The people behind the counter in the coffee shop seemed, for some reason, snobby and aloof. C'mon, girls, you're baristas, not prima ballerinas...Still, the service was at least fast and accurate. They have a nice selection of alcohol for cocktails and Sutter Home type wine. Even a few craft beers for me. They have special events like jazz on Thursday for free with free appetizers and host comedy events on occasion. Only problem is you have to search it out. They don't do a great job of advertising. Now this place has a reputation of being a primarily black bar but I have seen folks of all ethnicities here and they are welcome. The bartenders are semi-friendly depending who you get. The food is pulled from the Distillery menu so it's great bar food. The atmosphere is a nerd basement with at least 10 pinball machines, board games and active puzzles. They announce when they have new pinball machines and the community comes out and shows up in a big way. It's a great spot to get away and nerd out with your favorite pinball game.
