I love going here strictly for the monte cristo! This location is usually busy, so I sit outside on the patio every time so there isn't a wait. There are table umbrellas so the sun isn't beating down on you. Service was good, and pretty quick considering they were busy. I had the spicy mango mojito which was delicious, and of course the monte cristo with fries. The only tip I have is for staff to make sure the patio tables are cleaned off, and for management to deal with the ants in the patio/rock area. read more

Wow wow wow We are in town visiting my brother. He had to work one of the days so we set off to explore the area. We ended up at Cheddars Scratch Kitchen for lunch. When we walked in the female greeter didn't smile or show any emotion. Just seated us and left (we thought.. Oh great.. A racist place...) (we've been traveling through the south and have been getting mixed reactions being the only brown/asian people in most of the towns) However, this quickly changed when our server came. She asked if it was our first time and we said yes, she explained that everything was made from scratch in the kitchen and they use the freshest ingredients. The most expensive thing on the menu was about $15 which is pretty cheap. We ordered a spinach dip and 2 steak and shrimp combo plates. It was freaking amazing!! Everything was super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our waitress kept coming by to check on us to make sure we were ok. She was very nice and gave excellent service. Just as we were finishing our meals, the manager came by and gave us free cookies and thanked us for stopping by. How awesome is that!? When we left the male hostess opened the door for us and thanked us. Overall I was very impressed with this place and will be returning/recommending. Have always had a great experience. This last time not so much. We were there at 6. Went right in. Ordered an appetizer. It took 30 minutes to get it. It was cold when we got it. A very good chain restaurant meal. The prices are all very reasonable, the service is good, and most of the food is made from scratch. We got the triple treat appetizer which includes chicken tenders, potato skins and cheese curds. There is a very good amount of food. There were five of us, and we just barely finished it. Don't miss the honey butter croissants. They bake them fresh when you order it. They came out hot, soft and buttery. If it doesn't come with your meal, you get three of them for three dollars which is a pretty good deal. Though they bake them in house, they don't actually create them in house-they are shipped to the store. The entrees were good. I'd give it a firm 4 stars. Two of us had the fried chicken dinner. The dinner portion comes with two chicken breasts, so more than likely you will be able to take one home. The chicken and rib combination plate is a good deal. The chicken and ribs are both very tender and not oversauced. The sauce is slightly sweet and slightly smoky but not overpowering. The chicken fried steak was OK, I've had better elsewhere. Lastly for dessert, the Apple crisp à la mode is a great deal. It comes with two scoops of ice cream and even though we split it five ways, we were all stuffed. Service was very good. They let you sub out any of the sides with another side. Once we started asking for a few sides to be subbed out, our server kept asking if we wanted to sub out more. There were a couple small flaws in the service, including she got confused about our croissant order and only brought us one croissant instead of three. Also one of the chicken dinners only had one chicken breast instead of two. But once we pointed out the problems, our server was very apologetic and quickly remedied the situation. Came in on a Sunday night around 7. Wasn't too busy. Sat back in cocktail area behind bar. Server was pretty new, just polite enough. Televisions and music were so loud we couldn't hear the server. We ordered waters plus one drink. Drink took 10 minutes to come out. We watched the bartender make it and sit there, 10 feet away. Too busy talking to her friends who we camping at the bar top with empty glasses and plates piled up. All food came out via food runner about 20 mins later. Runner did not ask about any missing food. My food was missing. After 10 mins we flagged down another server about the missing food. The food was decent but had been jostled/ rearranged and was out of place. I had not been to a Cheddars in 10 years but thought it would not be possible to imitate the bad experience a decade ago. But yeah two bad experiences, separate locations over 10 years. I've been to this location as well as ordered to-go. When dining in on a Sunday evening, it seemed that the restaurant had pretty much "run out" of everything we wanted to order. The sides, the salads, and even a beer that we wanted were all not available. Other than that the experience was okay. Last night, we ordered to-go. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta with a Caesar Salad and a croissant. The pasta and the salad were fine and all packaged well. However by croissant was burnt and hard. My favorite thing to get from Cheddars is the croissants because they are usually so soft and fluffy and this one literally crunched when I took a bite. The last three times I've been there I've had issues. A few months ago I had gone and ordered chicken tenders, Mac and cheese and green beans. My Mac and cheese looked and tasted like it had sat for a long while before being given to me. My green beans were actual green beans but they were still hard and they were cold. I go again and I have their new chicken noodle soup which was very salty. Then the green beans were different in one of the sides they were canned green beans. Majority of the food was cold. Third time. We order two orders of croissants, the orders were smaller than usual. We ordered chicken Alfredo and the amount of pasta they gave us was that of a kids meal and we made a comment about it and the server completely ignored us. This was my first visit to this Cheddars (I've only been to two others) and was pretty pleased. We couldn't decide between the spinach dip and the coconut shrimp as an appetizer, so we can both. I couldn't find anything in either appetizer dish that made it stand out from anybody else's, but they were good. I particularly liked the dipping sauce for the coconut shrimp. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which met my expectations, although I thought it needed a little more barbecue sauce, and our server was happy to bring me a couple of containers of it. My partner got the chicken tender platter, and he said it was pretty good. We each got the broccoli cheddar casserole as a side, and aside from needing some salt, it was spot-on. So a friend recommended this place yesterday and i had to go and try it out. And What a disappointment it was, Lets start with the menu, very basic, not many options, so i guess I'll have the Original Hamburger with cheddar cheese. Hamburger is just plain, No sauce, no taste, or texture for that matter. All pickles, Tomatoes, onions are on the side, i guess i have to do it myself, open that cheese that stuck on the bun and put all ingredients in it. Need Ketchup, Where is the waitress? no where to be found for more than 15 minutes, i guess i'll start eating the food before it gets cold. I had eaten at a Cheddars many years ago while attending Michigan State University and was excited when I saw that they are in KY and TN. Our server Nathan was good although the poor guy seemed to be running on fumes- he was in need of a 30 minute break or something- he said he was working a double and hadn't had a break- I blame this on poor management. The bar area is open seating so we found a booth that hadn't been cleaned so we sat and Nathan came and cleaned it off- they must not employ bussers although it would have been helpful and led to a higher rating if the tables would have been cleaned as soon as the previous customers left. I ordered the dinner portion of the salmon- bourbon glazed on a bed of rice mixed w/ peas, steamed broccoli, and I substituted a side salad for $1.00. I would pass on their blue cheese dressing next time b/c it was neither chunky nor strong and that's how I like it. The salmon was good as was the rice and broccoli. My boyfriend really enjoyed his smokehouse burger and he added fries for $2.19- I don't like that the burger doesn't come w/ any sides- it's odd. I find it interesting that the suggested gratuity calculation that is listed at the bottom of the receipt states 'includes tax'- why would anyone tip on the amount including the tax? read more

When we were sat it took twenty minutes to get us drinks and appetizers. We ended up getting our food to go because of how slow it was. This wasn't the worst part, though. Our server never returned my boyfriend his check to tip, so we did not get a chance to. Later that night his card had been charged almost 40% of a tip that he never gave. One of our friends dining with us had the same thing happen but even more money was taken. We called the restaurant and I will say whoever we talked to was very helpful. I've been to this Cheddar's three or four times and their food is great. The gentleman who greets you is an amazing guy! The different servers we've had have always been great. Tonight, my family of five gets there after 4pm, the brunette hostess is all attitude. We have a party of five, two being kids, she puts us at a booth in the bar. The five menus didn't even fit on the table. So I ask if she has a larger booth or a table we can sit at. Well, the tables can't accommodate more than four people and our night servers aren't here yet so I can't put you in the back with the bigger booths. She proceeds to walk away. Ummm what? My boyfriend and I recently moved to town and have never heard of this place. The curb appeal is soooo cute! We looked them up on google and they have a 4 point something rating with over a thousand reviews so we just HAD to try it! With it being re-opening weekend during the pandemic, there were obviously unusual measures the employees had to take but they all handled it very well! I tell my husband let's take it to go. We call and the person who answers the phone says no to go orders at 10pm. I look at the door and it said closes at 10:30pm. After we told her what happened she stated oh no worries we don't close til 10:30 come in sit down I'll get you drinks and pack up your order to go. She served us our drinks took our order and 10 minutes later we had our food boxed and ready to go. Sherica showed us world class service! I have family in Clarksville and we have met with them to eat here on several occasions at this location, always clean, fast, and courteous. This past weekend I took my brother in law and his wife out to celebrate his successful back surgery. All of us were extremely satisfied with our meals. Unfortunately I left my debit card at the restaurant and didn't realize it for two days. We ate here 3 times the week we visited our son in Clarksville! The prices and quality of food is excellent. Best Monte Cristo! We have traveled all over the US and the only thing that comes close is in Seattle. Salads are large enough for 2, and were really good.
