I had the sweet chili Thai which was 1000000% better than Asian zing at Buffalo Wild Wings. I've been to their Manchester location twice which has quality food as well but their location is cramped. This one has much more space and padded booths!! The Manchester location has wooden benches and personally I enjoy eating my comfort food while I'm comfortable. Nick took my phone order and as someone who is passionate about getting those most out of my cheat meals I asked a lot of questions - I may have made a few too many changes as to how my waffle was to be enhanced. Nick handled all my requests with ease and stayed upbeat. Once we got there we chowed down and midway I tried out their garlic Parmesan which comes with SAUCE AND PARMESEAN..... dude. It doesn't get realer than that. Their garlic parmesan was absolute fuego. I don't like BWW's garlic parm but Cheek's is in a league of their own. The other employee that I met, Mohammed, was the one that masterfully prepped our tenders and waffles - he recommended that next time we try their hash fries, Mac and cheese bites, and onion rings. The waffles are out of this world good. I don't think I've eaten anything so melt-in-your-mouth decadent, that makes you want to keep breaking pieces off until it's all sadly gone, in my life. The chicken is all real deal, not garbage. As the combination of chicken & waffles just sounds heavy, let alone what your belly and pants' button & zipper confirm, this is only a once in a while spot for this Northener to frequent. However, if my devilish inner fat boy had his way, I would eat here 3 meals a day, trying every offering and sauce/dry rub. read more

Great addition to the Wallingford takeout scene. I've been the their original location and was excited to learn they would be setting up shop in a space that has been a revolving door for restaurants over the past 5 years. They picked a great but risky week to open..Super Bowl week. Ordering takeout at 5pm on Sunday, and hour before kickoff, I knew Cheeks would either shine and handle the order swiftly or I'd be waiting for hours.. I was greeted by a busy, yet friendly voice on the phone, who quickly took my order and told me it'd be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived to find a few folks waiting for large takeout orders (trays and trays of wings) and my order to my surprise was ready to go. Bravo! I ordered two 5 piece tenders and a large fried ravioli order. Popping the top on the containers I couldn't believe the size of the chicken they use..massive tenders, crispy coating, and flavorful meat, one sauces with buffalo and one with garlic Parmesan. My wife and I could only eat 2 tenders each, they are that big. The ravioli were phenomenal..I was expecting a frozen processed product that was just dropped in the frier. Nope, just perfectly crisp pillows of nicely seasoned ricotta filled pasta. We will be back here for sure, next time I'll go for the 3 piece meal, cuz I'm eating chicken for days here..not that it's a bad thing. read more

The wings are amazing lots of great sauces the waffles on the other hand are super gooey it felt like it wasn't cooked all the way thru, I had mozzarella sticks, skinny fries and Mac n cheese. I was so looking forward to coming here because of all the great reviews. It was a horrible disappointment. I ordered tenders and wings for takeout. The tenders were burned on the outside and raw on the inside. The batter is thick and hides a lot of fat on the tenders. The wings aren't really wings. They are drumettes with that same thick batter. The pieces were so dark, I was convinced the oil was dirty. The insides were raw. They weren't as raw as the tenders, but they definitely weren't coked. The broccoli cheddar bites were good, but everything else was subpar. I don't get the hype. Popeye's has better chicken. And there was a man eating in with a woman. He was wearing an East Wallingford Fire Department t-shirt; every other word out of his mouth was f****. He was loud and there were little kids there. The staff did nothing about it. read more

When you want something quick and satisfying you can't really go wrong with cheek's. I really, really like the mac and cheese bites.

OMG! The waffles are amazing. I had never been here before and wanted some chicken wings and decided to give it a try. The wings were cooked light golden brown. That was a little too light for me so I covered them with the golden sauce they came with and put them in a convection oven to bake the sauce on them and brown the wings more. They were actually really good and crispy. The waffle was out of this world. I first thought how good could it be and then I tasted it. No syrup needed. It was great! The guy at the counter joked I'd be back tomorrow and i said probably not tomorrow but he was right. I'll be back tomorrow for more chicken and waffles. The waffle was a beautiful rich brown and sweet. Their COVID precautions are like other stores, masks must be worn and they had everything packed up when I got there. Chicken is the best quality youll find in CT. I could eat here every day. Griffs Chicken Shack in hamden used to have the same kind of quality chicken, but when they closed i thought id never eat that good again, until i found this place. Its almost identical. Gotta give a 5 star review thanks to Jose the Manager!! I ordered from DoorDash. The delivery was on time but the most important part was the sauce. I ordered 2 crispy chicken wraps, with the sauce on the side. It came with no sauce. Here I am pissed because with out the sauce the food is dry and plain. I called and spoke to Jose. He found a drive to come out and bring my sauces. That's truly appreciated. Most places would say fu to the customer. Jose said I have your back! Thank you Jose again and continue doing what you do. Wow! I heard about this place second hand from my wife and decided to give it a try after looking at the menu on their website. Got a sandwich, hash fries, corn fritters and some wings. It was all delicious. The causes are amazing. My wife tried the waffle and chicken tenders. The tenders were huge! And cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender. There was just too much to try on the first visit. Will definitely be ordering for lunch. read more

I would not recommend this place at all....total scam artist! Ordered wings at 10am super bowl Sunday. They stated I would have them between 6 and 6:30. Then at 6:15 I get a text stating that my ordered wouldn't be full filled. They gave me no reason nor did they even pick up the phone to give me an apology or anything. Question....were am I supposed to get wings at that time of night ok Super Bowl Sunday...exactly no where. Total BS and horrible business practice. They have lost my business for ever! Cheeks is a great addition to the East Side of Wallingford. I ordered online and I think it said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up after 10ish minutes and it came out 2 minutes later. The woman at the counter greeted me and checked on my order. She was very attentive and made casual conversation while she put my food in a to go bag. I got home and the chicken was still piping hot and was perfect. It was the perfect mixed of crispy on the outside and perfect warm moist chicken on the inside. I ordered 10 nuggets and think 2 blue cheeses would be needed instead of 1. Overall fantastic and I'll definitely be back!! read more

Stopped by for lunch With my wife she had a chicken sandwich with fries that were amazing I had the tender meal with A waffle.. The tenders were very juicy and delicious. My waffle on the other hand was very hard. When I think of a waffle, I think fluffy, buttery with a nice crisp to it. This waffle is very hard and doughy. I was super excited to try this place when I found out it had just opened up, and although I wasn't majorly disappointed I also wasn't majorly impressed either. When we arrived on a there on a Tuesday night there was one customer waiting and one placing their order. Small clean dining area with the 50's diner decor. After looking up at the obnoxiously flashing TV menu (they're trying to get that fixed) we ordered a Lg side of Mac and cheese, two 3 wing and waffle specials and one three tender and waffle special. I'd say I'm moderately to very patient but we waited about 25 min for our food to come out and they weren't really busy judging by the steady, but not overwhelming, volume of customers coming and going. On to the food! The glaring difference in portion size from the 3 wings to the 3 tenders is pretty ridiculous- the tenders are massive! My 12 yo daughter had no issue with the wing portion size but the hubby did -but honestly it's what I would have expected if I ordered 3 wings. I'll give him the fact that one was pretty tiny in comparison to the other 2. Both said the wings were really good. The tenders were good, juicy and not dried out. Flavor wise they were pretty basic. They have a variety of sauces- all 3 I tried were nothing special- the garlic parm tasted like thick Italian dressing, the buffalo sauce was seemingly straight up hot sauce, and the teriyaki sauce was, well it was teriyaki sauce. Mac and cheese was yummy although we expected a bit more for a large portion. But the waffles- now those were some GOOD waffles- there were some burnt edges that were really bitter but the parts that were not were deeeelicious! They let you put different toppings on it and I just had honey butter and powdered sugar and that was enough added sweetness. I'd give them another chance for sure just to try the wings and get some more of those waffles! read more

I have to admit I was a little sticker shocked when they told me my 12 wings were about $16 and change but I have to say I ate my words on that when I got home with the wings because the wings are very big and very meaty in fact I ordered 12 and I was only able to finish six tonight so now I will have leftovers for tomorrow .
