I've always heard of cheddar's scratch kitchen and I knew it was a chain but considering it was a Friday afternoon it really didn't seem like they brought their "A" game. I have eaten here once and I probably will never eat there again. The chicken was an anything special in the meat loaf wasn't really seasoned well. We arrived at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon. The food was awesome-we had the boneless fried chicken and it was fresh and tasty. The problems started when our drinks came without straws. We sat waiting for the waitress to bring them, and when she finally came to take our order, my husband had to remind her about the straws.After that, my tea was empty and the waitress said she would bring more. I waited and waited-all the while growing more thirsty from the good, but salty chicken. Our child dropped her fork, another waitress picked it up and my husband told her we needed another. She said she would be "just a minute "--but she never came back. I ended up wiping mine off and letting her finish her meal. Let me start off by saying super friendly staff. Everyone spoke to us. Very nice looking & clean establishment. Very welcoming. Our waitress was also very nice & accommodating. The only slight complaint i have is that closer to the end of our meal, our water glasses we're almost empty & never refilled. :( The food....for the appetizer we got the onion rings. They were very good as always. For the entrée I had the Key West Chicken & Shrimp with the mac n cheese & broccoli casserole as my two sides. The chicken & shrimp were awesome. It was on a bed of rice with pineapple Pico de gallo. The mac n cheese was good but I felt it had been cooked for a while & I got one of the last scoops. The broccoli casserole was about the same.....bottom of the pan. Another person in our group got some & theirs was fresh from a new batch. My husband got the chicken pot pie. The waiter was super nice, but slow as Christmas! She was older and had a lot on her plate so we had patience with her. She did give us complimentary croissants while we waited so that was a plus. I really want to like this place, however every time I visit the experience doesn't blow my mind away. That's why I can't rate this place any higher because an average restaurant will get an average rating. The food is hit or miss. There are times my meals come out just right. There are also times where they make my food too salty or overcook it. There was also a time where my appetizer came last. The only thing that's always good is the service. When they mess things up, they are quick to fix it or offer a refund. I wish they were more consistent so that I can raise my review. read more

Went here for dinner and we were seated right away, and upon being seated the waitress came over immediately to take our drink order and appetizers. The alcoholic drinks were very good and not on the watery side. Our entrees did not take very long to arrive, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We all said how very friendly and fast the wait staff were. They were very efficient and really wanted to ensure we enjoyed everything. My boyfriend and I came back last week and Gretchen our server was excellent. The painkillers were better. They even made it pretty and put it in a martini glass. This was top 5 worst experiences I've ever had. 10:00 at night they shoved us into a corner surrounded by dirty booths and not just dirty but un-pre-bussed! Restaurant was completely empty and we were sitting in the tightest section with the only people in the building other than the bartender and his one guest. We ordered drinks and appetizers. No drinks after 20min (I have proof to back it) and they lost our appetizer so took them off the check, apologize, and then still didn't bring them. We received our complimentary bread with our salads and no silverware. To top it off we finally got our entrees and the Item my husband ordered, buffalo chicken wrap had chicken, a sprinkle of cabbage and 1 pickle. My food was bland. I had the key west chicken. I don't recommend it. On a good note, my kids loved their kids meals. We never get to go out to dinner due to busy schedules and it's so discouraging at this point. Do better Cheddars! We had a group of 6 that went to Cheddar's on Feb 08. Our wait was not terrible but our service from the waiter Dustin was. We ordered our drinks and they came out 15 minutes later, we then ordered our food and waited. We waited for about an hour for our food took a bite and it was cold. We also never received bread, we asked the waiter for some when we received our food and by the time we got it we had already finished our food. After we were done we waited for the check and once we handed our cards to the waiter he was gone for another 20 minutes. My husband had got up and went to the bathroom and saw our waiter in the kitchen talking with the girls he works with. Tonight's service was the absolute worst. We were seated at a filthy table. Our server also rushed the entire evening, screwed up our order, and charged us twice for the same items. She also dropped my father in laws shrimp onto her dirty tray and then picked it off and gave it to him on his plate. Wow! I got a great deal here since I stayed at one of the local hotels--just by showing the hotel key, I received a complimentary chips and Santa Fe Spinach dip! What a great deal! The outside patio and decor is inviting and relaxing (complete with a waterfall and park-like benches). The staff and food is never second best. The nachos arrive and cover the tray. On first glance it appears to be a welcoming delight only to bit into cold chewy chicken. I can over cook chopped chicken at home and leave it out for free. The shredded cheese had already began to harden on the nachos and the queso was luke warm at best. We sent it back and ask that it not be remade. On to the entrees. 6oz top sirloin cooked medium. This Cheddar's was the nicest I've ever been to, including the two locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. This was really nice, actually. The restaurant is clean and the service was excellent. The bartender was friendly and mixed an awesome dirty martini. We had their Texas Margarita. As a Texan, I approve. Strong but not too liquor-heavy. Their Homemade Baked Potato Soup wasn't amazing, but came out piping hot and didn't have too many potato chunks or cheese. Their Philly Cheesesteak was perfect. Definitely order it if you love that dish. My husband had the pot pie and it was outstanding. Definitely try it if you love pot pie. It was heavy on the chicken and the meat was tender. While visiting Clarksville, TN, we stopped to eat a meal at Cheddar's. We were seated quickly and served by a waiter named Shannon, who by the way provided excellent service. We ordered the strawberry lemonade, which was very good. To eat we had the bacon cheeseburger, a jalapeno burger, spinach dip, chicken tender appetizer, and a top sirloin & shrimp. most of the meals came with fries or mashed potatoes and everyone was very satisfied with the taste and quality of each serving.
