Fried shrimp platter ($15) as of 7/2024
    Timothy H.

I was expecting a sit down restaurant so I was a bit thrown off when we finally found it in a food court along with several other food places. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken, calamari, collard greens, waffles, and a few other things which was about half of the menu. I ended up with the shrimp platter (8 shrimp and choice of fries or Mac & cheese) for $15. Not a bad price. I asked the man which one (Mac and cheese or fries) that people preferred and he dryly responded, "I can't eat Mac and cheese". They didn't have tartar or cocktail sauce; instead it was a Cajun sauce that I would say was mayo, cayenne, creole seasoning and maybe a bit of ketchup. Pretty good. The shrimp were good, although a bit dry. Excellent presentation. Overall, I was really hoping to try the wings, so a bit disappointed with all the stuff they were out of.

This place was great before but we were here on NYE just to be highly disappointed. They were out of fish and lobster so it was slim pickings. We settled for the shrimp and fries and Mac and cheese. The food was okay but like someone mentioned there's no condiments for any food and while that is okay, but when your food is dry and bland you need something to spice it up! The young man that helped us had his earbuds in and was acting like he didn't hear us. It was frustrating and a waste of money honestly.

Good food!! Good service! I love that it is in a food hall. The music and the vibes were great and amazing after a full day of kids. Everyone had fun and ate good food. I like this place has gluten free options on the whole menu. Especially fried fish. It was worth the wait to eat there. I got the crab fries and they didn't last long enough to get a photo (sorry!). When I go back I'm definitely trying the fried catfish.

We decided to split the fried catfish and wings with brussels sprouts. Come on, we had to get some veggie on the plate! Brussels sprouts, "winner, winner chicken dinner" so to speak. Get them, you'll thank me later! Overall, we thought the meal was priced right, plenty for two and a tasty plate for two. Would totally recommend. Catfish was fried and light, not too greasy as it can be and the wings had an interesting flavor, we went with the "wet" Buffalo homemade sauce, was good. Try it out, recommend.

Wings and fries. Sweet and spicy sauce-mild. Needed extra sauce but was very good

Working in Colorado Springs and saw Luchal's had a good rating and was close to our hotel. It didn't disappoint! My coworker had the fish and chicken special with veggie greens. She enjoyed it, especially the greens. I had the 6 piece chicken with fries. My wings were very tasty. I ordered the sweet and spicy sauce and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't too spicy though, so you'll need pepper flakes to kick it up. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. And the location was nice. It looks like it's located in a food mall with several other restaurants and a bar. You have to purchase your drinks separate at the bar. I am considering returning tonight for the catfish!

I've been hearing buzz about this restaurant since I moved here so I was really looking forward to giving them a try. I was looking for a place to get fried catfish and sides that would knock my socks off, unfortunately, that didn't happen this time. I ordered the catfish platter with Mac and cheese. I was very disappointed when I opened the container to find, one (yes just one) piece of catfish and a bowl of Mac and cheese all for $22. I started checking frantically in the bag thinking the rest of the food must have fallen out, and was saddened to realize that was the entire meal. The catfish was soggy and limp and the Mac and cheese was dry. This was not worth $22, I really was rooting for this restaurant to come through with a solid catfish meal, but that wasn't the case. I'm willing to give another dish a try next time, but my search continues for some mouth watering fried catfish.

Luchal's is located inside Coati, a food hall in Colorado Springs. I ordered their Triple Threat platter (includes wings, fried shrimp, and fried catfish), Brussel sprouts, and fries. Definitely large portions and great for sharing if you're there with a group of friends. Their Brussel sprouts were perfectly fried with great texture; wish they were a bit more gentle on the seasoning as it got very salty on the bottom of the plate. The fried shrimps and catfish was good; wish there's some seasoning to the fish to add more flavor. I also enjoy the little spice kick on the wings.

The best southern comfort food in Colorado Springs!!!!! Did I mention its also gluten free From the flavors to the ambiance of the location...all top tier for a nice wine down Wednesday or a good night out on Saturday with the girlies COATI is a must visit. The service at Luchal's we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. See the attached collection of all the tasty meals I've had at Luchals and that you should you go try

The Shrimp Mac and Cheese was AMAZING! I ordered a piece of fried fish but didn't need it. The portions were enough for me to share with the table, so everyone could enjoy my yummy goodness.

I have nothing bad to say about this place right here! One of my favorite restaurants in the Springs and a go to for when I have company back at home. Im from Maryland so I know good seafood especially crab fries and this place reminds me of home! The Catfish fries are a must! Whatever sauce is on top needs to be bottled and sold ASAP!! I love the Mac and Cheese too. Perfectly cheesy and seasoned to perfection. The wings are great too. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything at this place. If im not mistaken this place is also black owned by a woman veteran too!! Even more reason to support this restaurant so please do!!!

Excellent Food and Service! Thank you Chantal for your great service and patience!! Let's just start with the supreme Mac and cheese, amazing!! The shrimp were huge and seasoned to perfection. I also ordered the sampler with fish, wings, and shrimp. Everything cooked and seasoned to perfection! We devoured the food and cleaned our plates like we hadn't eaten in days!! Even my kiddos said we have to come back it's an order. Do yourself a favor and run here and eat to your heart is content, your belly and taste buds will thank you!

The food we had was good. Their website needs to be updated ASAP as most food are no longer available. The seasoning on the catfish and shrimp was really good. I recommend this place. They didn't have cocktail sauce for the shrimp which was disappointing. Next time I'm in town I will stop by.

The Honey Garlic Shrimp! Perfectly cooked and seasoned.

SO GOOD RUN DON'T WALK!! We were looking for southern food in the area and Luchal's did not disappoint! We got the honey garlic shrimp and they were incredible! We devoured the shrimp almost immediately and probably would have eaten the plate too if the portions weren't so generous. The shrimp comes with a sauce choice and our cashier recommended the hot honey or the garlic aioli. The garlic aioli was also amazing and paired perfectly with the shrimp. The shrimp were honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the Colorado Springs / COATI area! The ambiance is great, the service is friendly and the food nothing short of awesome. We'll be back for the mac n cheese next!

I asked her if she could make one with just a little of the cream liqueur, and she said, "Are you going to pay for other one?" I was like, "What the hell?!?! I liked the selections of food offered and was able to narrow it down to 2. I chose the The Hungry Buffalo and chose their bison nachos. It was a simple dish; tortilla round chips, bison, green chili, tomatoes. The menu didn't specify tomatoes and I should have asked. Not fond of tomatoes and there was a lot. Also got a diet pepsi, nothing fancy there. Prices are reasonable, spent less than $20 with tip. Cons: I can see the place getting busy. The green chili on the bison nachos was OK. A little bland with no real flavor to it. I've had better green chili at other casual restaurants. There wasn't a lot of bison on it either. Just a whole mess of soggy chips and bland green chili. Plus the tomatoes took me about 5 min to pick them all out. I wish the menu said tomatoes but that was also my fault for not asking. Would I order them again? No. Recommended? I would recommend the actual whole of a place yes. Food is hit or miss. Depending on what you get. Husband's first experience was sub par but this go around was a little better. I'm willing to go back and try something else. Stars would be 3.5

Instead, they hand you a plastic card embedded with a microchip and invite you to wander around a historic, converted flour mill, conducting small, low-risk experiments on your own nervous and digestive systems. The mechanics are blissfully simple. You hand the host a credit card, they link it to a Golden Mill RFID card, and you instantly become a fully automated, self-regulating consumer. There are forty taps on the main wall downstairs and another sixteen up on the roof. They hold local craft beers, macro brews, ciders, wines, sake and even some premixed cocktails, all metered by the ounce. This setup creates a very specific kind of human delusion. There are a bunch of different places to check out inside, so everyone can grab exactly what they want and still sit together. Today, I specifically visited Call Your Mother, a Jewish deli, and Izzio Bakery. Atmosphere: Since I went right around the time they opened, the atmosphere was exactly what I needed. It was super laid-back and chill, making it the perfect place to get out of the house for a calm morning. As it gets later into the day and through the weekends, I know it gets very busy, but there is plenty of random seating throughout the hall and even some outdoor spots if you prefer. Parking: Parking is going to be street parking. Make sure you read the signs, but it is usually free. Even when the market is busy, I usually don't have to walk more than a block to get inside. So it is a very convenient location for the RiNo area. Service: The customer service throughout the market is great. At Call Your Mother, the cashier was very sweet, and they even text you when your food is ready. Food: The food variety here is incredible. I tried the Sun City breakfast bagel sandwich from Call Your Mother and the hot honey was the perfect balance of sweet and spice on a toasted bagel. For a sweet treat, I went to Izzio Bakery for the Dulce de Leche Queen. The pastry case there looks like something out of a movie. The pastry itself was perfectly crisp on the outside with a delicious yellow vanilla cream and cinnamon on the inside. Overall Experience: Overall, I really enjoy coming here and trying new places. It is a fantastic destination for groups or just a solo morning out. Whether you want a savory breakfast bagel sandwich or a beautiful pastry, The Denver Central Market always hits the spot. I'll definitely be back to explore more.
