Alright so I walk in tell the Hostess two people, she tells me it's gonna be about a 30-40min wait. Ok, no problem.. Give her my number and walk out. I went to Pet Supplies and after that just sat and waited in my car. About 50min pass and still no text. So I called, gave them my last name and asked how much longer for the wait and the lady said they called but didn't get a response. I said well she must've wrote down the wrong number... before I can even finish saying the word "number" the "hostess" cuts me off with a smart ass tone asking what was the number?! I told her and she says we called and nobody answered. I said you know what.... *hangs up the phone on their asses* Because first of all, why you getting on the phone with an attitude?? I almost cussed her thin lip ass out but I just hung up. I even doubled back around the parking lot because I was gonna show them my call log in which I just had a phone call from the time I checked in, so I know it wasn't MY phone or service. Paid for a meal that I received half of and my credit card was overcharged. Brianna was our waitress. Had to ask several times for honey mustard. Called and talked to manager Jessica (?). She asked for my email address, said she would sent me something. I received a 10.00 e-gift card but was charged over $15.00. I have gone to many Cheddars and this is the first main problem I have encountered. I guess because you had one good experience, don't mean you will all the time. Will not return here again. Hike we waited 45 minutes for our food I watched a guy napping at a table who must have been friends with a server because she spent much time eating his fries and drinking his soda. I wish I had read these reviews before going to the Greenville, NC, location. We've been to Cheddar's in Nashville and loved it. Unfortunately, Greenville has a lot to learn about customer service. We were seated fairly quickly and then sat for 30 minutes while 2 servers walked by us repeatedly, ignoring us. They served all of the tables around us, took orders, delivered drinks and food, while we sat. We tried to make eye contact and they looked away or down. It was the strangest thing! I finally said when one server was walking past, "Do we have a waitress?" She briefly looked at me and said, "Let me check." Another 5 minutes or so go by. She came back and made some lame excuse of someone not showing up for work that should have been our server.... I've waitressed before - I know how table sections are given to servers and she and the other server had served the booths behind us and in front of us and all around us. It was a section of 6 booths, all filled and everyone being served but our table. This just seemed like a straight-out lie. We ordered everything at once. My daughter's salad came out and it seemed like everything was back on track. Then we sat and sat more, waiting for our food. After about 20 more minutes, the waitress came back and said they were out of baked potatoes. At 8 pm they were out of baked potatoes. We ordered mashed potatoes and then sat again. The service was horrible. The food came out barely warm. If I'm ever in Greenville again, I will never go to this location of Cheddar's!!! read more

Cheddars has always been a go-to restaurant for my boyfriend and I. We have always recieved good service and good food... until tonight. We were greeted as usual, we ordered drinks, and an appetizer. We waited probably 6-7 minutes for our waters. When we got our waters we ordered our entrees. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our appetizer and when it was sat down in front of us our server told us our food was almost ready and our appetizer had taken too long. Im a server as well, and thats usually meaning 'I forgot to ring in your food'. In about 10 minutes our entrees came. I ate the pineapple salsa off my chicken and I noticed my baked potato was rock hard, I was just going to ask to have another one made when our server came back. She never did. So as I got impatient I decided to cut into my chicken breast. Completely raw. I waited some more time so maybe she would come back and refill our drinks. I ended up getting up and asking some other servers talking in the corner of the restaurant if they could get my server and tell her my chicken was absolutely raw. She came around and took it back to the kitchen. Bringing back a new entree that looked very burnt but I was not in the mood to argue. I asked for a box and my check and we left. This place is sooo cheap. It makes no type of sense. And on top of that, it has a very nice atmosphere. Classy, yet casual. Nothing southern about the decor at all. The food is good. Had the spasagna (spaghetti lasagna) with marinara sauce and cheese (of course) and it was amazing. Just enough cheese, right amount of sauce also. Their drinks were amazingly yummy but the amount of alcohol they boasted about having in them was not what they said it was...The alcohol was served in HUGE margarita glasses for $5.50. I didn't feel a drop of the alcohol from the painkiller drink, which they limit you to 2 of. I felt a good portion of the liquor in the pear 'Rita drink though. If I were back home, I couldn't of consumed that much fluid in that amount of time without stumbling or becoming comatose due to our interesting alcohol distribution in cocktails and such :) Cheddar's is a place I'd return to definitely for atmosphere and the pear 'Rita. read more

Went in here with my boyfriend for lunch everyone was super nice but the problems started when we got our appetizer. We noticed that the bowl that we had ate out of WAS DIRTY. Next we got our food, he got the burger since they were out of the pasta that he wants and there was a strange food splattered all over his plate that looked like red jello. Came here for a mixer event on a Friday evening. Our party was pretty big, and the restaurant itself was pretty packed. I've been to cheddars a handful of times but I've never had their appetizers. Let me just say that they are absolutely amazing! The flavor and the quality are out of this world. I know that typically TGI Fridays is the place that everyone wants to go for appetizers but Cheddar's definitely has them beat by longshot (Sorry. As much as I love TGI Fridays' mozzarella sticks, I just cannot deny this). We had the quesadilla, spinach dip, potato skins, onion rings and chicken tenders. Everything I tasted was absolutely excellent. Fresh ingredients and quality preparation. Best of all, the service was top-notch. Very nice, prompt with getting the food and drinks out and attentive. Have always loved Cheddar's. Now, not so much. We drive 35 miles to get there only to get to go orders which are not correct. Today we ordered steak & ribs and 8 oz. Salmon. We got steak (NO RIBS) and 5oz Salmon (NOT 8oz.). Previously we got a 5oz Salmon when we paid for 8oz. Today we again paid for something we did not get. Cheddars definitely has an interesting concept, but the food isn't exactly something super diverse or memorable. Overall, though, the food is good. I like the Spasangna; I usually pair it with a Caesar salad. Their bar is quite good, though. Many of their signature drinks are some of my favorites, and I usually order at least one when I visit. The wait staff at this location is always so good, too. I've always had positive experiences with the staff and management when they do table checks on customers. So if you're in the area and looking for a nice modern, clean place to grab some comfort food, this is your spot!! read more

Me and my family of five came to visit from out of town. The hostess said the wait was 40 minutes but we could sit at the bar. We go sit at the bar and I was approached by a waitress and she asked me "what do you need". I told her the hostess said we could sit at the bar. I was there a few Sundays ago with some girlfriends. It had been raining and was told a bit short staffed, yet 3 managers were there we were told. No where in sight however. The floor were sticky and wet throughout the restaurant. When our young waitress brought my full rack rib plate with fries,they were the most dark, old and cold fries! I couldn't believe she thought it okay to serve that to me! Having been told there were 3 mgrs on duty, you would have thought one would be overseeing the food quality, but nope. Then, she brought my girlfriends steak with baked potato and butter on the side. That's what she ordered, but what she got was a steak truly swimming in butter. She brought the potato separately. Omg,this poor potato looked like it was the last of the old potato famine! The irony is that it was only my 3rd time to a Cheddars, and I couldn't wait to go. Extremely disappointing. Gave me some old ass croissants, I asked for my steak medium and they gave me a dry ass well done steak. I asked for the 6 oz waitress let me order knowing d well they had been out since 12 pm and it was 5pm . If I could give it no start I would. Because my son ate one croissant and I broke the others they were going to charge me twice to replace them. Forced to choose the a 8 oz and it was terrible . sucky as manager and waitress I don't care if she was alone if she would've provided better service I was willing to pay if only my food was correct but they couldn't even provide that . The atmosphere is nice! Its a bit noisy but its a restaurant right! We were told the wait was 35-45 mins it wasnt bad it was only 3 of us. But a party of 5 came in after us and was told the same exact thing they were seated right away! Which was odd to me. Because when we did get seats it was basically empty in the back of the restaurant! And freezing cold. The table was kind of sticky or greasy not sure what it was that was on the table but thank goodness i had wipes in my bag! The food: the honey butter croissants were over saturated with butter but not to sweet. The spinach dip was bland it had no flavor, the cheese dip was the same, the tortilla chips had so much salt it was insane! I'm like ok these are appetizers lets see about the food! The lemonade was watered down. The margarita was horrible and wasn't blended properly I sent it back. The steak was salty and over done, I asked for medium well and that was way over done . I worked in the kitchen before so I definitely wasn't pleased. The fries were salty, the fried chicken sandwich was salty and it had a gummy taste to almost like it was undercooked but there was no pink it tasted really weird. The burger was bland which was shocking it had no taste. I guess because everything else was overly salty. I wouldn't recommend coming here! I've worked in the restaurant industry for years and this was a slap in the face. I cant say too much about the staff but the waitress was very polite, and punctual she was at the table in no time. I got bourbon shrimp with steak and beer for wait for it......17 dollars!!! boom I went here with my gf to celebrate or anniversary or something she kept talking about LOL. We got in and we were seated within a few minutes. The place has a wonderful little atmosphere, the ceiling fans are an art form on their own. The waitress came over and took our order and asked us if we wanted any appetizers, i said "screw it" and ordered the onion rings. DUDE they were soo damn good i liked my fingers for 3 minutes after i had finished them. I then ordered my plate (the bourbon shrimp) and the same thing happen. Cheddar's advertises itself as a *~caSuAL caFe~* yet it's not very casual. Sure, you can dress casually but everything else like the ambiance (I mean, ambiance at all at a casual cafe means it isn't very casual, right?) and the interior design wasn't very casual. It wasn't much of a cafe either. Maybe it's different for dinners? So don't come here expecting a coffee shop where you can study to mellow background music and linger around for however long you want. It's not that kind of a ~casual cafe~. It's very much a restaurant. Besides that, though, everything was wonderful. It was nearly 7 PM when we walked in for dinner and the place was nearly packed. It's a lot bigger than you think. There's a center room and two other dining areas that are separated from the center room by wooden beams and one side has a random but large fish tank. Regardless, we were seated right away in the center room. The lighting was also very random and actually kind of awkward. Is it supposed to be romantic? I don't know. Our server came up to us almost as soon as we were seated and got us our waters. He came back to check on us a few minutes later (literally right when we had finished deciding on our entrees). We decided to start off with the three treat sampler appetizer. Random but relevant side note: you know what I love? I love when foods that are meant to be crispy are actually perfectly crispy. Each of the samples in that app were perfectly crisped. The bite-sized tater tot mozzarellas, the chicken strips, and the loaded potato skins were all just the right amount of flaky and crispy. I love hearing the sound of that crunch when you first bite in ... And then in the bites that follow. The sauces also went perfectly with all of the samples so you could dip each in whatever sauce you wanted and it would still taste good. My only gripe is that I wish the potato skins had a littttle more potato in them. My bites were very cheddar cheesy. For my entree, I got the chicken fried steak. Confusing name - I think they meant "country" fried steak? Because that's what it was. So don't confuse it with the country chicken fried chicken that's listed under the "chicken" column. This chicken fried steak is under "favorites." Also, the description says it comes with a side of green beans and mashed potatoes and Texas toast, but that's changeable. The waiter actually asked me what two sides I wanted, but I was unprepared for that. He saw me hesitate and look confused so he immediately suggested HIS favorites: the mac and cheese, and the broccoli cheese casserole. Wow I was in for a surprise. The steak was HUGE. I mean, ginormous. The meat was good but I think it could've done better with a lot less breading (though I'll give it to them because the breading on this was perfectly crisp too). The gravy rounded off the dish with just enough spice and flavor. I'm glad I took the waiter's suggestions because the sides were an added bonus to my meal. The broccoli casserole was soooo good. My mac and cheese didn't come with my meal so I had to wait for that, but when it came, I took a bite and was in Mac-heaven. The cheese for that was a little different in that it was less thick and less stringy, but it worked because the flavor was still there and the shells still stuck just enough to each other. The mac and cheese side was a lot smaller than my casserole side though (perhaps because it came out separately?) ...... But I don't think I can even complain because the entire dish was huge. Huge portion of the steak with large servings of the sides - and all for under $10. I to-go'd nearly more than half the meal because it was so large. LONG STORY SHORT: Come here if you want more bang for your buck, with good and quick service, in an awkward and slightly confusing setting. read more

Food is okay and prices are very reasonable. There are several things on the menu that are an odd combo and in my opinion won't very satisfying, but they have a pretty broad menu so there's something for everyone. I have been a few times and only once have had good service. The other times the staff seemed distracted and very slow. I do have to share on experience in particular. I went with a group of friends where we were celebrating one of the individual's last day at work. The waitress we had was by far the worse waitress I've ever had in my entire life. She was rude, slow, snappy, and just unpleasant. I complained to the manager and the corporate office and my complaints were disregarded and not taken seriously. I swore to never go back again but did only bc my mom wanted to eat there. Luckily it was a better experience, but that one bad experience and the lack of their management and corporate office not caring about a complain detours me from eating here. read more

I really enjoyed Cheddar's a lot. I got there the Thursday of the first week they opened. When we arrived and during our dinner we could see countless people waiting to enter and find a table. We were told that it would take and hour and a half to get our table, but a waitress came in and said that there was an open high-chair table by the bar. This was of great convenience and really meant a lot for the impression service wise. Our waitress was nice, maybe a little too nice. Albeit, I was in a sour mood at the time but it really did feel like she was trying to eek our every cent of a tip she could. I know that's how she makes her money, but really. It took a long time to get our food, but that was mostly because there was a lot of people. It was noisy, but of course it just opened. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and had enough left over for the next day. When I took my first bite my heart melted and everything about it was delicious. Unfortunately, everything was very very salty. On my fries I could see giant salt granules and had to strip them off just to not have it be overwhelmed. My burger also at times was inedible because it would be entirely too salty. All in all, it was great, just lower the salt. Everything is also reasonably priced. read more

Let me first say that I've always enjoyed Cheddar's and during college it was one of my favorite places to visit. Though I graduated years ago, it still remains on my list of places to hit up when I'm in town for good food for a low price. Earlier this month my friends and I found our way to Cheddar's on a Friday evening during homecoming weekend. Though it was a crowd and we had already put our name on the list, someone in our party saw the bar section with the high top tables completely empty. They asked a staff member if we could sit there and they said yes which resulted in us taking our name off the list for a table. Big mistake. We waited forever just to get service and I'm pretty sure this was only after someone had to ask. It seemed as if maybe there was only one girl working the section as it seemed like several of tables around us were getting putting frustrated. The weird thing was that even though we were busy not receiving service, there were several employees who just seemed to be...around. No real rush, or concern unlike their counterpart who clearly had a lot on her plate. The one saving grace and the reason it received two stars was that my food was actually good. The salmon had a really nice flavor and the broccoli casserole was bomb was usual. Sadly, the service overshadowed what I ate. read more

Went there in October for my husband's birthday. We ordered drinks, and meals. We just got our meals handed to us when we were told to get out be cake they had a gas leak. We didn't have to pay for anything. But we weren't given any type of gift card or anything for our trouble. We had sat there for 45 minutes and had to find somewhere else to go for lunch. We avoided this place since then, but last night we decided to go again. The service was awful. Our waitress never stopped at our table but walked by fastly picking up our empty glasses and replacing them while on the move, no conversation. Our food took forever to come out, at least 45 minutes. The manager offered us a free dessert but even then, the damage was done. Sucks because this place used to be great. read more
