This place is amazing!!! Not only does the food taste great but the service is great too. The staff is full of positive energy and smiles. My husband and I found out about this place a little while ago and ever since we discovered it my husband has been in love with it and the food. My favorite are the waffles and sweet potato fries, they are delicious!!!!! The chicken sandwiches are so yummy. I have tried a few and was never disappointed. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and was flavored just right. If you have not been to Cheeks Chicken, I highly recommend you go there. You will not be disappointed! read more

This place is garbage. A complete and total disappointment. Chicken and waffles.... So much potential here and every time I've been here (four times) the chicken, which seems to come from a bag and is frozen and pre made, has been tough and dry. The waffles are the highlight of the place, and they aren't even as good as some truck stop waffles I've had. The sides are like, you think you're married to a super model, and the super model is the chicken and waffles, then you have an affair with a blow up sheep that you found in a parking lot behind a strip club in Savannah Georgia. The tiny, pre portioned for the next century sauces that sit out in the counter couldn't satisfy anyone even if they had an extra small French fry order and were on a diet. As small as the sauces are, you think they use real maple syrup.... Nope... corn syrup based syrup. Clearly the people that love this place also love Vinny's... the self proclaimed king of roast beef. (Here's a hint... it's drier than cheeks chicken, don't bother...). Someone please, for the love of God hire someone that knows how to cook and make some decent fried chicken and make a decent waffle. We came in for a late bite (7 pm for us) midweek. We're sure glad we did. We saw Cheeks on Yelp, so we thought we'd give it a try. We both had chicken tenders and waffles. The waffles are heavenly -warm, a little sweet... perfect. The tenders were hot, fresh, and juicy. They definitely were made to order. The sauces we chose were great. The guy at the counter was very helpful in helping us choose our meals/sauces from the menu. He's a great asset to the business. Best fried chicken we have had. Fresh rolls, sauces were awesome. Quick service. We only wish we had these in Maine!! While the food was incredible, Nick made the experience perfect. Hands down the best wings I've ever had. Wings were perfectly crispy and the meat was juicy. If you like heat I 100% recommend the Carolina reaper sauce. I swear by Cheeks Manchester but spend a lot of time in Wallingford visiting friends, so it was awesome to hear they were opening another store in town. I'm happy to report the chicken is just as juicy and the waffles are just as deliciously soggy at the new store. read more

My family tried Cheeks tonight. The food was really good. They were pretty busy and could have had more staff to speed things up but the service was friendly. We all had the chicken tender and waffle combos. The waffles were great and the chicken tenders were huge. Nice to have a new place in town that offers something different. This location has had a few failures in recent years so I was in no hurry to try Cheek's. I'm glad I finally did. It may not be good for my waistline or my cholesterol, but it sure tastes good! Don't expect much in the way of service, and make sure you check your take-out bag that everything is in it, but, if you're after good chicken and waffles, this is the place. They've got lots of sauces to choose from, and they offer to put on the side if you're unsure. I had the Carolina reaper and it was outstanding. read more

Very disappointed after all these great reviews..I had the chicken tenders and waffle dinner..portions huge but not the tastiest..the chicken tenders were dry and the waffle chewy,slightly undercooked and kind of tasteless..maybe we caught them on an off night..Will try again but will order something different. Prices were very reasonable and you get a lot of food for 7.99..Unfortunately it just wasn't as great as I expected. read more

I went here for the first time a few weeks after they opened. The night was so busy here. There was only one person working the counter. My friend's food came out before my food and I had to wait at least five minutes for my food to come out. Our food wasn't very hot. However, the food was delicious! I had the chicken tenders, waffle, and mac and cheese. The chicken tenders were huge! They were crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. I had the sweet teriyaki sauce and it was good, but it just got to be a little too sweet for me after a while. The waffle was amazing! I have never had a waffle like that before. It was sweet, light, and fluffy. I had the honey butter and powdered sugar on it. The waffle itself had a sweet taste to it that it didn't really need anything more on it. The mac and cheese was on the cold side so I really can't give it a good review. I also didn't like how the Chicken and Waffles sat on a piece of tissue paper in a basket and the paper ripped multiple times from the melted butter and sauce when I was trying to cut up pieces of waffle. However I will definitely be going back here again. All the food was so fresh. I just went here recently again and the food and service was amazing! Oh my is all I can say. Ordered the chicken tenders and waffle. First I'll start with the waffle of course. It was so freshly made and I just can't even describe how delicious it was. I had it with powdered sugar that it comes with, no syrup. Can't wait to go back again, but will have to pace myself. Now for the chicken tenders. Freshly made, absolutely juicy and delicious chicken. I had buffalo and honey mustard sauces on the side, but really, I ended up eating some with no sauce because the taste was so great. Now for why the 4 stars instead of five. I will wait for good food for a decent amount of time. The young woman waiting on everyone told me it would be 10 minutes. I waited almost 20. There was another woman who actually complained. Me, I wasn't in a hurry, so didn't say anything, however, if you tell someone 10 minutes, it should be 10 minutes. Like I said, I'll wait for good food, so better to be up front and say it will be around 20 minutes. I heard her tell the other woman the kitchen was backed up, so just be up front at the beginning. Also, there are no fountain drinks, fresh brewed iced tea. It's all sodas water etc from a cooler. Just wanted to mention because if you're like me, you like a nice iced beverage with your meal. I'll know for next time, so no problem. I totally forgot to mention, there are quite a few sides. Being from the south I decided to try the corn fritters. Fabulous!!
