Cheddars seated us promptly and the wait staff was quick, friendly, and professional with the decadent complimentary croissants arriving nearly after we sat down. The croissants were fresh, fluffy, and melted in your mouth. Each member of my table received their food hot each dishes equally as mouth watering as the last. The food came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Not to mention the beautiful design of the restaurant. Amazing ambiance, amazing staff/service, and amazing food! Called 2 hrs before arriving inquired about reservations for party of 10. We arrive at the restaurant and tried to seat us at 2 separate booths. Talked to manager about seating in all the open areas she said no even though they confirmed they could accommodate us. Unprofessional. read more

I've had Cheddar's a few times. First time was in a different city and it was REALLY good! I was so excited when we were getting one in Jacksonville, and have had it multiple times here but every time I go it's disgusting. I went the other day with my family, and 3 out of 7 of us had to take our food back. Meat was under cooked, gave meat sauce instead of marinara sauce, and rice wasn't cooked. Our waitress was also pretty slow when their were hardly any customers. Last times I went my food wasn't good at all. I'm never coming back to Cheddar's! read more

And waited and waited and waited the waitress brought my husband's drink (vodka and soda) 20 minutes later and said the bartender had messed up my drink and it would be right out. At 6:45 we decided to get up and leave since nor my drink or apps ever made it to us. And the waitress went missing along with it all. On our way out I told the hostess what happened and why we were leaving. All we got was an "alright I'll let her know" you would think she would tell the manager or something. Nope not here. Stopped in for a carbo load dinner prior to the Marine Corps Half Marathon. It was recommend by the staff at the hotel and it did not disappoint. High quality comfort food. Got to taste both the rib eye and ribs. Both were well cooked and the sides were just as good! read more

The whole concept of this place is a "made from scratch kitchen" this place is a FRAUD . The only thing made from scratch was our drinks. This place is basically an mores expensive Applebee's but less quality. The menu had 50+ items on it, there is no restaurant in the world that has so many items on the menu made from scratch. I had the half rack of ribs and was throughly disappointed. The other person had the salmon and shrimp combo; both very basic. The plating on both trays where horrible. Very little effort. Our server didn't know what tequilas they offered. I wouldn't expect much nor would I recommend. Long story short save the money and you can make a better meal at home. If you are drinking expect $40 per person, so not worth it. not to mention we had floating objects in our drinks. If you like drinking from dirty glasses and over priced foods. But I can't even consider returning even if it was the only thing open. read more

First off to start it off i havent been to cheddars in the last 3 years but recently i decided i wanted to go there again and unfortunately after 2 attempts in the last 2 weeks they were unsuccessful all because of the disrespectful hostess at the front the first time she said "there was a 30 min wait and that they close at 11" and me and my wife went in at 10:40 so we left because i guess apparently you deny people from eating when we clearly walked in before 11 and she didnt even properly greet us. The second incident i had with the same hostess it was a few days later and this time we came around 6:30 she was on her phone not paying any attention to us and she said again that there was a 30 min "wait". Im beyond pissed off with cheddars. Someone needs to talk to sense into her. read more

Great gathering spot for group dinner after church. The atmosphere is comfy and we were seated quickly. Food was hot & fresh as well as reasonably priced. Dinner with apps & drinks for 5 for under $100. Blackened salmon & meatloaf were good but the favorite item was the onion ring appetizer. Make sure to try the broccoli cheese casserole. Croissant came first, but the new recipe is very sweet. Save them for dessert! read more

I've been here 3 times now and am still unimpressed. The service falls way short and the food isn't much better than the service. This is a good place for kids and they have reasonable prices. If those are the only things important to you, by all means, try it out. In the 3 times I've come, the servers haven't been on their game, the food timing is horrible (appetizer coming out 2 minutes before the entrees, requesting kid's meals come out first but they come out last) and the food is just ok. Note to Cheddar's: When a customer orders a Chicken Pot Pie off the menu at 11:45am, it is unacceptable for the waitress to tell me I have to order something else because they didn't make any Chicken Pot Pies that morning! read more

The restaurant is brand new and thought I would give it a try. The overall appearance looked great, but you dig a little deeper and you find that the service is horrible. We ordered the chips and queso for starters and 5 minutes later we were told they were all out and had to make more. So we ordered spinach artichoke dip and once again they told us they were out and making more. Hmmm so finally decided on the texas cheese fries. These were good but way too greasy for me! I got the Key West Chicken which was very good. My husband got buffalo chicken wrap and that was also good. Overall, the food was good and the prices were fair. Over time, hopefully Cheddars can get their new management going and provide better service. read more

We've been to Cheddar's a few times since my last review and have not had any of the bad experiences of the other reviewers. We've never waited more than 20 minutes to be seated, haven't had to wait for placing orders and have received the food in reasonable times. I live on Western Blvd and I have wanted to check this place out for a while. My husband and I went around 12:30 and the inside was pretty interesting. I expected it to be a normal burger joint and look a bit like Chili's or Ruby Tuesday but it was a bit fancy. The menu had lots of choices and was pretty affordable. My husband chose the Chicken & Waffles and I chose the Dijon Chicken. Chicken & Waffles: His chicken tenders were delicious, crunchy and a pretty big size. The waffle was fluffy and beautiful with powdered sugar and syrup. Seriously a GREAT pick. Dijon Chicken: The chicken was really good, seasoned and the perfect texture. It was laid on top of rice and all topped with a delicious mustard sauce (granted it tasted more like honey mustard than Dijon) And sauteed button mushrooms that were AMAZING. You choose 2 sides and I picked the fries and green beans. The only complaint I have is that the rice and green beans were unseasoned and just not flavorful at all. Other than that it was great. Service was fine, our waitress was nice and helpful. She could have come to check on us a bit more but other than that she was good. I will definitely go again and would recommend that you try it for your self. The menu has so many interesting things that are not common in restaurants of the area. Shepherd's pie, pot pies, etc. Their onion rings are delicious, and the dipping sauces are yummy. What first caught my eye on the menu was how cheap everything is. Fantastic prices for families on a budget. The menu items are very varied, and made in house so they're fresh. What really impressed me overall was the attention we received from the staff. My family has very serious allergies, and when we asked about menu items, the waitress knew her stuff. The manager even came by to double check to make sure that everything we were ordering would be safe for us. She even knew where things were shipped from and how they were made. I really appreciated that attention. When we received our orders the portions were HUGE. You can easily split a plate with a dining partner. Everything was fresh and tasty, and we got our drinks refilled promptly. I love the ceiling fan that moves in the main entrance. Its a very pretty and unique contraption the kids love watching. I have issues with sensory overload, and this place was nice to my nerves. The windows are tinted so its not glaringly bright, there's no loud music playing, the building does great for noise absorption no matter how big the crowd is. The decor and furniture is darker toned, so nothing obnoxiously bright to give me a headache. I really love this restaurant, and have been there several times. The only thing I've ever disliked was the 99 cent desert shot cake things. They're convenient and a neat idea and well priced. They didn't taste good to me. Either the product had too many chemicals in it, or the glass had soap residue in it from being cleaned before use. They were immediately comped off of our bill, which we actually were not expecting or asking for. read more

The Chicken Fried Steak was extremely over cooked to the point of shoe leather and the string beans boiled to mush HOWEVER the waitress and manager would not have it and had the entire dinner replaced which ended up being spot on. I think the overcooked food was the exception so the jury is still out. I think I will eat there once more and verify. read more

I have been to Cheddar's several times and had the worst experience tonight. First, the hostess wrote the wrong number for our pager so our wait was almost an hour instead of the 15 minutes promised. They never called our name or looked for us. Then she seated in the bar, which was freezing and not wear we wanted to sit. She threw our menus on the table and kept walking, not even acknowledging if we were at the table. The manager moved us and assured us we would have the best server. It took another 10 minutes for the server to come take our drink order. It took forever for him to bring our drinks, extras napkins, and food. When our food arrived bed it was cold and soggy. The manager apologized and offered us a free appetizer but the overall experience was just awful. What should have been a tasty, pleasant meal was so disappointing. read more

Food was good. But they have a roach problem. Not the big water bugs. But the German cockroaches, it crawled next to my husbands arm. I love the food but an exterminator says there's a problem when they are out crawling next to you. I can't eat there again. We told the waitress and she said she would let someone know. That was it. It's July 18th. 2017 and I've been in Jacksonville for almost 5 weeks and I've been disappointed in every restaurant I've tried even franchises. This place was 5 minutes walking from my hotel, I've always noticed the crowd anytime of the day. Until I finally decided to try it based on few friends recommendations, I even decided to try the chicken pot pie eventhough I'm not a chicken pot pie lover. I was pleasantly surprised and I'm not easily surprised. Eventhough the place was packed (literally) I was seated in less then 5 minutes and I got a good table too. My waitress Fatima was really pleasant. The noise level in the place is extremely hig, one can hardly hear one's self thinking, but I guess that is inevitable due to the nature of the place as a southern home dining experience, also due to the popularity of the place and the fact that it's always crowded. I started buy ordering the onion rings (again I'm not an onion rings fan), yet again I was pleasantly surprised the presentation was awesome, one can tell the care and time that were given to the preparation of this simple appetizer, individually battered slim rings, fried to a crisp not saggy, not oily. The two dipping sauces that it was served with were awesome too. Then followed by the chicken pot pie, and wow you can see and taste freshness in everything the crust was soft and flackey, the vegetables inside tasted so fresh, the chicken were tasty white meat in a alight creamy not salty sauce. I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup, it was O.K. and extremely salty. I know that chicken tortilla soup is salty but this one was really really salty. The best surprise was at the end with the bill, this place is not only delicious but easy on the wallet too. It was actually cheaper than a fast food place. read more

We decided to have a late lunch at Cheddars. We were seated immediately upon our arrival and our server greeted us fairly soon. I ordered the Smokehouse burger based upon our waitress' recommendation between the burgers. The burger was juicy, cooked well with just the right amount of BBQ sauce which complimented the beef. My companion ordered the meatloaf with broccoli casserole. The casserole was more rice and cheese than broccoli. The dish boasted two large slices of meatloaf. Well, it's Cheddar's. With low-priced casual dining, you get what you pay for. I ordered a chicken sandwich that was supposed to come on ciabatta bread. I know the difference between a hamburger bun and ciabatta bread, and what I got was definitely a bun. However, the sandwich was pretty tasty, and you can't beat the price. The french fries were also good, and the service was friendly. That's a lot better than most restaurants in Jacksonville. read more

The ambience here is very casual with a nice vibe. Our server had s nice personality but with essentials like extra napkins, extra sauce etc. she was just slow. My tortilla soup came out lukewarm but my salad was great. But can you really mess up a salad? My hubby ordered the monte cristo but sent it back for ribs. The ribs were good. The inside is beautiful. There is a large fan in the middle of a dining room that is fascinating, but service is ok. Food was great and filling. I ordered the fish tacos and these are not ordinary fish tacos they are different and quite tasty! Dessert was incredible! My nieces husband is a big guy and he had plenty to eat! I gave this place three stars because I did not like the way we were given a survey to fill out right as we were about to start eating. I think this should be done after drinks and appetizer are served. The waitress was not attentive to refills either. Nice place and would go back but will hope for better wait experience. read more

We ate here on a Friday (pay day) evening. Get there early to beat the crowds. We showed up around 6:30 and didn't have to wait.
