I've never had any issues until today. I ordered corn as a side, and when I tasted it, it was old and very watery. I couldn't eat it. I told the waitress the corn was old and tasted off. She didn't seem very interested, and I didn't see her again until I was paying the bill. I've never felt this sick; my stomach hurts, and I've vomited a few times. We had wanted to try this place when they first opened, but we were turned away because it was a friends and family night. I guess we weren't cool enough. So anyway, I was happy to finally get the chance to try it! We went later in the evening, and it had a really nice, quiet ambiance. I really like what they did with the inside decor, the theming and lighting were both really well done and gave the restaurant a great southern atmosphere. Our waitress was absolutely fabulous! She was super friendly and even helped us make a cute little kitty box to go. We feed a homeless cat, and he happens to be a big fan of steak fat. My husband and I both got the sirloin steak. It was cooked beautifully and had this delicious outdoor grill flavor that I really enjoyed. I honestly haven't experienced that style of cooking much since moving to Florida. We both agreed that for $15, the steak is absolutely worth it! My teenager got the chicken fingers, which she loved. She said the chicken tasted really fresh and had very little fat, which is always a plus. They also give you complimentary honey butter croissants as an appetizer. In this economy, we appreciate the little things! They were a nice touch and definitely appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was good, the restaurant looked great, and everyone on the staff was incredibly nice. I've eaten here three times now and I think I can finally give an honest assessment. My first time at Cheddar's was honestly very good. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad, the homemade queso and bacon french fries (essentially a small order of the queso fries), and the Honey Butter Croissants appetizer (see photos). The salad was impressive and the lettuce was fresh, the crispy chicken tenders were a good size, the croissants were warm and tasty, and the fries were nice and hot, and had a great presentation. Note: The fries were not my cup of tea per se, but there was nothing inherently wrong with them. If you enjoy cheesy fries with bacon you'll like them. I just didn't like them personally. Customer service was great as well. The girl at the pickup counter was friendly and my order came out correct. So my first visit would have been 5 stars honestly. The second time I had the RCR Chicken Tender Platter with a side house salad and the broccoli and cheese casserole. While chicken tenders were hot and fresh, the lettuce in the salad was brown and wilted. I was not a fan of the casserole. Third time, I ordered the Chicken Tender Platter again and everything was cold: the chicken, the fries, and the croissant. So my overall rating is 3 stars: -Food quality is inconsistent -On two occasions my food was not fresh -Hospitality on my third visit was lacking, bordering on the verge of rude Final Note: My experiences here have all been take out or curbside. So take this with a grain of salt, as I have not had time to dine in. I do however live about 2-3 minutes away from the restaurant. So the quality of the food was not in any way impacted by distance to travel before enjoying the food. read more

Raw Burger. So let me start by saying I really wanted to like this place the food prices are very affordable and the inside is very inviting. I will have to say I was very disappointed when I asked the waitress what her favorite meal was and she told me to get the burger, once the burger came out it was completely undercooked, it was very big coming out from under the bun, hidden under tomato and lettuce, it looked a little bit grey, but I didn't think too much about it I tend to keep my guard down when it comes to restaurants. Once I bit into the burger, it had no meat resistance. It completely fell apart in my mouth, and I looked down at the burger just to find that it was completely pink on the inside and cold. I ended up ordering something else, but that night I felt pretty sick, I remember the waitress responding with, " the cook is new and he doesn't know how to cook burgers". Overall the service and ambiance was awesome and I am happy we have one in the GNV area. Alex our waiter was so helpful with recommendations on the menu. The food is where I wasn't impressed. Although cheddars in known for their croissants (those were good) but the shrimp just felt like they were warmed up and wasn't what I was expecting to be beer battered. If you're trying to find a place for quick bite this place is good, but cheddars used to be really good back in the day. We had issues the host put 9 people instead of 4 so that was frustrating. When we noticed the error we had them fix it but it led to us waiting longer to be seated. The server we had was great but you can tell there is still a lot that needs to be improved. Food was delicious especially the croissants. I had never been but any restaurant that brings some complimentary bread is already a favorite and those honey croissants were AMAZING! Well we got there and were on the wait list and got seated right away( highly recommend joining wait list ) We had a really friendly server named Luca, and she always checked on us throughout dinner, and apologizing for the delays. We ordered sampler appetizer, there was a issue with the kitchen not receiving part of order from our server, again she apologized. One thing about the appetizer was queso must of been sitting for a bit as it had a thin skin formed on the top so it had to been sitting under a heat lamp. Our drink took almost 40 mins to get from bar to table ?? Again she apologized. Dinner meals took well over an hour to come to the table, both meals came out hot and were delicious. Between our servers positive attitude and the decent meal i decided to give the stars i did. Even with the hiccups , and it being only their 2nd week i guess, lets hope they can improve on wait times and time to table cause it will hurt them in the end if they dont I guess they are already becoming short staffed, as i was told thats why drinks took so long Love the whole look/ feel to their dining area and their open seating., very bright in there, so you easily read menu. Cheddar's occupies what was Bahama Breeze. The big paddle fans are still in place. We were seated at a comfortable booth with a bench and chairs. Good, not too loud, music played in the background. Our server was friendly and efficient. We ordered the spinach dip, which had a lot of spinach with chips, sour cream, and salsa. Two croissants were provided as well. One of ordered fish and chips and the other ordered their classic cheeseburger with French fries. The food was great. Portions were good. Price was $36 which included two soft drinks and refills. I did not find their menu exciting, but they have some basics. I would return for drinks. This isn't a one time visit review but I wish I went only one time. The food here is decent but the total management of this restaurant is just chaos. They limit how much bread you get for free, supposedly, and half of the waiters seem to not be able to remember anything past 10 seconds from leaving the table. It seems the restaurant is exactly designed as Bahama breeze minus one wall that looks new, so it's a decent atmosphere. It just never seems as busy that would indicate the insane wait times for getting a table or waiting on food from the kitchen. It needs some more quality work. read more

My wife and I visited Cheddar's for lunch today, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait for a table, yet there were at least 15 empty tables throughout the restaurant, not including the bar area. It made absolutely no sense to have customers waiting while so much of the dining room sat unused. Once seated, we ordered the Queso Fries appetizer. We were told the queso was made in-house, but it tasted anything but fresh. The cheese was lukewarm, thick, and pasty instead of creamy, and it lacked flavor entirely. While the fries themselves were hot, the queso felt like it had been sitting out for quite some time. My wife ordered the Chicken Wraps. They were overloaded with cheese and condiments while barely containing any actual chicken. The balance and quality were completely off. I ordered the Chicken Tender Platter, and when the food arrived, the chicken tenders were cold. Not slightly warm -- genuinely cold. I sent the meal back and was assured a fresh order was being prepared. A few minutes later, the replacement plate arrived, and unbelievably, the second order of chicken tenders was also cold. Receiving cold food once is unacceptable. Receiving it twice after specifically sending it back is inexcusable and shows a complete lack of quality control in the kitchen. By the time this happened, my wife had already finished her meal while I still had not eaten anything. At that point, I informed both the server and manager that I was no longer willing to wait for a third attempt. I left without eating. What made this experience even more frustrating is that we have visited the Ocala location several times and have consistently had good service and quality food there. This location, however, appeared poorly managed, disorganized, and lacking basic attention to detail. Between the unnecessary wait despite empty tables, mediocre food, and repeated cold meals, this was one of the worst casual dining experiences we have had in quite some time. read more

Came to Cheddar's a few weeks after opening with my sister and niece. It was busy, but that is no excuse for the terrible experience we had. We waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered the Caesar pasta salad with salmon and they bought out a salad with chicken instead. I sent it back and they returned with the salmon salad but this time it didn't have any pasta! At that point, I no longer wanted to eat anything. My niece and sister said their food was so-so. Our waiter was fine, but nothing else about this experience met the basic standard of what one should expect in a restaurant. I would not ever come here again. Waited for an hour for food to be brought to the table and they were not even busy. They brought everything out at once our appetizer, salads and main food. I have never been given everything at once before. My pot pie was caved in and cold so I have no idea how long it was sitting back there. Never again! mashed potatoes were too thick, breading didn't stay on my country fried steak it was suppose to be Texas toast instead it was piece of toasted plain bread, gravy was too thick. Had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table 15 minutes and we had a table waiter came by 5 minutes we ordered spinach dip waited for food ordered food 10 minutes later dip served about 15 minutes. Spinach dip was defrosted birdseye with cheese, so everyone ate the croissants waiting for entrees my father & me had burgers burnt to a crisp (we ordered medium well) ok we ate them wife's chicken grilled entree had broccoli,rice & fries. Sister in law received her chicken salad 15 minutes after we were served seemed like the chicken meals were prefab frozen from Sam's. We've had great experiences at CSK in other states so I'm going to give them a couple months to fix the logistics read more
