I've eaten here for over 15 years, largely when it was located in North Wheeling. I've essentially always ordered the same thing, but have had most of the menu with others. I often stop by if I'm passing through town. Everything on the menu is not great, but if you get the right thing you'll have a great meal. The best thing on the menu is the stuffed shrimp. You'll be hard pressed to find a better order of stuffed shrimp anywhere else, certainly in the area and likely just about anywhere. Other apps including the fried zucchini and stuffed peppers also very solid. I always get the pastrami sandwich. Reliable, solid, well executed sandwich. French dip also a good pick. Chicken or beef tips, and open faced turkey/beef dinners also decent picks. Worth a stop if you're passing through. Get the shrimp and you're guaranteed to at least be happy with those. read more

This is the BEST place around! We were referred here as we're moving to the area and they were not wrong! Two nights in a row and SABRINA + KIMBERLY were the most amazing and attentive bartenders! This used to be my favorite place to come for their stuffed banana peppers. They HAD no equal. But last two times something is off. The portion is way smaller, but that's ok if the taste was the same as it used to be. The stuffing is not as good. I hope if they did change their recipe, they will go back to the old one. read more

This place is fantastic! The decor makes you feel like you were warped back in time into some castle. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. We started out with the hot pepper cheese balls and they were really good. The cheese inside literally just melted as you bite into it. You get your choice of dipping sauce with the appetizer. For my entree I ordered the open faced turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. I was really pleased with my meal. The portion was huge and the taste was fabulous. Uncle Pete's is a good local place worth a visit, with some stellar food options and quality service. Visited this place with my friend's family recently for dinner. It's next to a physical rehab place, and apparently used to be located near the river before they had rent-related issues. While their new location doesn't have much of a view, it does have plenty of parking in a private lot, as well as a ton of room inside with plenty of tables. The interior is nicely furnished and dampens noise well, as evidence by its reasonable volume even during their peak weekend dinner period. I enjoyed the food, especially the cheesy bacon fries which were delicious. While nothing really stands out on the menu as a "must get", you're bound to find something you enjoy here. Nothing much to mention in terms of drinks, pretty standard offerings. While we had a brief wait for our table, it was to be expected given the local popularity of the place. Our server was attentive and made a number of callbacks throughout the evening. All things considered, Uncle Pete's is a good local option for families. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here again since there is nothing really "signature" about it, though it was certainly a positive experience. Overall: 4.0 stars ---------- Pros: - Good food options. - Great service. - Lots of seating and parking. Uncle Pete's is an interesting restaurant when you first drive up to it. More than likely you'll think you are in the wrong place, but nope that big metal building houses some amazing eats. The interior is clean, inviting, and somewhat castle looking. Don't skip on the smoked wings because they are delicious!!! We ordered the Buffalo ranch, but honestly they would even taste amazing plain. I ordered the two chili hotdog special with fries and my husband the fish dinner with cheese curds. The hotdogs weren't the best I've eaten in WV, but they were good enough to keep the restaurant at a 5 star rating. My husband liked his sandwich, and I loved the cheese curds he ordered. The wait time was about 15-20 mins, which isn't bad for how crowded it was. The service was quick and the hostess/busser was the hardest worker I've ever seen! She never quit moving the entire time we were there, and she needs a raise for it. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for some good American bar food! read more

We ended up at Uncle Pete's before going to the Festival of Lights at Ogelbay. To be honest we picked Uncle Pete's because of an actual Uncle Pete, who is a likeable guy, the proximity to Ogelbay, the good rating, and the fact that there was no wait. The place looks like a plain white warehouse from the outside. The inside, however, is really nice. There is a great bar area and seating area all with finished/rustic wood. The food was all pretty good and pretty reasonable. All our meals were around $10. I had beef tips which I enjoyed. My wife's Steak Salad was said to be really good. My daughter ate a cheese steak and my son had some chicken strips. Make this part of your trip to Wheeling and do Ogelbay and Cabella's. read more

Very disappointing meal during a family visit a few weeks ago. The service was slow - waited over half an hour for three meals. I ordered the roast chicken salad and it was lukewarm. The lettuce, tomatoes and ranch dressing were lukewarm, not cold. The chicken and onion rings were lukewarm, not hot. Seemed like the salad had sat out for a very long time before being served. I actually kind of like this place, but their service is poor. Twice, I've gone in to eat only to stand at the hostess station and not get seated. There are employees behind the bar who look at me standing there and won't say anything. They just leave me standing there wondering if anybody is going to greet me so that I can patronize their business. So, Uncle Pete's, instead of eating at your restaurant, I walked out and wrote this Yelp review. Train your staff to greet customers when they enter. If your bartenders see someone standing there, instruct them to say something like, "Someone will be right over to seat you." And if the two blonde ladies at the bar on Monday Dec. 18th at 3:45pm say that they didn't see me, they are lying. They both looked at me several times and didn't say a word. First off I want to say I had the best lasagna ever, and boy was it a huge portion. This isn't on the menu all the time, so when it is a special take advantage and order! Husband had beef tips with vegetable on rice, sprinkled with cheese. He also said that was delicious!
