Just came in for a take out order. Initially the bartender was helpful but that changed quickly. There's two of them behind the bar, at this moment, and neither of them 1) makes eye contact with customers, 2) anticipate that you might want another drink, 3) is remotely friendly. While the food is decent, the service is consistently crap, especially in the bar area. Couple of tips: get your bartenders off of waiting tables and teach them to talk to people. read more

My family and I were in need of lunch and Cheddar's seemed to strike the right vibe. Walking in, the music was blaring!! I was very put off by this as it was especially loud in the entryway. I hoped it wasn't as loud in the dining area and it wasn't as bad. If you're having a migraine day though you may just want to avoid this location. Otherwise its an upper scale facility and very nice. I give 3.5 stars for ambiance. The facility appears to be very clean so I'll give 5 stars for cleanliness. The waitress was polite and attentive to our needs, however, she was not very interactive and never cleaned a plate from our table, so we give her 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the dijon chicken which was very heavy on the mustard flavor. I love it but if you aren't a mustard fan, steer clear! My husband had the Philly cheese steak and while the meat was well seasoned and flavorful, I'm pretty sure they ruined it with the pretty when melted but otherwise tasteless white American cheese. I'm just obsessed with this place. So is my dad so it's somewhere we always go when he's in town. Croissants are so good. Scrumptious. I get everything from the steak, shrimp, ribs to the chicken tenders. They are very good at cooking your steak to the temp you asked. I also love the salad. I got a buffalo wrap, very salty, the pickles didn't really go, it made it even more salty. My husband asked for a medium-well burger, got it well done where he received it. The strips are good. Cheddar's is a CLASSIC in Lansing and the New Orleans Pasta is one of its staples. Soooooo good! They've changed their recipe over the years and they keep the tail shell on the shrimp now but it has not taken away from the mouth water that comes when the waiters comes with your food. It's been way too long again but we finally made it here for dinner. My wife, as always, stuck with her favorite Bourbon Glazed Salmon seared with Corn and Broccoli sides, delicious as usual. I, on the other hand, need time to pick from the menu because I have tried quite a few items and really enjoyed them all. It had a sweet batter around the meat and cheesy and was fried, so it came out a little greasy. The garlic tilapia and shrimp is another one of my favorites and it did not disappoint. Lastly, my significant other got the the Buffalo chicken wrap with grilled chicken and he wasn't a fan. He probably won't be ordering that one again in the future. Jess went above and beyond our expectations to make sure we were satisfied in every way possible. Think of this place as a classier Applebee's. The food is really good at a very reasonable price. The thing that makes this place stand out are the drink specials. The drinks that you can order are amazing and they range from five dollars to seven dollars. It is a great place to go hang out with the group and enjoy some good food and drinks without breaking the bank. A definite must. You should definitely try the appetizer sampler platter. Yet, it took 4 minutes before someone noticed us standing at the host station, and when they did, they just yelled "someone is at the door". Once we were seated, we waited 10 minutes before our server noticed us - and that's only because we pressed the "call server" button on the table kiosk. Note, she was also the bartender, and we were sitting in her presence for the duration of this time, but she was too busy looking at her phone to give us any attention. The flashing red light on our kiosk must have annoyed her, because instead of actually greeting us, she walked passed our table, said, "I'll be right back", as she lazily attempted to mute the flashing red light. That was it for us - we got up - and left. We tried... but never again, Cheddar's. All around, thumbs down. read more

He put it in as an adult entree (which is over double the price and doesn't include the$3 drink. ) He never came back to see if our appetizer arrived (it didn't), so we had to request it to be canceled, but it was still on our bill. Ordered the family deal for salmon and chicken from the menu at the very top of their website. Very nice server put it in only to have a manager very rudely come over and unapologetically tell us they would not be able to serve us our meal as that is only for take out. After explaining it was on the website and it states that no where he continued to state that it doesnt make sense, its false advertising and that he doesnt care and will not serve it to us. Youd expect the management to know how to deal with customers, not make the situation worse than it had to be to begin with. Really didnt care about the inability to order off their own menu... but the manager today should be demoted to janitor with those customer service skills. Promote the waitress. read more

I think Cheddars have a great concept, great tasting food with ton's of options and affordable. I wish they had restaurants in the Detroit area as well. We came here on a Saturday night after 7.30 PM. I expected a 30 minute wait but we were seated immediately. They have a good variety of drinks. I like flavored ice tea and they have awesome mango ice tea which is a plus in my book. The ambience was really nice at this location as well, the restaurant feels very updated. We ordered the queso with ground beef. So far this is the ONLY restaurant I've been to in Michigan that actually makes queso like the queso I had when I lived in Texas. This is a REALLY good queso, I could probably make it the main meal! I opted for the blackened salmon. For some dishes like the salmon you can actually get the lunch sized serving which I think is great. It was good and the broccoli I had with it was quite good. It was the Sweetest Day so of course you have to eat something sweet. We opted to go with the monster cookie Sundae. It was Texas-sized, you definitely will want one other person to share it with you. The service was good during our visit. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. read more

Went here for the first time and the food was good. I got the famous chicken tenders and they were alright. Not the best but not the worse. They had more crispy mess than chicken. However, they were cooked nicely and had a good crunch. I also got lemon pepper chicken and was cooked nicely and okay too. I also got the dijon chicken and mushrooms and it was alright. I arrived at Cheddars 7/30/2023 at 3:18 PM and did not have a pleasant meal. I ordered the kids penne alfredo pasta. I would just like to honestly say this was very dry. Barely any sauce added. I took 5 bites and was DONE. I recommend adding more sauce. This pasta was very un amusing to consume. This wasn't even the first time. I have been here before and every time i order the pasta, i'm disappointed, dissatisfied, and disgusted. That's not even it. I am sad that I can' t give negative stars for the service and food that we received at this location. If I had not been a server for about 5-6 years of my 30+ years in customer service I can promise you that I still would not make plans to return to your place. However, I really should get to the point of the issues so you can understand the huge amount of disgust and extreme lack of service and food quality. Now I am not sure how you feel about flipping tables but when it takes over an hour and a half to eat at your restaurant, I can guarantee that your servers are not making money which is why they dare leaving and are hard to retain. Then again, with the servers that you have I can tell why your customers do not come back. Our waitress upon our arrival may have had a total of 4 tables, still took her almost 10 minutes to bring your complimentary croissants to our table, basically demand our drink order and when we tried to order the appetizer was short with us and asked if we were ready to put in our food order too. Now, please let me give credit where credit is due, the croissants were delicious and were the only HOT thing to come to our table that we didn't have to request it be hot. (See the start of the problem here.) Now I live in Chicago and am back visiting my parents who could not stop talking about your Queso and Chips. Well trust me after waiting for almost 30 minutes for it and it arriving to the table not even warm, maybe just two degrees above room temp their tune quickly changed. The fact that we order it with ground beef and it did not arrive with any was disappointing. The fact that the waitress waited until we questioned it to tell us that it was no longer available, due to the Menu change "Because of the Pandemic" was not only disappointing but a bait and switch situation. When we asked that it at least be hot, and not room temp. we were give some sorry excuse that you didn't have any, and you had to go get it, and then heat it up which is why it took so long.... So What you promote as homemade queso is made somewhere else and you had to go get it at 2pm in the afternoon... .and you didn't realize that you didn't have a signature dish for your lunch or dinner rush??? Help me understand that because that seem like your chef should be fired as well. What's is even more disappointing is that at this point the waitress demands we remove the queso from the plate that it is on and put it on a different plate (NONE WHICH WERE CLEAN) so that she should take it back to the kitchen to put it in the microwave, over heat it and then bring it back to the table and drop it off with the comment "That should be hot enough for you." Ummm.... ?? Hot enough for us??? WTF? Once again she drops it on the table, demands the plate that some chips on it and walks away... Not that long after she drops the microwaved soupy and gritty finally heated queso on our table she drops off cold soup, and then brings our meals out which should have been hot, but as we are not approaching an hour after ordering it I am not sure what we should have expected, a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Cold fries, Check, Chicken Fingers and cold Fries, Check, A Smoke house burger and cold fries, CHECK. WOW.... Like we should have expected anything else right.... So like any disappointed customer I requested to speak to the manager, who felt it was more important to discuss the zone chart for dinner service at 3:30 in the afternoon over dealing with a PAYING customer who has issues. But seriously what did I expect after the service and cold food that we just received. Apparently your staff does not feel that customers happiness or their returning patronage is important to keeping their jobs. I would recommend closing this location. read more

Visited on Memorial Day Weekend on a Sunday. Pretty packed place but seated quickly and served at a decent time too. Table ordered a Cherry Limeade and Texas Frozen Swirl, both which were amazing. I had the Chicken and Shrimp with broccoli and the broccoli casserole while my bf ordered the steak and ribs. My food was pretty decent. It was a very well seasoned entree that was definitely filing. My bf's plate on the other hand was not too pleasing. He ordered a well done steak and that steak was so dry! He said the rest of his plate was good but that steak was hard to cut into and had not one ounce of moisture in it. A handful of us got our orders but several in our group had to wait quite awhile before they were served. Once the first set of us were served the waitress disappeared. Several of our dishes were cold upon being brought to the table. There were several items missing which didn't come out timely and threw off the whole dinner. The food here is most definitely not made from scratch. I was really disappointed with the food and the presentation. The one thing that did taste good was the broccoli but it was heavily seasoned on some and not seasoned at all on other. The meal was disappointing. We won't be returning. read more

For the sides, I initially received corn, the wrong side (- 1 star); the mashed potatoes was ok; and, the coleslaw was decent, I was actually able to tell that it was made from scratch, it just needs more sauce. The other - 1 star comes from my waitress. Initially, she was fine but slowly it went down hill. Long story short, it took her an hour to bring my bill once I asked for it.
