I'm surprised the Yelp ratings are so low for Cheers. I ordered a spicy burger and fries. The fries were underwhelming, but the burger was very good. Fresh, cooked perfectly, the right amount of spice and condiments. It was good. The beer selection was a decent mix of domestic, craft and a couple of imports. The prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was good considering it's in a strip mall close to a Kroger. Plenty of TVs with various sports games playing. I'll definitely be back. read more

Cheers is truly a neighborhood bar...even though it's located in a strip mall...and even though it comes across as a sports bar. Even when it's busy, the vibe is "laid back and friendly." Food: I've never had a bad meal. I usually get a burger. Faves? The pizza burger and the Pub burger. The basic side options are onion rings and/or tots and/or fries. Any of these are good. I've never had the chicken chunks, but my son vouched for them. I can't vouch for the pizza, but it sure looks good...one of these days. This isn't your standard 5-Star rating. It's not a place where you're going to be blown away by the food and ambiance. It's something different. I was playing poker down the street and had certainly never been to Holland Ohio. I walked in and the service was good, the place was clean, the personal pizza was much better than I expected, and the locals were friendly. One dude was also a poker player and just started talking to me. We talked for about an hour over a of beers and had many laughs. This is a welcoming place with pretty good pizza. I didn't taste any other food so I don't know anything about that. For overall atmosphere, solid pizza, and cold beer, it's a 5 in my book. read more

The employees here at Cheers are extremely friendly and efficient. They are very welcoming. They serve a delicious burger and fries. We stop here every time we are in the area and highly recommend this restaurant. Went in for my favorite pizza and was served a pizza with a crust I had never had . When I asked the server , Ashley , she said we changed the crust . I managed through about 1 piece . Wife and I went there for a date night. Ordered our food waitress was super nice. My meal was not right. The waitress agreed with me. She asked the cooking staff to remake it. The cooking staff said they made it correctly. The manager came out and investigated my food. She also agreed that my meal was not correct. She returned it back to the cooks. No apologies. I felt like they were calling me a liar. Then I couldn't trust the cooks making my second meal when it was obvious they were upset about having to make it again. We were grocery shopping late and I hate fast food so we stopped in here for the 1st time to grab a quick bite. As soon as we got in the door our ears are blasted. It was so loud in there I couldn't hear the waitress when she asked for our drink order and the waiter at the next table kept turning his head to the side so he could hear his table speak to him. We would soon find out that or waitress was also a bartender She brought our drinks and didn't return for at least 15 minutes to take our food order. When our food came a different guy came to the table the next 2 times which we were thankful for so my husband could get another beer. Service wasn't great and food was just OK. All I can say is what a hidden gem. The food there is great especially the pizza. The staff is always friendly and fun to socialize with. The owners or managers are always there and always touch base with the customers. We go at least once or twice a month and have never been dissatisfied. I highly recommend this place. read more

Went in for lunch and sat at the bar. Ordered a Rueben and it came out pretty fast. The bartender decided there wasn't enough meat on the sandwich before even setting it down in front of me. I appreciated the gesture but personally thought there was too much meat on it when it came back. Corned beef was all I could taste. After a few bites the cook came out with an attitude asking if the sandwich was better after "I" had sent it back. My husband & I used to love to eat at Cheers & hang out watching baseball, football, etc. However, the last year or so the food has drastically changed & is very sub par. The grinders are half the size with less meat & cheese. The bread they are using is also different & not good. Used to love their pizza but that has also changed. The dough is horrible & so is the taste. We went back last night hoping maybe things had gotten better but it hasn't. We ordered nachos & they were mostly burnt with hardly any cheese or meat & the chicken chunks were even worse. Not sure they were even chicken as mostly just breading & rubbery. I would like to start off by saying the servers are great, Valerie and Aizlynn had great vibes. Stayed and talked with us and made sure we had anything we needed. They were awesome. This was the first time eating at this locally owned sports restaurant/bar. The service here was great! We ordered a chicken finger kids meal for the 2yr old grandaughter and it came all ready cut up. I ordered a black and Bleu burger and it was also very good. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad and it was large and she said excellent tasting. They were busy on this evening ( Saturday), so they're was a little bit of wait but it was a great choice that I would recommend this restaurant to families, small groups or just to have a beer at the bar. read more

I don't know if the chef has a severe sweet tooth or the salt and sugar were mixed, but the salsa was sickeningly sweet. Inedible really. My wife ordered fish and chips which were advertised as Yuengling beer-battered, but were triangular in shape and seemed to be frozen pre-breaded fish. Her fries were good, but the coleslaw was in the same boat as the salsa; disgustingly sweet. I had a 7" personal pizza which was tasty, but again the sauce was on the sweet side. Not nearly as bad as the salsa or coleslaw, but over sugared for sure. Service was average to good, but the chips and salsa took about ten minutes to come out. Decent place to watch sports - the TVs are a little on the high side. The ceilings are tall and the TVs butt up against the ceiling. Can be a strain if you're sitting at the bar...like sitting in the front row of a movie theater. The food is usually good. I didn't particularly care for the hot wings I had last time, but the chicken chunks are great - the hot bbq sauce is good...the hot sauce is forgettable. It doesn't have a very "homey" feeling - probably has to do with the high ceilings. I know they have live music here on the weekends, but I have yet to come in for that. Overall it's A-OK...but they need to do something about the sterile, cafeteria feeling you get when you walk in here. What that something is...I have no idea. read more
