Grilled Rainbow Trout
Michele B.

Today was top notch for Cheddars for us, and we've been here plenty of times. Service was efficient and super friendly, food was exactly what we wanted, and prices were so reasonable, we paid with cash! Seriously though, for a chain place, we left very satisfied and happy and glad we got to try some new items this visit. It was quiet since it was around 2:30, and the music was a nice mix of new and old tunes, but wasn't blasting us at all. We tried the chicken Caesar pasta salad with the chicken on the side, a request they happily honored, and the (OMG) rainbow trout! Cooked to perfection. We frequent the Springs often, so we will return!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

While in town with the family, we decided to dine in at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. Although they were pretty darn busy, we were seated quickly. The restaurant has plenty of seating and while the atmosphere was hoppin', servers were quick, attentive and tables were cleaned off immediately. They have such a wide variety of dishes on their menu. My son chose the Texas Cheese fries (fries, bacon and cheese with a side of ranch), both hubby and daughter had Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. One with regular fries while the other had sweet potato fries, while I had their Chicken Fried Steak. Everyone's dishes were made perfectly. Everyone's fries were fried perfectly and crisp, my chicken fried steak was at breaded nicely and crisp and all of the servings on each person's dish was generous. Prices are reasonable and I feel everything was well worth it. If you haven't gone, definitely give them a try!

Top Sirloin Steak, Baked Potato & Green Beans

I really like Cheddar's, they have good food, good service & great prices. Plus there's plenty of parking. As it states in their name Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen...everything is homemade & it tastes it. The decor is inviting, nicely decorated with pretty ceiling fans. We sat in the bar in comfy booths, the music was somewhat loud but then again we were in the bar. Our Server was friendly & attentive. There were many items to choose from on the menu, including many salads, beer, wine & cocktails. They also have lunch combo specials starting at $11.79. I had a delicious 6oz Top Sirloin Steak, that was cooked perfectly with a Loaded Baked Potato & Southern Green Beans, for $15.49. The beans were yummy, very crave-able! If you're looking for comfort food Cheddar's is the place to go.

Buffalo Chicken Wrapper Sandwich

Had a great experience here Monday night. Restaurant was a bit cooler so I suggest a jacket. The food was great. I feel like we did wait longer than expected, but it was really fresh. I was really impressed with their sauces actually. I'm kind of a ranch snob and thoroughly enjoyed it here. ‍ I actually got the chicken tender appetizer because it came with fries as you can see it's practically a full meal. My friend got the buffalo chicken wrap and we were really shocked at the fact that there was two wraps. Portion sizes go crazy here.

Overall, I had a great time here. My drinks were amazing. The painkiller is a must try if you enjoy rum and mixed fruit juice. The ribs were a bit dry and the sauce was very underwhelming... the chicken tasted good and I liked the ranch as well. The kid burger was good but a bit dry and the fries were phenomenal!!! I was greeted by so many great servers and had such a great experience and timely mannered service. The views are why you should come here... you must see the views. I sat on the patio and it was amazing!!

Terrible ! Not from scratch! Looked like a frozen loaf . Very pasty . Gunther Toodys makes a Way better Monte Cristo . The fries were good but again served in a tiny cup I was very disappointed. My husband had the fish tacos and he was not impressed. We will not be back .

Croissant style rolls

I've driven by Cheddars for years and just never had a reason to stop here. Husband suggested we try it out and I was pleasantly surprised. American style food and decor. The staff was very friendly and checked on us often. I ordered a slab of bbq ribs and the hubs had salmon with rice and a couple sides. Broccoli casserole, green beans, and Mac n cheese. Just so we could try a variety and their croissant style rolls. It was all well seasoned, and really nothing to complain about. If you're looking for a classic American style restaurant, this place is a safe bet!

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to our waitress, Billi. From the moment she greeted us, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She struck the perfect balance of being friendly while also giving us space to enjoy our meal. Drinks were always refilled quickly, and we never had to ask twice for anything. What really stood out was her attentiveness; she noticed little details (like bringing extra napkins before we even asked, and extra fries :)) and checked in at just the right times without interrupting. Service like this makes a huge difference. Because of her, our dinner felt extra special, and we left with smiles on our faces. Thank you, Billi, for making our evening so enjoyable--you're a true asset to this restaurant! We will definitely going back!

Chicken breast
Susie C.

First and foremost, my server was wonderful, which is why I'm giving 2 stars. I ordered the Chicken and Kale salad to go, and the menu advertised "grilled chicken breast". The chicken was sliced deli meat, and the salad, kale, and veggies were from a grocery store. Please be honest about what you're advertising. You have good people working for you, they deserve to have the franchise be honest about the food being served.

Ask the Community - Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Do you have any vegan options? The menu unless I'm missing something looks pretty heavy into cheese and meats.

We're going to be in town on Sunday 9/8 for a wedding...are there TVs to catch some of the Cleveland Browns' game at 11a MST?

Have not been there in a long time but do not think there are any TVs. You can go next door to the other restaurant which has TVs and also good food. It is the Colorado Mountain Brewery.

Our family (5) is traveling in our 5th wheel thru Colorado Springs? Cheddar's is one of our favorite places for lunch. Is there plenty of room in the parking lot for our RV?

Great question, Sylvia! Our lot can absolutely accommodate an RV, but as Jeff hinted at it really depends on how full the lot is when you arrive. Travel safe!

I only was able to take a couple bites of the mac and cheese but the presentation was awesome and it tasted great! Our server was awesome. We had a window seat looking right to the mountains. Great view! They have shades that come down as the sun starts to set. Is the decor "upscale", no. It's very nice but it's a hotel restaurant that serves breakfast too. So it can't be the decor of high end restaurants around town, but it is still nice. The killer views easily make up for that. They also have west facing outdoor seating..that will be nice in the summer! I just don't eat as much as I used to so my wife and I decided to split the Caesar salad and split the chicken pot pie. I assumed they would bring the one salad and two plates for us to do the splitting.....but no! They brought out the salads already split and ready to go. They did the same for the pot pie with each serving topped with a biscuit for the pot pie part. It was also nice that they didn't add a split plate fe The salads were good we both thought the pot pie was good and of course the half price wine was nice. The wine list is not extensive but some decent choices gruner (white) wine. I can't complain about the service, our service was friendly and attentive. I'm just a tough critic and while some folks gave 5 stars I'm at 4.

We made the reservation specifically to celebrate a special occasion, yet neither the hostess nor our waiter (Brayden) even acknowledged it. When we mentioned it ourselves, the only gesture was one measly glass of cheap champagne for a table of four. The dress code was a joke. OpenTable lists it as Business Casual, but we saw the hostess in sweatpants and Chuck Taylors, a server in what looked like physical training gear and Crocs, plus plenty of T-shirts, shorts, and open-toed shoes. Perhaps they should take their meals outside. Only the north section was seated during our visit, directly in the blinding sunset from 6-7pm. The only logical reason to keep it open seems to be avoiding cleaning it at close. Both surf & turf steaks arrived undercooked, and everything was wildly overpriced. Finally, Brayden--we could already tell your preference; the rainbow coordinating pens weren't necessary. Will never return. Damn food made all us gassy as hell.

The fried cheese is very different from your other standard cheeses or mozzarella sticks. The cheese is much more firm with a light fry. The cup of bacon is fatty, salty, with a tiny bit of sweetness. The ricotta gnocchi bolognese has some amazing fresh gnocchi. The bolognese sauce was okay so it's a fine dish but I probably wouldn't get it again. The duck poutine has delicious fresh fries that end up crisp topped with tons of cheese and gravy. I went solo and decided to sit at the bar where they had three bartenders that would rotate with all the customers making it very efficient and great coverage. The food was very inventive; not your typical fare even for a bistro. I started with the lobster tater tots that were served with ranch. He had the perfect amount of seafood flavor and a super crispy outer; I would recommend. Next, I had the ginger pork and crispy rice dish. This had a large helping of pork that did well with the Asian flavors and that crispy rice for texture; I would recommend. My final was the miso butterscotch tart. You can't go wrong with a dessert that has butterscotch, Biscoff, marshmallow and miso. The only criticism I could make was that the tart was pretty loose, but that did not take away from the flavor. To drink this place has lots of beer taps, a good selection of wine and plenty of interesting cocktails. I chose to have a couple beers and they were both very tasty. I would like to come back with additional people so that we could try more of the menu items. Unfortunately, it is an hour away from where I live, but the next time I find myself down in the springs, I will return.

I called the restaurant to see if they had a bar that served the full menu. The nice hostess who answered the phone said, Yep, come on in and we'll take great care of you! So I showed up an hour later, walked to the main restaurant entrance only to see a big sign that said "Closed for Private Event." Clearly that was more than a little frustrating given the welcoming conversation I had with said hostess not an hour earlier. I asked the bartender who was in earshot just to confirm. He said yep - we're closed, but the Tack Room is open across the hall. I asked if they served the full steakhouse menu over there. He responded, I have no idea! Needless to say, my decision to come to Flying Horse is going downhill fast. I walk to the Tack Room. Clearly it was busy and likely understaffed - because I waited 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me to be seated. I finally got seated at the bar. They did in fact serve the steakhouse menu there - so at least that. But now I'm seated in an after-golf sports bar next to some pretty not-sober folks eating hot wings - which normally wouldn't bother me at all, except I came for a $100 dollar steak, exceptional upscale dining experience, not a sports bar. But I was already there so attempted to salvage. Bartender was relatively attentive but she was clearly slammed and the servers were running around stressed. Again, not the classic steakhouse vibe. I ordered the New York strip medium. The steak came out WAY over salted and unquestionably rare. More like black and blue honestly - definitely not medium and not even medium rare. So I ate half anyway, then paid up then left. I don't write reviews often - but in this case I felt compelled. I came to a top-rated steakhouse, paid top-dollar prices, and got a Texas Roadhouse experience. It is what it is.
