The only downside, was my dad having to send his steak back three separate times because it kept coming out bloodier than he likes. To their credit, the staff stayed patient and kept trying to get it right, but it definitely interrupted the flow of the meal. As for my plate, I ordered the ribs with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and everything was spot‑on. The ribs were fall‑off‑the‑bone tender with that perfect smoky sweetness. The mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned well, and the broccoli was fresh with a nice bite to it. Even with the crowd, the kitchen clearly didn't slack on execution. This LongHorn is one of the best I've been to! First, the service is always fantastic. The servers are incredibly kind, quick to get refills, and frequently stop by to ask if you need anything. The food is also always consistently good. We normally order the steak, chicken fingers, and firecracker chicken wraps to start. The steak is seasoned perfectly and always cooked to order. The chicken tenders, similarly, have a great salty flavor and pair amazing with the honey mustard. Came back a week later and service was much better but all the steaks were WAY overcooked. I mean that medium rare came out well done snd medium was shoe leather. I'm not a big steak person so I tend to avoid the chain steakhouses but a colleague said I had to try Longhorn's baby back ribs and brussel sprouts. I went on a Saturday night with a friend and even around 9:30 PM the restaurant was busy. I got half a rack of baby back ribs and they were melt-in-your-mouth, fall off the bone tender. So delicious! In fact, they might be some of the best ribs I've had in years. The crispy brussel sprouts had a perfect crunch with a savory-sweet glaze. I honestly couldn't eat them fast enough. One of the few times I have thought to order more on the spot. The price is decent for the amount of food you receive, although I didn't leave any leftovers to take home. Went to LongHorn and had an incredible experience as usual. Went on a Sunday night and our waiter, Austin R., was the absolute best. We sat down and he immediately took care of us. We ordered the wings and shrimp as appetizers as well as the margaritas. They were cooked to perfection. As we waited for the food, Austin was honest and told us that a cook accidentally dropped my burger and was preparing another one so the wait would be a little longer. We weren't mad or really noticed the wait as we were thoroughly enjoying the apps. Austin also told us because of the wait, he had removed one of the appetizers. That's customer service! When the food arrived it was just as good but between the complimentary bread and apps, we didn't eat much of the main course. We ordered the LongHorn Burger and 9oz Parm Crusted Chicken! I won't be back. The service was awful. I had to wait over 15 minutes to get my drink order taken, to receive my appetizer, get refills, get our salad, or entree. It took over an hour and a half to get our meal. We spent most of that time without a refill. The manager was too busy spending his time(1 hour +) talking with a friend at the bar instead of managing his in attentive staff or helping the hardworking staff on a busy Friday evening. Also, we heard the bartender yelling at her coworkers about the entering in margaritas correctly. As a guest we shouldn't hear the staff yelling at each other. Food was edible. I ordered my steak medium and received a well done steak. I dealt with it because I didn't want to be there until closing. This was my first time trying out Longhorn and I heard pretty good reviews from friends. When you walk in, the ambiance is really nice. It is decorated with a western theme yet still has the feel of a dining experience rather than a casual restaurant. The staff was very friendly, from the moment we walked in to the time of the check. Our waitress, Bri, was very attentive and accommodating. Great service overall. Now for the food. This place is known for its meats, so we of course had to partake in ordering steaks. We got the New york Strip with French Fries and the Ribeye with Loaded Mashed Potatoes. Both meats were cooked to our desired term of MED-RARE. The NY Strip was perfectly seasoned and cooked, it was delicious. The fries were also very good, just a little on the saltier side. The Ribeye on the other hand, had a good flavor but was fully overshadowed by the outrageous amount of black pepper it was covered in. This is coming from someone who likes pepper and spicy foods. For this plate was not spicy, it was just overpowered by the taste of the pepper, to the point you could feel the peppers hit the back of your throat before you could really taste the meat. I had the sirloin with shrimp and the shrimp was cooked beautifully. Plus the cane with some melted butter to dip them (and the steak) into which was nice. Oh Longhorn, you were my favorite steakhouse in Gainesville for a number of years... sadly this title has been taken away from you now. The place hasn't changed physically since it opened, which is neither a good nor bad thing. What has changed is the menu. Since the last time I was there (which admittedly has been a couple of years due to the pandemic) the menu has completely changed, and none of the items that I loved are on the menu any more. Fried calamari as a starter? Gone. Flat Iron steak? Gone. Sad, very sad. So, I guess I have to look at the menu for new items. One thing I have noticed as I have gotten older is that I read the menu much more thoroughly than I used to. Back when I was younger I could go through a menu in sixty seconds and know exactly what I wanted. Nowadays? Five minutes if I am lucky. This time around it was no different, and the rest of the folks I was with were urging me to hurry up. I ordered some wings as a starter, because I hadn't had wings in ages (when the hell did they get so bloody expensive? I mean, I get that prices have gone up, but wing prices have skyrocketed at about twice the pace as everything else!). They were alright, but nothing to write home about. Same goes for the sauce that was applied to them... not all that spicy though I requested the hottest they had. For my main, I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and fries as the side. The sides were fine, and the steak was good... but, I overate. It was just too much food this time around! I should have stopped about halfway through and taken the rest home, but old habits die hard and I went for it. Ah well. I will learn to listen to my body eventually. I eat at this Longhorn Steakhouse regularly, so I've had a chance to observe them over time. It is one of the best mid priced restaurants in town. The best thing on the menu is the half rack of baby back ribs. But im guessing that so many customers walk in wanting steak that it doesn't get ordered often. Its far better than two other nearby rib places. Also good are the Mac and cheese as well as the strawberry pecan salad and the strawberry lemonade. We've had good -- even outstanding -- service. everytime we've been there. The only concern I have is that if you have physical disabilities, its not that easy to get around inside the place. Their tables are far too close together for either a wheelchair or a scooter, nor was there really room under our table for my guide dog to fit -- and we were only 3 people sitting at a table for six. I have enjoyed eating Steaks at the Gainesville FL location since their opening. However a visit on Monday January 20, 2025 was the worst experience ever: the wrong steak was brought out, and they without hesitation admitted the mistake - then they brought out what was supposed to be a Rib Steak - and it looked pathetic, and lacking any appeal and not to mention it looked like the type of steak one would get a a fast food chain with yours eggs. The steak was not edible, dried out and poorly grilled as though half the steak had be frozen before grilling. My wife and I have eaten at every steakhouse in Gainesville and they all have lowered their standards. The only place that has not lowered their standards is Waffle House - I wish we had ordered hamburgers there on Monday. One star rating is more than Longhorn deserves. read more

The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, and our food was delivered to us lukewarm as if it had been sitting out. I ordered a burger and it was dry, lacked seasoning, and was missing lettuce. The bun was very stale. My daughter's filet was tiny and not flavorful. Everyone's food was lukewarm except the mac and cheese. Overall the food was extremely overpriced and terrible. Longhorn is my go to restaurant when I want to casually eat a steak. I absolutely love their seasoned steakhouse wings under the appetizers. My favorite main dish there is the renegade sirloin with the 8 count redrock shrimp. It is delicious every single time I go! This particular visit, I had the sirloin by itself as I had shrimp for an appetizer. The shrimp was okay, nothing to write home about. The steak was amazing! I paired it with a sweet potato and salad.. everything was delicious! As a drink, I had the peach tea.. it was horrible! My friend had the raspberry tea.. it was equally horrible so don't waste your time with the flavored teas. The waiter confirmed that a flavored sweetener is used.. that explains a lot. I had a very tasty chili appetizer and a very good strawberry pecan steak salad. My companion didn't fare as well getting the full rack of ribs that's was very tough. Since we didn't order appetizers, Nick brought out some warm, tasty wheat bread as he delivered our drinks. My wife and I both ordered the fillet and salmon combo, just different side dishes. The twins ordered chicken strips - one grilled and one fried. The salads were fresh and tasty - the mixed as well as the Caesar salad. Did I mention the bread was warm and yummy? Wow! What a great meal! The steaks and salmon were delicious and apparently the spaghetti squash was amazing, according to my wife. I had a loaded baked potato and it was as good as they get.
