I've always heard of cheddar's scratch kitchen and I knew it was a chain but considering it was a Friday afternoon it really didn't seem like they brought their "A" game. I have eaten here once and I probably will never eat there again. The chicken was an anything special in the meat loaf wasn't really seasoned well. We arrived at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon. The food was awesome-we had the boneless fried chicken and it was fresh and tasty. The problems started when our drinks came without straws. We sat waiting for the waitress to bring them, and when she finally came to take our order, my husband had to remind her about the straws.After that, my tea was empty and the waitress said she would bring more. I waited and waited-all the while growing more thirsty from the good, but salty chicken. Our child dropped her fork, another waitress picked it up and my husband told her we needed another. She said she would be "just a minute "--but she never came back. I ended up wiping mine off and letting her finish her meal. This was top 5 worst experiences I've ever had. 10:00 at night they shoved us into a corner surrounded by dirty booths and not just dirty but un-pre-bussed! Restaurant was completely empty and we were sitting in the tightest section with the only people in the building other than the bartender and his one guest. We ordered drinks and appetizers. No drinks after 20min (I have proof to back it) and they lost our appetizer so took them off the check, apologize, and then still didn't bring them. We received our complimentary bread with our salads and no silverware. To top it off we finally got our entrees and the Item my husband ordered, buffalo chicken wrap had chicken, a sprinkle of cabbage and 1 pickle. My food was bland. I had the key west chicken. I don't recommend it. On a good note, my kids loved their kids meals. We never get to go out to dinner due to busy schedules and it's so discouraging at this point. Do better Cheddars! Let me start off by saying super friendly staff. Everyone spoke to us. Very nice looking & clean establishment. Very welcoming. Our waitress was also very nice & accommodating. The only slight complaint i have is that closer to the end of our meal, our water glasses we're almost empty & never refilled. :( The food....for the appetizer we got the onion rings. They were very good as always. For the entrée I had the Key West Chicken & Shrimp with the mac n cheese & broccoli casserole as my two sides. The chicken & shrimp were awesome. It was on a bed of rice with pineapple Pico de gallo. The mac n cheese was good but I felt it had been cooked for a while & I got one of the last scoops. I really want to like this place, however every time I visit the experience doesn't blow my mind away. That's why I can't rate this place any higher because an average restaurant will get an average rating. The food is hit or miss. There are times my meals come out just right. There are also times where they make my food too salty or overcook it. There was also a time where my appetizer came last. The only thing that's always good is the service. Went here for dinner and we were seated right away, and upon being seated the waitress came over immediately to take our drink order and appetizers. The alcoholic drinks were very good and not on the watery side. Our entrees did not take very long to arrive, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We all said how very friendly and fast the wait staff were. They were very efficient and really wanted to ensure we enjoyed everything. My boyfriend and I came back last week and Gretchen our server was excellent. The painkillers were better. They even made it pretty and put it in a martini glass. We had a group of 6 that went to Cheddar's on Feb 08. Our wait was not terrible but our service from the waiter Dustin was. We ordered our drinks and they came out 15 minutes later, we then ordered our food and waited. We waited for about an hour for our food took a bite and it was cold. We also never received bread, we asked the waiter for some when we received our food and by the time we got it we had already finished our food. After we were done we waited for the check and once we handed our cards to the waiter he was gone for another 20 minutes. My husband had got up and went to the bathroom and saw our waiter in the kitchen talking with the girls he works with. Tonight's service was the absolute worst. We were seated at a filthy table. Our server also rushed the entire evening, screwed up our order, and charged us twice for the same items. She also dropped my father in laws shrimp onto her dirty tray and then picked it off and gave it to him on his plate. Wow! They are amazing! Not all chain restaurants are created equal. The outside patio and decor is inviting and relaxing (complete with a waterfall and park-like benches). The staff and food is never second best. A very nice waitress brought us two crescent roll and menus and took out drink orders. My wife and I both ordered hamburgers mine with french-fries and hers with green beans. Food came in a very reasonable amount of time. My hamburger was cold and slimy, not raw slimy but like very old meat, couldn't taste it because of the gag factor of the mouth feel. The french-fries were cold and limp sort of like they had been setting out for a few hours and then reheated. My wife's burger was not slimy but cold and sort of raw and old tasting and her green beans were warm on top and cold beneath without much flavor. I ordered something spicy and decided to take it home because I had nothing to drink. Weve eaten here SEVERAL times and I cannot believe how bad the night was. I asked 2 for a manager and I was told both times the manager has been notified and that we were being comped our appetizers, that finally showed up 15 minutes AFTER our meals. My daughter took my 3 year old nephew to the bathroom where a toilet had overflowed everywhere. 45 minutes later my mom went and nothing had been cleaned up.
