I love getting the Chicken Gone Wild or Land and Sea. Although the sauce goes well with it, I tend to replace it with the Poke Sauce. Ever since trying it, it's one of my favorite sauces there. My usual is the Chicken Gone Wild bowl with white rice, mixed greens, without the seaweed and tend to add different vegetables in there. I've tried most of the boba there as well, one of my favorites is the Taro Bubble Tea, it reminds me of cereal milk if I had to compare it to something. Others I like are the Strawberry and Mango Bubble Tea, either boba or fruit jelly tastes good with it. This will always be a place I'll catch myself getting addicted to stopping by every now and then. I love feeling great after my meal because it contains both greens and protein. The service is up and down and it really depends on which employees are working that day. Because I did a contactless order by using my mobile app, the men who were working on my order looked as though I had two heads. Now, I don't use their mobile app much, but for this location at least it seems like you are better off not ordering from your phone and just going up in person. However, it's not only for that reason. While they got my food items correct, I was supposed to get a drink with it and that didn't happen. Now, the drink itself, the Papaya Green Tea, was only a little over $3, but there needs to be better communication amongst the staff because not only did I pay for a drink I never got, I had nothing to wash down my food. The store is family owned, clean, and well stocked. And now they also have a great deli at the back of the store. They obviously did their homework and invested in the best equipment and products to make delicious sandwiches, wraps, and salads. They're using very fresh produce, Napoli Import deli meats and cheeses, and fresh grinder rolls from Neri's Bakery in Port Chester, NY. I've been going in Grand News for a few years and the family that owns it are friendly honest people. They're putting a lot of care into every sandwich and salad that they make for each customer. Jay made an awesome Italian Combo grinder for me. It was one of the best I've ever had. And Diana made a crisp beautiful salad for me to take home to my wife. Now if that wasn't even to grab my attention, what they said next sure did -because this barbecue came from a gas station. Or rather a gas station/convenience store. There are 14 Alltown Fresh stations sprinkled across New England and four of them sell Barbecue. Once I discovered we didn't live too far from one, that sold barbecue (in Waterbury) I bookmarked it and we visited yesterday. It sure resembles a Cumberland Farms/Pride convenience store, but the distinguishing difference is they cook up fresh barbecue dishes to order. We got our barbecue fix with a big barbecue plate and a big barbecue bowl for around $20. They will give us four portions. My wife ordered a pulled pork plate that included bread and butter pickles, a big hunk of cornbread, and a choice of 2 sides from this selection - bbq baked beans, black bean salad, coleslaw, corn chow-chow, cucumber salad, mac n' cheese, macaroni salad, and potato salad. She went with slaw and mac and cheese and with my own eyes I saw their cook whipping up a fresh batch of mac and cheese in a saute pan behind the counter. I went with a BBQ Pork bowl with slow-cooked bbq pork, queso fresco, avocado, pico de gallo, and cilantro on a bed of shredded romaine lettuce and latin rice. The food was terrific and very reasonably priced at about ten bucks each. We had half of our orders for dinner last night and will finish them off tonight.
