Uh oh - I'm going hunting

May 13, 2023. Party of 3. We arrived at 6:40 and got on the wait list. 7:05 received a table. It was busy no doubt. And I felt a little bit like a sardine at my table, located at the service station/ kitchen entrance. Our appetizer (the Wisconsin cheese bites) was room temperature and no longer had the oowey gooey yummy cheesy pull it should have. The Monte Cristo $11- is ample and can be shared. I ordered the Key West chicken and shrimp $14- it was delicious. Our drinks were not presented as pictured and tasted like cool aid. $6 I guess I should not expect much there. Take it or leave it. I probably won't go back.

Military discount! Chicken Tenders and ribs. Great portions. Chicken is tender, delicate crust, very good. Ribs, this is not a craft Bbq restaurant. They are good for a "regular" restaurant. If you have never had Texas "craft" bbq ribs you will be fine with these.

    Painkiller and a croissant....yummmmm!!!

Casual. We sat at the bar and our bartender was amazing! He was funny and attentive despite being very busy! Service: The restaurant was so busy with diners even at 8:30 PM on a Saturday evening. I did not expect it to be this busy in my head. My husband and I sat at the bar since that was open seating and there were no sit down tables available inside or on the patio. The restaurant will add you to the waitlist if you'd like! Food: My husband and I shared the deviled eggs appetizer, and "the burger" with grilled jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. The deviled wggs (satan's huevos) were good, and spicy because we chose the "hellfire" option. The burger was huge! I'm glad my husband I split it because there was no way I'd finish that burger on my own! We both left content and not stuffed.

We looked at the menu online prior to coming and knew that we both wanted to try the cheese steak, so this was a bit of a bummer. They waitress who was very attentive told us that we can't order from the full menu for another 30 minutes so we decided to wait rather than leave. Listen, I get it the idea of having a different menu for brunch, but why not post it on your website and state the specific times for each menu? Also, what difference does 30 minutes make? They couldn't fire up the grill 30 minutes early? It wasn't very busy. Anyways, now for the good part: When we were finally allowed to order our sandwiches they were absolutely amazing. The steak was high quality and the gooey cheese had a ton of flavor. What wasn't amazing however was the bill. $20 for a sandwich and a small portion of fries in Abilene is absolute insanity. What's even crazier is we were charged extra for a side of ranch! I understand you get what you pay for, and there's no arguing the quality of the sandwich was top notch, but at the end of the day it's still just a sandwich. If you're good with dropping nearly $60 (including tip) on lunch, then this is your spot. For me, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Some days back, my Lovely Wife met up with her Son and went to Robert Lee for lunch. Joe ordered a…read moreDouble-Cheeseburger and said it was HUGE and very good. So, my Lovely Wife, knowing that I Love Cheeseburgers, suggested that we have my Birthday Lunch in Robert Lee. So, we did just that and met up with Joe at "Another Place Cafe". My Wife and I arrived a little past what we scheduled, but close enough. Joe was already inside, enjoying a cup of coffee. Another Place Cafe, from the outside, looks like a hole-in-the-wall type, but inside it's done up nicely. Joe had a Birthday gift for me, all wrapped. I opened it, and it was a model of a Volkswagen Bus, with flames - pretty cool. I will add this to my collection of model cars in the office. Don't remember who our server was, and it's not on the receipt. Joe ordered a basket of hand battered Large Onion Rings, served with Ranch for us to share. My Wife ordered the "Grilled Cheese Sandwich"; three slices of cheese, 2 American and 1 Swiss, on lightly buttered grilled bread, and a side of Large Onion Rings. Joe is having the "Chicken Strips" served with a bowl of Creamy Gravy, and two sides, choosing Mashed Potatoes and Fried Okra. I am going with what I mentioned, their "Double-Cheeseburger"; Two 1/2 pound Seasoned Patties & Two slices of American Cheese, with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, and sauce on a Soft Hamburger Bun. Choose Sweet Potato Fries as my side. My drink is Diet Dr Pepper. Orders are in, and our basket of Large Onion Rings has arrived. They are Golden Brown with a nice crunch and a very fresh onion ring with nice flavor. They are Delicious and a very nice ranch to dip them into. This place is pretty busy and has some great write-ups. Soon our food arrived, and Joe's Chicken Strips are Golden Brown and HUGE, and look perfectly breaded. They must be delicious because he ate all of them. My Wife enjoyed her Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and I drooled over my Double-Cheeseburger. It is evenly stacked up high with a couple of nice-sized patties covered with cheese. Took my first bite and this is Yummlicious, with a perfect balance of Cheese to these patties. A Huge slice of Tomato with lots of Lettuce and 4 Pickles that add that inside crunch. This is a great tasting Cheeseburger, and I see why Joe recommended this. My Sweet Potato fries are prepared just the way I like'em, fresh with lots of flavor. I was only going to eat half of the Cheeseburger, but then it tasted so good, and I was drooling with liciousness, I couldn't help but eat the whole thing. Lots of customers came in, some stayed to eat while others picked-up and took out. Everyone in the area and beyond knows about Another Place Cafe, and it's well attended. If you are looking for an out-of-the-way-place, the Another Place Cafe is that place. It's only 40 minutes from San Angelo, and it's some really good food, no matter what you order. Our Server (name unknown) received the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm - and she didn't know what to think of it, but had a huge smile on her face.

My sister & I shown up around 4:05pm on Saturday, March 21st. There were two booths open. One still had stuff on it so we sat at what looked like the clean table. It apparently had not been wiped clean. There was water and some sort of sticky stuff on it. We told the young man about the sticky stuff and asked for a towel to clean the table. The young man brought us a dry towel. We ended up using hand sanitizer to clean the table. After about 15 minutes of waiting, my sister brings attention to the waitress that we would like to get drinks. The waitress, Carson, informed us that they're closed from 3:30pm to 4:30pm due to waitress/cook shift change, but since it was just two of us and it's nearly 4:30, she will go ahead and serve us. We feel that if the restaurant is closed for any reason, no matter the length of time, there should be a sign & the door should be locked. We ordered a large chicken fried steak and fried pickles. I said that we want the pickles first. The CFS came and I reminded her that we wanted the pickles first. She then said that she put in the order and need to check, they should be done. No, we heard them being dropped in the fryer. Then, when receiving our pickles, she said that the boy was cutting pickles when we came in and so they weren't read.... I say bolony. I don't believe either thing she said. The water was gross, unsure if the glasses were dirty but I had stuff floating in mine. It actually tasted like it had another soda in it. My sister's was awful too. She went next door and bought 2 bottles of water. I told Carson about the water. She didn't offer anything else to drink or take our glasses away. After being served, Carson never came back to the table. I'm only give a second star because of the food. Staff would get a 0 stars if I could. Update: Since this review, they've updated their hours on Google.

We waited over an hour and a half for our appetizer. The brisket poppers did not contain brisket. After we have been there for so long, we were then told they were out of buffalo sauce for the Buffalo chicken salad. The pork chops were bland and the portion of Mac and cheese tasted odd and was tiny. Chicken fried steak was okay.

I originally ordered the Turkey and Dressing but after being informed the dressing would have to made from scratch after a morning catering job, I decided not to wait for it and changed my order to the fish. The fish was excellent. It was lightly breaded and tasted so good I didn't add any condiments or tartar sauce. I choose the seasoned rice for my side. It was good too but a bit too wet. There were a few more menu selections I'd like to come back and try sometime. I ordered the Funnel Fries for dessert. They were good but I would have preferred more powdered sugar than the icing provided in the cup.

And then, Texas. Just a little over an hour to nowhere Brownwood for lunch. Three hours to home after that. And just like that we dined bringing our second spynx home. We arrive to a small wait. A few minute later kitty carrier on the same table from a few years ago. You'll want to start with the cornbread even though your server will bring rolls minutes later. Regular butter for the purist on both. Both excellent bread bites. I guess that's an appetizer if you ever need one. I suggest you don't order anything more. As for entrees my first choice was the Shiner Bock fish and chips but no beer...boooo. Went back to my first pick from my initial visit. The dish had changed a bit. The sorta cream sauce has been replaced by a remoulade sauce. I omitted the rice and hoped that the squash casserole was as good as old fave from Black Eyed Pea. Good bites and the most of the staff stopped by to see the new little one. She liked her chicken and dumplings too.

Our server was friendly and energetic. She took us through what they have. Sides are communal, there was bread, beans, mash and cream corn. These were unlimited and free but not to be taken away. My husband has the chicken fried steak. It was the size of the dinner plate. He said it was super tasty. The batter was light, and steak was moist even though it's well cooked through. I had the lunch size catfish. Chose the tartare sauce. The batter was also light and fish was flaky. I took a bite of the chicken tender (our friends ordered), it was moist too! I felt that the cream gravy was lack-luster and needed more seasoning. The chicken and dumplings were on-point and the sides we selected (mashed potatoes, corn and green beans) were delicious. I do wish that they had regular size spoons (or teaspoons) available. i did not like using a giant serving spoon to eat. But that did not detract from the taste of the food.
