So my sister has been bugging me for quite some time to give Cheddar's a try and whilst we were in Wichita Falls, we spotted one and said hey, here's our chance! And...HOLEY ONION RINGS! They were absolutely delicious with two dipping sauces (horseradish sauce and ranch-dressing). I favored the horseradish. My husband then ordered the New Orleans Pasta which he was not pleased with. The portion was HUGE but he didn't realize that it was going to have Cajun flavor and he is NOT a fan of Cajun food. I had the Steak and Chicken Tenders and it was perfectly juicy with fresh chicken tenders. Not the McDonald's kind that come right out of the freezer. Our waitress was fantastic and always made sure we had everything we needed. Our table and silverware were spotless and I loved the decor and swinging fans from the ceiling. Great, food was good. Baked spaghetti was so yummy. Tried there sides of mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. mashed potatoes came with white gravy and I loved it! I have seen 'Waiting' numerous times and understand that there is a high price to pay for disrespecting a restaurant. Luckily for me I have only been to Cheddar's once and without a sign from God almighty I won't be back. It was an easy Saturday for me...made a call in order...nothing too extravagant for me...chicken fried steak with extra gravy and chicken fried chicken with extra gravy. Two sides per. Get home. No gravy. One side per. That's enough to even mess up Ice Cube's good day and get him grabbing his AK but I understand things happen. I'll choke down my dry chicken fried (no gravy) but I thought it prudent to call the manager...just in case someone there is hoarding the gravy and selling my missing sides on the black market. I guess it's easier being a Satanist and getting ahold of the Pope? I don't know? I do know I was on hold for a long time and after leaving my number the manager never called me back. I give Cheddar's two stars. Food was good, albeit dry (no gravy) and it would've been grand to have the extra sides I paid for. Have dined here several times and every time it's decent. Problem is Cheddars has too many people, not enough servers. But generally it's decent service. Ribs, salmon, burgers, everything here has been good. Cheddars has a wide variety and is a decent value for your $$. They seem to have an excess of fried items and super high calorie items (like french fries with cheese). Or the Monte Cristo which appeared to actually have grease dripping out of it (yuck). But I guess this stuff sells since you often have to wait for a table here. Unless you are willing to wait, I suggest going on off times. The wait can be 30-45 minutes (or longer). The food is great, but sometimes I feel like that's the only reason I come back. The people who work as hostess usually are busy looking at there phone to, open the door, or even acknowledge you. The people at the bar when you order food to go are very nice. There is only one lady at the bar who pays attention to you, which I believe she's the manager. Other then that, most of the waiters or waitresses don't seem to really care. I love the food that comes from cheddar, I just wish there customer service was better. read more

I come to Cheddar's somewhat regularly for drinks. They have a wide variety of creative drinks that you don't see anywhere else and they are strong. They are usually pretty inexpensive though they have been raising prices lately. The only issue is that a lot of the drinks are based on their sour mix which has a pretty artificial taste and gets old after a few drinks. They also have a good selection of inexpensive appetizers. I like the combo with the cheese bites, potato skins, and chicken strips. All the food here is a bit greasy and sits pretty heavy on the stomach. Not a bad place for some fun cheap drinks but not great food. read more

Went to this restaurant tonight for dinner. Off the top, the hostess seated us right away and the waitress was very courteous and friendly! No complaints what so ever. Now about the main attraction. The food was good but it wasn't "I need to have this again soon!" great. This is why I'm rating at four stars. In my opinion, I would call this a nice family restaurant with good atmosphere. I agree with the other reviewers. This place is great. Now, sure, there are Cheddars restaurants everywhere - but I had not been to one in years. After eating at this location, I'm trying to figure out why. We started the dinner with an order of the onion rings. Beware, this is a huge appetizer for 2 people! At least 20 rings! The onions are lightly battered and fried and thinly cut. It's served with ranch and some spicy sauce. I ordered the beer battered shrimp with a baked potato and the buttered corn ($9). The shrimp were good, a bit generic, but cooked well and not too heavily battered. The baked potato only had butter, cheese, and chives, but was tasty. Buttered corn is... buttered corn. It was yummy. My wife ordered the 8oz. center cut top sirloin with broccoli and sweet carrots ($10). The steak was cooked perfectly to order (medium-rare). The flavor and the texture wasn't the best, though. Unfortunately, Cheddars only offers sirloin for steak. It's a bit dry and tough and it tasted a bit too charred. Some A1 sauce solved that right away. Broccoli was a bit bland but sweet carrots hit the spot. Delicious! For dessert, we ordered their signature one - the Cookie Monster ($4). It's a giant chocolate chip cookie that's baked in a small baking dish and then topped with two scoops of ice cream, fudge, nuts, and a cherry. It's really good! The best thing about this place is the value. As you can see from my prices, everything was really reasonably and it was an extremely affordable meal. I was very pleased. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night and I can certainly see why. The food was great, prices were low, and this is the nicest looking Cheddar's I've ever seen. The only reason it got a 4 star rating from me is because the food COULD have been better, but hey, for this kind of pricing, it doesn't get much better! Have you ever had a craving for ribs and just meat falling off the bone and nothing else will do? I had that over the weekend while I was lounging at home after eating pizza and cheesy bread. After looking through some recipes of how to cook ribs, I decided to give up and get take out (I can, however, boil tea and eggs, so all is not lost). I made the mistake of thinking there was Cheddars nearby and was delighted upon seeing ribs on their menu and quickly called to place the takeout order. After actually finding the place on google map, it dawned on me that this place was at least 8 miles away. FUCK! Well I already ordered it so I decided to suck it up and drive all 8 miles to pick up the stupid ribs. The restaurant seemed popular, your typical Friday's/Chili's crowd. The ribs were about $16 and all fit into one styrofoam container, which I was disappointed by as I imagined a huge long ass slab of ribs that they'd have to tie to the roof of my car like a fucking kayak because it's so huge. There were 10 bones altogether, I don't know, I just somehow imagined like 12 bones for a whole rack. By the time I drove home, of course, the ribs were kind of luke warm and so were the two unremarkable sides of cheese broccoli and apple/yogurt. Undaunted, I devoured as much as I could while watching a slasher movie about cannibalism called The Offspring. Overall a good experience. Probably won't be repeated. Especially for takeout since it's so far from my house. But there it is. Cheddar's. read more

My daughter and I went to Cheddar's on Saturday. We were sitting in a booth and someone threw up right beside us. I was shocked that the wait staff was not moving us immediately! We had to stand up and asked to be moved. The waitress acted like she was put out. Needless to say it was hard to even eat our meal when it came. The manager didn't even offer to pay for our lunch. We are a family of five so eating out can be expensive. We love Cheddar's because we always get a good meal for a great price! The grilled salmon is great - stick with the smaller portion unless you are starving! The burgers are consistently tasty and the chicken pot pie is terrific. We stopped in for lunch after a soccer game, and I think it was pretty disappointing. The chips and queso was awesome, so I had high hopes, but we were let down. I got the "Sweet and Heat Shrimp and Chicken" from the Lighter side menu and I'm thinking you save calories because its not that great so no one finishes it. The shrimp were undercooked, and the salad was doused in the dressing. I know I'll end up going back sometime, but not as a regular. The kids meals have large portions, which isn't always good. I read reviews about Cheddars and people have mentioned how cheap it is. Well, it is cheap but the food is ok. You get what you pay for. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was extremely tough. The green beans tasted like they came out of a can. My husband ordered the New Orleans pasta. That tasted like it was canned also. Carino's, which is next door to Cheddar's, has a similar dish and it is very delicious! I also ordered the Texas margarita and my husband ordered the Texas sweet tea. The drinks were pretty good, especially for only being $3.50! But unfortunately the food isn't good enough to bring us back. read more

It's true that this place is a great deal, and a very popular eatery among the natives. But I just don't see the appeal in the food at this place. It was definitely some of the most bland food I've ever had. Everything tasted like generic chain restaurant food. There was no original flavor in any of their food. It's basically the Starbucks of restaurants, flavorless to the point of being able to please everyone. So if you're looking for a place where you can please everybody, this might be a good choice, but even Wichita Falls can do better than this. read more

Hard to believe how busy this place is. Had to park way int the back on a Wednesday evening at 730. Didn't have to wait very long.
