Pretty average. Our waitress was really nice. The food was okay. The breakfast meat was really dry (except for the bacon which was excellent) and I feel like I got a small very crusty/dry side of hash brown casserole but I don't expect perfection from a chain. We were here on Mother's Day at 6pm. This was probably the worst experience we have had at a Cracker Barrel. We eat at this location quite often for family diners due to location and good service. It was very obvious that our server was new, and while very polite, he was not trained very well. It also seemed that management did not have much experience, as the service for the entire restaurant was running very slow. We saw two tables leave before they had been acknowledged by a server. It was not very busy when we arrived, with many open tables, yet it took over an hour to get our food. One of our parties order was forgotten, another's entree salad was delivered without dressing. It took her about 10 minutes to get her dressing. Most of the food was overcooked or dry. We had to wait 30 minutes for drink refills after asking several times, and we never got more napkins after asking for them as well. Overall, a very disappointing visit. read more

The lady's clean do not know how to sweep under the tables! They carry the dust pan around all the time and with every sweep the broom his the dust pan and makes a very loud pop! This gets very disturbing and hurts your ears. Sweep everything out in to one pile then use the dust pan. I even said something to our waitress, she agreed and told me she said something to the lady's about being so loud. read more

My God what total dog food. What happened to the once great Cracker Barrel. Located just off Exit 11 on I-24 Clarksville. Went in for dinner and what a massive mistake. Got seated and ordered Chicken and Dumplings, Okra, Turnip Greens and biscuits. For starters I think this chain is in its death throes. The bean counters have gotten ahold of this. #1. Got a tiny, 2 spoon full portion of mashed potatoes. Didn't even go over the top of the saucer it was in. #2, Chicken in the dumplings was SO TOUGH I had to spit it out. #3. The biscuits were rock assed hard and totally inedible. INEDIBLE! #4. 3 dumplings.... THREE. THE BROTH WAS LIKE WATER. Obviously stretching it as far as it would go. #5. Most of my experiences at this Cracker Barrel ranged from good to excellent until I had the worst experience ever and was not able to empathize with the server & service after so many disappointments and utter carelessness. The only positive experience that day were the sides of green beans. They were perfectly cooked yet not enough to save the dinner. They were short of staff, and the server seemed to be in a bad mood. It was very overcrowded. I understand such dilemmas, since I have experienced such dilemmas as a server and full time college student working 3-4 jobs in the past. I ordered a medium rare steak with onions and gravy yet I received a well done steak with no onions and gravy. The server blamed the cook and offered no apology, compensation, or options to rectify the situation. These are procedures I would do as a server out of moral obligation and empathy. Instead she took the steak and came back with only onions and gravy. The wait for my next medium rare steak was long. I had eaten my three sides. We never got refills for our drinks. She brought back another steak that was rare NOT medium rare but I decided to eat it. As I sliced it in pieces a pool of blood gushed from the steak. I have eaten rare steak but it did not create a pool of blood like this steak did. It was flavorless and unappetizing. So many disappointments and the server never tried to really rectify the situation or refill our drinks. She did offer to get the manager. The manager only comped one of our drinks and the steak dinner. I was still hungry and settled for cheap ramen in our hotel room. I am distraught with the inconsistency of this specific Cracker Barrel. I came in with the expectation of having a dashing meal of Eggs benedict as they call it "biscuit benny" to find out it is no longer apart of their menu. The hubby and I decided to stop in last night since over the holidays we were given some gift cards to spend. For a Thursday night, it wasn't busy in the slightest, so because of that there should have been no reason why it took an hour for us to even be served our food. Stopped in while travelling from California. Came by initially on Saturday. Place was packed, no place to park. Came back on Sunday, not as crowded, and got seated right away. The food was good. Came back with perfect broccoli & worse casserole. DRY, crustier. Not at all the normal creamy delish casserole. My friends broccoli was perfect from the start as well as her mashed potatoes & gravy. Always wanted to visit Cracker Barrel and when I finally was able to, I wasn't disappointed. I was amazed how quickly we were seated and the variety of food on the menus that are offered. This food was horrible. Everything was under seasoned and tasted bland. I had the county fried steak and this may be on me but I think of chicken fried steak and country fried steak to be synonymous. You take a cheap cut of beef and tenderize it by cubing it and fry it like a you would a piece of chicken. The crust on this steak is not like fried chicken, the meat is not cube steak it's hamburger. The mashed potatoes were dry but the pinto beans were good. 20 times when we stop here we have to wait maybe up to an hour. Today we were able to go ride in and have our seat. We started a little earlier it wasn't after church as we usually come. Our server's name was Olivia. She was outstanding. She went to great lengths to make sure we understood some of the changes to the new menu. She also made sure stop by our table to make sure everything was as it should be. There have been a few changes to the menu. For example you have to pay $.99 more if you want regular hashbrowns instead of the casserole. You also are unable to get an omelette. Still there is plenty of options still available and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. It didn't taste like breakfast sausage, but more like a patty of smoked sausage. I didn't like it personally, either alone or with the sausage gravy. We were on our way back home after 2 days of driving. It was atound 2:30pm and we were hoping to get in and out in 45 mins or less and make it past Nadhville before their business traffic started. Then she looked up, and as if I had not just told her, she asked, "how do you want your eggs"...again ignored us 5. She asked if we wanted biscuits or corn bread while we waited and we said biscuits. She brought corn bread. I asked why no biscuits and she said they were still making them....well then why offer them? 6. She brought food to people who were seated after us and had ordered after us...same ones who were served drinks before us. Inside, as I watched her bring platters of food out, I told myself, "if that goes to that other table, I'm walking out"....she dropped the platters off at that other table. We ended up being there for over an hour. 1 hour with only drinks and no refills...she never came back to check on our drinks. We called after we got on the road, and told them we had walked out and were told, "ok we'll tell the cook staff" hmmm?!?! The restaurant was not that busy and the manager was walking around. I regret not talking to the manager but we just wanted to get home and still had a 3.5 hr drive ahead of us. This is the first cracker barrel I've been to that wouldn't seat you until your entire party was standing right in front of the hostess and then argue and be very rude about it. Then the food was cold and the bacon was very chewy even though it was cooked crispy. Only positive about this visit was the waitress, I left her a big tip. This place is always busy. Our group of six easily got a table early on a Friday morning. The waitress took our order quickly but then we waited a long time for our food. We had nothing special. I ordered the egg sandwich. It was a bit plain and could have used some cheese. We had to ask for a lot of items that should have been on the table like jam. We stopped going there just before Covid because of poor service. We recently came back for take out orders. Two of them. BOTH orders were completely messed up. They refused to fix them, and would not refund our money or give us a credit. The manager is horrible. Called our bank for our money back this time and they returned it to our account. UPDATE: I'm adding a star. The restaurant manager, Chris, called me personally to address the issues. He apologized for the service, promised to address all of the staff, conduct some re-training and the corporate headquarters sent me a gift card. Disappointing Cracker Barrel Experience Service was good, but food and environment were disappointing. After being seated, I was promptly greeted by my server and made to feel welcome. While he was getting my drink order, I felt a draft and was getting cold. The table next to me was wearing a heavy coat and I had just taken my coat off. I noticed the ceiling fans were on and blowing a lot of air. When the server returned, I asked if he could turn the fans down or off and he said the restaurant has no control over the fans. Disappointed, I put my coat back on. I ordered the fried chicken dinner (4 pieces) with Mac and cheese and corn. After I got my meal and but into the chicken, I was again disappointed because it didn't taste fresh. In fact it tasted like it was pre-breaded and frozen and then fried several hours before I ordered it. It tasted like something I would get from under the heat lamp next to the cash register at a gas station. The max and cheese was ice cold and the corn had bits of green beans mixed in. When I was finished, I had almost as many scraps as pieces of chicken than I started with...from the thick, chewy breading and the bones...my plate was still full and I was still hungry. To top it off, my corn bread muffin was hard and chewy. The server finally remembered I asked for hot suave. Of my choices were Tabasco and Cholula. He brought the Cholula to my table and asked my "you wanted tobasco, right?" And handed me the Cholula. ‍ I've always been a Cracker Barrel fan, but this visit was a let down.
