Bottom Line: Decent selection with some cool business ideas but service is lackluster. I'm desperately searching for my new go-to liquor store - the kinda place where you go every week and the staff recognizes you and offers a warm hello. I started my quest with Cheers & Spirits since they are so close to where I live and run coupons on the back of my Safeway receipts. I was able to find both beer and wine that peaked my interest so that was good. (I did not check out the liquor selection.) Where this store left me disappointed was with the customer service, or lack thereof. I guess I am old fashioned because I still have false hopes that store staff will say hello and offer assistance. Despite being the only person in the store, there was little service to be had. One employee had their head down distracted by their paperwork. Eventually, another staff member did come offer assistance when he saw I had my arms full (literally). I tried to engage him in conversation about various craft beers but he either didn't know the product or didn't seem too enthusiastic to talk shop. I'll give Cheers & Spirits another try because all businesses have their off days, but I'll also keep looking for my new go-to spot. read more

They have a terrible selection of Maryland wines. Hardly any. CS is never good either. Will go some where else.

Great selection of craft beer and the staff are always helpful and kind.

First off, great location. Its located in the nook of Arnold Station, and pretty much right off of the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail where plenty of people stop by after the morning trek and walk with the puppers. They do allow dogs, and clearly welcome the good bois :) The staff are great friendly people(from my knowledge staff has changed up in the past 8 months) and are more than happy to help you out if you're looking for something different. I'm particularly a fan of the hidden gem that is the Beer cave with it wide selection of enticing craft brews I've never heard of and even less than known brews from some bigger breweries. Right now (end of May) their summer selection is looking tempting for a good sampling of interesting beers. If you're like me, a double take of the selection is going to happen. Did I mention they have a create your own pack in there? This definitely helps with making a few interesting choices. The selection overall is good, wine and liquor. The staff is friendly and the casual atmosphere + location (BA trail right behind, and Naval bagels next door!) is just great. read more

I only go here because it's convenient. The (I believe owner) is so rude. I walked in, was the only person in the store and he never spoke a word to me until I came to the register and even then ALL he said was the total amount I owed. Have had previous experience in here with the same guy being rude/unprofessional and it's a bummer. Port Tack will always be better read more

Pricing is ok. But for some reason the employees in the store seems depressed. They have no sense of urgency. I want my beer store to be fun and groovy. read more

I came in the restaurant 12 minutes before close. A worker there named steve slammed the counter like i did something terrible for coming in 12 minutes before close and didnt respond to anything i said. Great work ethic... that'll get you places. I love the store but steve brings the place down a few notches. read more

Great selection and the owner is super nice. I take issue with some of the employees and their overall attitudes. I went in there tonight and started to pour a growler and apparently you're not supposed to do that, I had no idea. One employee comes up to me and says in a not so cool tune that I'm not allowed to do that and just walks off. I'm like okay captain helpful, thanks got it. Just little things like that make me rate this place 3 stars when really I wish I could give it 5. read more

I'm giving one star for location and two for selection. But the service is generally terrible. With one exception, the employees always seem actively pissed off when customers walk in (I've both experienced and witnessed this). The last time I was there, I came in 25 minutes before close, bought a lot, and was checking out at 5 minutes before close. They turned the lights out and locked the door while I was inside. Fortunately, Fishpaws is just up the road, has a better selection, and great staff. read more

I know everyone is a little edgy and moody due to staying at home. In addition, businesses are challenged to serve customers while trying to maintain safe distances but the clerk who just waited on my wife was not only rude but cost his owners some revenue. My wife (sitting in her car) asked for two items and asked to pay with two different credit cards. One item was for us, the other was for our 86 year old neighbor who won't leave his house due to COVID. When my wife made her request, she got the eye roll and the long sigh. She asked if there was a problem and then just said "nevermind, I'll take my cards back". Rather than try to atone for his rudeness, he gave her the cards back. Will never shop here again. Port Tack and Fishpaws are much friendlier. read more

Pre-covid and currently, the employees at this store are incredibly rude. Even when calling to simply ask what the hours are they are rude. The selection is also horrible and highly priced, so I would just avoid at all costs. I'm not sure who owns this place and why they hired such rude and unhelpful people, but it's very frustrating read more

Do not go to this wine and liquor store. I live in Arnold and have used this store since it opened, on and off. I have stopped shopping at this store three times, but have come back because of the convenience of their being close. No more, after today's experience, I will never shop at this store again. They carry a wide variety of wine, but usually 40% is out of stock and doesn't get restocked for weeks. The sales clerks are unhelpful and when you ask a question they glare at you like you interrupted their loafing. They are obnoxious and talk down to their customers and make them feel like idiots. I ordered a case of wine last Friday and was told that it would be ordered on the following Wednesday to arrive on Thursday. I went in on Friday a week later and there two employees behind the counter and neither said a word to me stare and glare at me. The clerk I ordered the wine from was leaning with his elbows on the the counter and did not get up as I approached. All they did was stare at me; I asked if my case of wine had come in. The one leaning on the counter grunted, "it didn't come in". Nothing else was said and he continued to glare at me. When nothing else was said, I told them to cancel the order and that I would go elsewhere. He grunted OK. I don't know how this store stays in business with the kind of help they employ. Sometimes the prices are better, but not enough for the way they treat their customers.
