While this place is typically busy - we got seated rather quickly this evening. Table for four - waitress came around rather quickly to get drink orders.... and to take our food order after the drinks came out. Two maple bacon chicken sandwiches- a chicken pecan salad and a 8 oz steak (cooked medium). Seemed to take a long time for the food but the waitress did drop odd four butter croissants which were Fabulous! Waited a long time for food - it came all was good but the steak was way over cooked! We debated sending it back but in the end asked the waitress if this was what they considered medium and even she said it was overdone and scooped it away to get a replacement - well I. The mean time we all finished our other meals and still ... no replacement steak :(. The waitress came to check in us - saw this and flew back to the kitchen to see what was the matter.. and to explain to us that it was a bad day there today - that many steaks went back - she seemed to be having a rough day .. almost to the point of tears... felt really bad for her Manager then brought the steak out asked that we cut it to make sure it was cooked ok and when asked - explained that they had a mass exodus and lost a lot of their people to a new restaurant that just opened - again feel bad but not my issue. He did comp the steak dinner and gave us a couple app coupons to make up for the trouble All in all - food was good - service was beat it could be given the circumstances and would go back ( that chicken sandwich rocked). read more

If you love the taste of homecooked meals and large portions, your at the right restaurant. Ordered the 14 Oz. Ribeye with baked potato and side salad. Also the country fried steak which comes with two side, chose mashed potatoes and side salad. A biscuit comes with your meal but one is never enough. This is my favorite spot in The Highlands. The menu changed a bit :( but they still have a lot of food & drink options. The painkiller (limit 2 per customer) is my favorite menu item. Like at a minimum the manager should have visited our table to apologize. Nope not here. On the way out I asked if the person at the door was a manager she said yes. I told her about the rotten lettuce and that it was on the booth table for her to take a look. She said sorry, I'll check on it. Not the biggest fan of chain restaurants but then there is Cheddars...Anytime we travel my family and I look to see if there is a Cheddars nearby. Our visit today did not disappoint. We arrived at 4 on Fathers Day. While the parking lot did not look overly crowded, due to the social distancing practices we had a 20 minute wait. When we were seated our waitress was very attentive. We had two steaks with different sides, a kids chicken fingers, and I ordered the chicken fried chicken. All of us enjoyed our meals, portions are very generous. The consistency across this restaurant chain is amazing. Service is always flawless, food is great, and the price point is very competitive. I will continue to patronize this restaurant and only wish I had one closer. You won't be disappointed with your meal or experience. read more

I have been to Cheddar's a few times, and I have to say this is one of the better ones! All of our food was on point. and the service was up to speed. The prices are amazing. We ordered spinach dip as an appetizer. It was quite delicious. We also ordered, steak, chicken pot pie. a club sandwich, and potato soup. The sandwich and potpie both came with a salad, the salads were huge! Very tasty! Our total for everything was only $37.00+. The waitress was kind and attentive. We appreciated this due to the crowd. It was packed, and yet it wasn't too loud. Everything was mostly clean and organized throughout the restaurant. The bathrooms had a nice smell to them, which was a plus. My first time trying this place and will not be my last. My boyfriend took me here because my favorite, Cracker Barrel, wasn't in the state and this was actually BETTER than my favorite C.B. The fish and shrimp was absolutely a yes. My only wish is they gave more than just three shrimp. My boyfriend ordered the 8oz. steak and said it was the best he's had in a long time & the garlic butter was a hit. My peach sweet tea was delicious and then I ordered one Texas Sweet Tea. I'm a tiny person.... needles to say, I was walking out a little drunk. I am not one to order chicken tenders, but it is necessary to order them here because they are so good!! If you love sauce like I do, their ranch and honey mustard are delicious. I will say that the queso is just mediocre and we could pass on it next time. It is always very busy each time we visit. Tip: sit in the bar area, it is seat-yourself and there always seems to be tables open because I feel not everyone knows this. Good food at a fair price. 3 stars for now as this was just my first time eating here. I was a little overwhelmed with the menu as there were so many different food options to choose from. I guess you can call that a good thing. I just wish there were some pictures of the food on the menu instead of a whole bunch of words. I ordered the Monte Carlo (?) sandwich. It stood out to me as the bread that it came in was deep fried in funnel cake batter and sprinkled with powdered sugar! What?? And in the sandwich was turkey, ham, and cheese. It seemed interesting so that's what I chose. It tasted pretty good but I was expecting it to be sweeter? My taste buds were really confused and didn't really know how to react. I'm amazed this restaurant is still in business. The reviews about bad service are absolutely correct. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I've had in the last decade. Horrible waitress, super unorganized hostess, AC cranked down so low it's basically a refrigerator. The only food we received before we had to just walk out was a "Caesar salad" with no dressing that the waitress argued with us about before taking it back to the kitchen to add dressing (wtf?), and a spinach dip that looked and tasted like it was made last week. While ordering appetizers, the waitress took 1 order from the table and just walked away. That order wasn't complete and there were still other things we would have ordered. I wish I got her name because I would absolutely name drop her here. God she has such an awful attitude. I'm sure in a few years when they hopefully go under, the people who buy the place will be far better off. The building is nice, the experience is terrible. My fiancé and I will NOT be returning. RACIST general manager. Me and my family went here yesterday after a day of swimming. This was our first time here and left in a loss of words! While being seated a waitress came over bringing biscuits before we sat down which was great. My boyfriend ordered a gallon of lemonade no ice the pitcher which wasn't a gallon came back with ice I did remind her we said no ice she stated in a very hostile attitude "we aren't allowed to waste it " which I didn't understand what she was trying to say but I didn't say anything. Being that we never been here before we reviewed the menu before coming so we tried to order two family dinners which we seen online and was advised that it was taken out only which wasn't a problem we ordered and was waiting for a takeout while waiting we ordered an appetizer and I got a cheesecake to go When she brought the cheesecake it was and I did apologize stating I'm sorry I wanted that to go as well. Once our food came we left a a tip and spent about $100 there when we got in the car we noticed our biscuits were missing from the two family meals we ordered. We went back and I asked for a manager a manager came from the back. I advise we were missing or biscuits and she said well you got seven when you sat down which we didn't ask for those seven, but we didn't say anything we took the five biscuits and she had a very snooty attitude which I ignored at first when she came back with the five biscuits I said being in customer service you should've apologize for forgetting or biscuits first and she said I'm not apologizing to you. You were mean to our waitress, which was a shock to me and my boyfriend, we sat there with our kids very respectfully and waited more than an hour for our food to be done and I don't know how we were to the waitress. She was very rude. Her name is Ashley the general manager, and I will be reporting her to corporate as well. She told me to leave her establishment. I don't know if it was the fact that we were African-American, which maybe they don't see a lot which maybe the waitress just had an attitude she had to wait on us and again when the general manager came from the back, she already had an attitude, it was a racial hostile altercation with the general manager ASHLEY she needs to be fired her customer service hospitality. She does not have any of that. She needs to be retrained and maybe Moved down to dishwasher if she is not able to interact with customers with respect that it's given to her. I will never go here again. Never have been talked to in such a manner by someone who is supposed to be in Management in my life and I will be making sure that there is some resolution to this incident. read more

Loved it! Great patio with a waterfall if you like to dine outside. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I had a grilled chicken and bacon sandwich with fries which was delicious. The drinks stole the show. I had a watermelon drink with Tito's vodka and it was phenomenal. I highly recommend this place. They bathrooms are clean too. I always appreciate that in a business. I give this place some serious credit for being able to seat me and my family close to closing time, and still providing us kind and attentive service. Our waitress helped my dad with his food allergies as much as she could; she even asked her manager and the cooks for the exact recipe for the baked potato soup, and when my dad figured out he couldn't eat it, she switched it out for their tortilla soup. At the time, we shared a spinach dip for an app, which is one of those dishes that is difficult to mess up, and also essential when you are starving. This was my first time eating at Cheddars. The only impressive things were the cool ceiling fan (which we were not seated at) and the large aquarium they have. Other than that Stay Away! It was not busy inside the restaurant but we waited over 5 minutes for our waitress to ask for our drinks. We ordered an appetizer and our meal. It took about 20 minutes for our appetizers, Wisconsin Cheese bites, to come out of the kitchen. The waitress handed me the plate. I was a bit uncomfortable taking the plate because I had no idea how hot it may have been. Thankfully it wasn't too warm, but usually the waitress sets the food on the table for you. The cheese bites were bland and oily. Then another 10 minutes for our entrees. Once again the waitress "handed" me my plate of food. My husband had the white fish and fries. I had the chicken tenders and fried shrimp with sides of macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. Everything was super bland. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were tiny servings and appeared to be thrown on my plate. Chicken and shrimp were super oily. Thankfully there was a restroom nearby an hour later because my stomach got upset from the nasty oils they use too cook with. We drove 45 minutes out of our way to try this particular restaurant and was completely disappointed and disgusted by it. I will NEVER go back again. Stopped on a Wednesday after work with some coworkers. The place wasn't busy and we were seated right away. It wasn't my first time in a Cheddar's and was aware of their wide range of menu items. Our server was polite. Our food was just okay. Good, but nothing special that would warrant a mention. The reason for 3 stars was the service and I am being generous with 3. The waitress claimed that there was a gas leak earlier in the day that had them behind schedule. Not very impressed. We arrived and the door was locked but there were people inside. About 5 minutes later a girl came out and said she has to lock the door due to covid. I can understand that but at least let your customers know by leaving a note at the door so they know what is happening.
