This may have been the worst meal and service I have ever had. Long day on the road, no high hopes, just wanted something quick and not fast food. My wife ordered a salmon salad rare with no pasta. Of course it the salmon comes cooked to death well and pasta in the salad as well. It is clearly just salad straight out of a bag, crusty brown bits included! I ordered chicken tenders tossed in buffalo with Cole Slaw, how do you screw that up? It comes plain with ranch and green beans straight out of a can. Waitress, no where to be found, finally appears says ohh yeah they were supposed to have buffalo? In short, Shitty food and Shitty service! First of all, I love Cheddars. We eat there all the time!! But today was definitely not the best visit. My parents and I went today for lunch and was very disappointed in service and management. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap, and it had no buffalo sauce. My Dad had a side of brocoli and it wasn't brought out with his meal until we mentioned it. By the time it came out, he had finished other food. The server made excuses for the error instead of just apologizing and offering a remedy. After we had already paid our ticket, the manager came over and didn't apologize at all, just more excuses and the statement, "Well, at least we brought it out!!" That raffle is the wrong attitude. Meals should be brought out together. Us as customers don't need to hear excuses on the back of the house! We just want to enjoy ALL our food as we ordered it! Rude. We were told they were cleaning off our table. So half our party of 6 went to the restroom while the other half sat down at the front. I heard another party of 6 come in & get seated. So I figured they were already on the list before us. While I and the rest of our party went to the restroom I told my sister to inquire about our table. When I returned she said they had sat about 3 more groups. When I asked the hostess about our table they were looking lost and whispering amongst themselves. We left. Always tasty, fresh, good variety, and friendly waitstaff. The only thing they need are some good cocktail specials. $8 - $10 is a bit high for 1 or 2 oz of alchohol when some of their competitors beat that with monthly specials. But, their drinks are good, even the $5 ones. read more

The food was awful. The place smells funny and not in an appetizing way. I ordered a Caesar salad w grilled chicken. Not edible...the lettuce was limp and dripping in dressing. It was like lettuce soup. The server handed me my plate over the top of my friends head instead of bringing it around and setting it in the table. There were flies and some other strange bug landed on our table. So yeah...not good. Pick another place because there has to be something better than that in Wichita Falls. As a college student, and no longer working at the moment, you can never go wrong with an establishment like Cheddar's, the food is affordable and also tasty! My clinical group decided to end our last clinical rotation for the semester by dining in at Cheddar's for lunch. Heath was our server for the afternoon and did a darn good job! It was a large group of 18+ students including our professors. Heath was not "weeded" with our group and got everyone's order right to the T!! For today's menu, I had their famous spinach artichoke dip, you can NEVER go wrong with that and for my drink I had their strawberry lemonade. My first drink of the SL had too much lemonade and not enough strawberry, I informed Heath, and he reordered me another drink that was better than ever. Came to cheddars to get a good meal and some drinks with some buddies. First thing I liked was the brick walls and huge fan. They brought us some buttered croissants which I really enjoyed. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was pretty good but didn't blow me away. Service was very pleasant and everything went well although one of my friends did not enjoy the taste of her food although it did end up getting taken off the bill which was nice. This happened awhile back but I can't seem to get over with our bad experience with this restaurant. I came in with my husband and my sister. We stood 3 feet away right in front of the hostess stand and there were at least 6 people ( waitresses) behind the hostess stand they seem to be doing something very important that not a single one of them greeted us when we are right in front of them. There were no customers in front or behind us and we stood right in front of them hoping somebody will say Hi but not a single one of them dare to care when we are right in their faces. Overall the wife and I enjoyed this restaurant. It was very tasty, and the presentation of the food was nice. It wasn't better than Cotton Patch Cafe, but they had a nice selection of food to choose from, and if you go before 6pm you can get the lunch portion which I suggestion, because they give you a lot of food, and the lunch portion is still plenty of food for one person. I had the salmon, and it was seasoned nicely. The white rice however was not seasoned, and undercooked. The rice in the broccoli casserole however was great. The chicken the wife had was juicy and flavorful. So we recommend those dishes to try. The atmosphere of the place was nice and quiet and you could actually hear yourself think and talk without yelling. The manager was nice she brings you a cookie on your birthday and thanks you for coming and it was my birthday on the 9th of January. read more

I came here to visit my sister. We had lunch at Cheddar's. I love Cheddar's. Every one I go to is great. This one did not disappoint as well! My kids of course had the chicken tenders. My sister had the Dijon chicken and I had the blackened salmon and shrimp. We also had the monster cookie and ice cream for dessert. We had the most amazing, waiter named Lazarus, we have never eaten at cheddars before and after a long drive it's just what we needed. The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. We haven't been to a Cheddars restaurant in a good while. Thought we would give it a try. My future daughter in law ordered the 14oz ribeye steak. The steak tasted absolutely awful. Like a combination of soot and lighter fluid. It was inedible. My son ordered the Monte cristo and while eating it there was a "Wednesday" sticker inside of it. We spoke with the manager and she said "you're not eating an old Wednesday sandwich" to which I replied, I'm not as concerned with it being a Wednesday sandwich as I am with a sticker in the inside of his sandwich. The waitress was great and very responsive. Food was terrible. Hopefully they get it together. read more

The salad was the best thing out of the entire meal. I had a salad, green beans and seasoned rice. The seasoned rice was sweet, I'm more of a savory rice type. The green beans were sweet too. Why? My husband got the Hawaiian shrimp and chicken. The shrimp had a green tinge. Ewe. The fries had obviously been sitting for an extended period of time and the pineapple was canned. I'm generally a fan of Cheddars. In appearance, this location meets expectations. The menu here, like at all Cheddars, offers good variety and value prices. However, my experience was sub-par. I arrived at 9pm on a Monday for dinner(flight was delayed from DFW). At first no hostess was at the front, so I waited a minute. Someone did come and greet me, and after some deliberation, she seated me at a booth. About 4 minutes later, I was greeted. The long greet time didn't bug me because I had a book, but I did wonder what took so long since a few servers were just standing around. Anyway, my server introduced himeslf and took my order (water and a salad). About 15 pages later, my water arrived. 40 minutes passed and I completed my book, but I still had no food. My server was nowhere to be found, so I asked the hostess to fetch him. When he came by, I asked what had happened and he indicated he had made some sort of error that required a manager and he couldn't find a manager, so my order hadn't gone in until a few minutes earlier. Not cool. I had work to do at my hotel, and it was pushing 10pm. I asked him to bring my check and make my order made "to-go." He did. But he didn't include any silverware or salad dressing, which made my meal inconvenient and resulted in a dry and bland salad. The lack of employee hospitality and absense of management presence left me unimpressed with this Cheddars location. Next time I'm in town, I will choose a different restaurant. read more

I ordered the steak and shrimp with off the cob corn and french fries along with a grande top shelf margarita with sangria swirl on the rocks. I didn't get any appetizers. I was seated right away while other parties were waiting still. I guess it was to my advantage to come here by myself. My server was Nikki. The drink was excellent. It wasn't too sweet or too strong. It was just right to get me buzzed before my meal came. Meal came in 20 minutes. The steak was good with the fried onion strings and A-1 sauce. The buttered corn was nice and sweet. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The hand battered fried shrimp was crispy and tender. All in all, it was a really good meal for the price. I would recommend this place if want to try something other than the food chains like Denny's, Applebee's or Chili's. read more

Am I now a converted Californian??? Am I judging this place based upon things I have encountered in CA or is this place a really good deal, even for Wichita Falls, Texas? Family members had told us that this place always had a long line and that they had never eaten here because it was always busy but had heard that it was good so, needless to say, we decided to go. The entire time we were there, we kept commenting on how cheap things were: --$3.50 margaritas --$10 1/2 rack of ribs with 2 sides or full rack for $2 more --$8 tilapia and shrimp with rice and 2 sides Needless to say, I wasn't used to paying these prices in CA, especially since part of the time I live in San Francisco where prices are a bit higher than Coalinga, CA or Wichita Falls, Texas. Of course, my husband and I had to gush a little about the prices when we spoke with family members and their friends. I still remember the first comment we received, " They must have gone up; margaritas used to be $2.50." Oh well, I guess after only 3 years in CA living with my CA-bred husband, I am now thinking in terms of how they relate to the cost and quality of things in CA. Hmmm, for someone who has spent the majority of her life living in the southeast, and still goes back regularly since she has a home there, it was a bit of a revelation. I am still trying to determine whether this is a good thing or not. Oh well, even my southern-bred "self" says that Cheddars is a good deal: great prices and pretty good food. This was my first time at this location but normally, cheddar's is my fave! My broccoli casserole was cold and burnt on the edges. My baked potato soup was good but nothing special. My son got the monte dogs which is a hot dog that is breaded and fried with the monte cristo breading. The monte cristo breading is good on that sandwich only. It wasn't good on the hot dogs, so we just peeled it off and he ate the hot dogs. My bf got the adult grilled cheese sandwich. He said it was good but nothing super special. The service was ok. The restaurant was pretty clean. Nothing bad happened, it just wasn't a WOW experience. I'll stick to the Cheddar's close to home. read more

So my sister has been bugging me for quite some time to give Cheddar's a try and whilst we were in Wichita Falls, we spotted one and said hey, here's our chance! And...HOLEY ONION RINGS! They were absolutely delicious with two dipping sauces (horseradish sauce and ranch-dressing). I favored the horseradish. My husband then ordered the New Orleans Pasta which he was not pleased with. The portion was HUGE but he didn't realize that it was going to have Cajun flavor and he is NOT a fan of Cajun food. I had the Steak and Chicken Tenders and it was perfectly juicy with fresh chicken tenders. Not the McDonald's kind that come right out of the freezer. Our waitress was fantastic and always made sure we had everything we needed. Our table and silverware were spotless and I loved the decor and swinging fans from the ceiling. Great, food was good. Baked spaghetti was so yummy. Tried there sides of mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. mashed potatoes came with white gravy and I loved it! I think I might like white gravy more now, then brown gravy. Mac and cheese tastes homemade and was really good. The baked spaghetti I really enjoyed a lot.
