dinning and entry lights, and Nars had no problem coming back to install them. His customer service and willingness to make sure everything was just right really stood out. The next day half of my house suddenly lost power unfortunately due to an old outlet blowing out in the kitchen. I contacted Nars again and he scheduled the repair right away and sent Aaron the next morning to fix the issue. Aaron diagnosed and repaired the problem efficiently restoring power without any hassle. He ended up replacing 3 old outlets in the kitchen with GFCI outlets. I'm pleased with their work, professionalism, and responsiveness. I highly recommend SD Electric Technologies, Nars, and the entire team for any electrical projects. Very responsive and detailed. This time, no regrets as well. Other companies provided a higher on site diagnostic/consultation price, if not, doubled compared to SD Electric Technologies. The last time we used their service was about 2 years ago. Professional and respectful technicians on site. Military discount. Diagnostic and consultation price is $149.99. Needed to write this update. SD Electric swapped my panel about 4 years ago. Last year I began to have issues with an outlet and there is also flickering that started happening. I reached out to the company about a a warranty on the work but I guess is minimal. I asked for them to come look at concerns which had a high cost. The scheduled day came and they no showed. They ask me to reschedule at a convenient time for them with 0 empathy for my time. I hired someone to come look at the outlet and they discovered SD Electric put to hot wires into the outlet and was getting high amps. No wonder things blew up there (lamps bulbls). I still figured out what is causing the flickering but I don't think I can trust this company to return. Since they only seem to care about the big jobs. Update- since the company is not being honest on their response let me add information. I had a scheduled appointment for them to come and diagnose the issues already indicated. They called me at 7am and said they were not going to make it for a schedule appointment, scheduled. They did not ask to reschedule at that time. They called me the Friday after and asked if they could without warning or heads up. Well I have a job and my time is also valuable. They didn't ask to reschedule. My time is not valuable to them. Lastly, the issue described about their work is definitely has to do with new panel installation as we didn't have the issues before. The person who diagnosed the outlet found that two hot wires were connected from the panel instead a hot and neutral. This was a mistake by someone who is not willing to admit their mistakes. The gentleman here makes it sound like the panel was installed so long ago when is not. 1 yr warranty on a 5k is fine but I prefer loyalty and honesty. If a mistake was made own up to it. When I first called they came out to give me an estimate which I thought was high until I had some other guys out! Most of them didn't want to dig the trench. When I got back to them I was able to get it done two days later. They installed a level 2 charger near my driveway for my ev. They dug a 2' deep trench about 35' and put up a post. I asked the manager for an invoice with breakdown of charges, but he never sent one, which does not seem to be very professional. Communication. I posted a projected stating my bathroom fan/heater/light combo was mis-wired. They responded promptly with a flat rate estimate and asked no follow up questions. They show up, and determine another wire was needed but suggested to my wife to save money they could hook up the light and fan to one switch, and the heater to the other. My wife called and asked if that was ok - I was at work and quite rushed but that seemed ok. They then wired them up to one load line, on a 3 function switch - even though at this point there was only 2 functions. Then they explained that we can't run the fan/light and heater at the same time.... So they are assuming we want to sit in the dark with our heater on? Also, there is no ground wire now. I was shocked at the unprofessional solution they offered, which is also an unsafe solution. They were quick to suggest an estimate and I should have known not to go with the lowest bidder when they didn't even inquire about the job or explain what was or was not included in their estimate. Of course he blamed me because I used the term "mis-wired" instead of "missing a wire" as it needed another 12/3 with the 12/2. read more

Electric Panel Upgrade 125 AMP to 400 AMP and NEMA 14-50R 50 AMP Plugs We hired SD Electric Technologies for a major electrical upgrade, and they did an outstanding job at a reasonable price. The job was managed and lead by Nars, who did a five star job of coordinating, communicating job progress, handling and overseeing the complex electrical work. They upgraded our old 125 AMP electric panel to a new 400 AMP panel that supports two separate 200 AMP meters. A complex project that required coordination with SDGE and the city for approvals and inspections. New 3" conduit line had to be run from the handhole to the new panel which required, removing and restoring pavers, digging a trench, running the conduit and installing the panels. They also installed two NEMA 14-50R 50 amp outlet to plug electric vehicles into. Once the panel upgrade job was complete, they re-wired our garage lights, installed 12 new recessed lights, and added a dimmer switch. As part of the job, they also installed a duplex smoke alarm in the garage, wired to the one inside the house so it can be heard throughout the property an excellent safety upgrade. Their expertise in pulling wire was especially impressive--they completed the work with minimal cuts to the drywall, which saved us additional repair costs. Each day they were on site, they cleaned up and left the work area neat and orderly this showed their customer commitment, attention to detail and the importance of keeping their customers happy.
