BEST GRILLED CHEESE EVER. BBQ Mac'n'cheese is my favorite. Not too heavy on the BBQ sauce. Perfect combo of flavors. While the food is tasty if a tad greasy their service leaves much to be desired. They are staffed minimally at best so expect to wait even on a slow day. At busy times expect a significant wait. Friday or Saturday it's 45 minutes at best. They have a DoorDash time of 24 minutes but will refuse your order and not deliver when busy. That being said I went down to the shop because it was what my family wanted and after being cancelled on DoorDash waited close to an hour for my food. I'd say come down Tuesday or Wednesday you're okay but Thursday through Sunday expect to wait a while. read more

As a first time customer I was trying to understand the menu. As I was ordering my food Matthew was a little passive aggressive towards me in explaining that everything on the menu was grilled cheese. Seems like he wanted me to order quickly, as I felt rushed to order I just order whatever and I ordered for my kiddo, my husband didn't even look at the menu cuz he saw the way Matthew was towards myself. He order the same thing I did. It was a really uncomfortable situation with other people around. Like chaz' post Matthew did yell out that he was only going to open the restroom once so if anyone needed to go, to go NOW. Food was alright, I think we would have had a better experience if customer service was better. We stopped by for lunch on a Thursday. It's a small shop with seating in the new Orange St alley. I asked the cashier what was good ("everything is good!" What should I have expected?) The sandwiches were excellent - the bread was perfectly grilled but still soft, the cheese was well proportioned, and the other flavors were great. They have a classic grilled cheese and a handful of other creative combinations. I tried the jalapeño bomb and it was really good! We'll definitely be back! read more

I love cheesewalla !! This place is so good. I get the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese with the blue cheese on the side and it never misses! I also usually get the tomato bisque and it's honestly the best tomato anything I've ever tried. I usually don't like tomatoes like that but it is so yummy. I can go there and order just the bisque I highly recommend it! The tater tots are also a great option as a side. I love the area that it's in as well. It is in such a cute little alley and if you walk around there's a cute village with lots of shops to look at. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would. I had an absolutely terrible service experience at Cheesewalla today. I went in for the first time extremely excited based off of other Yelp reviews, only to experience complete inadequacy. It was a waste of my time and energy to go to Cheesewalla. I ordered a caprese, a jalapeno popper with no bacon, a glazed donut, and a samosa grilled cheese -- all to-go. My second mistake (after going to Cheesewalla in the first place) was to trust in the competency of the employee who took my order before giving them payment. After a 30-minute wait for my order, I went home to find that there was NO caprese sandwich. To add insult to injury, there was bacon in my jalapeno popper, despite the fact that I SPECIFICALLY highlighted my dietary restriction to the employee AND the fact that the "no bacon" was clearly listed on my receipt. Members of my family have both dietary restrictions and life-threatening food allergies. This type of petty mistake by a food-serving establishment IS NOT a joke to me, nor should it be taken lightly. When I drove all the way back and complained to the cashier, expressing extreme dismay at the service, she just said, "This isn't an allergy friendly restaurant." That's nice to know. I guess this is restaurant is antagonistic to anyone with dietary restrictions or food allergies. If I expressly tell an employee NOT to include something in my order and they take note of that on the receipt, and STILL screw it up, that's pure incompetence. In conclusion, I didn't get the caprese sandwich I thought I ordered, my jalapeno popper was a mess (thankfully, my family member noticed before biting into the sandwich), and the sandwich bag broke on the way to the car. My suggestion to Cheesewalla is to invest in better bags, more detail-oriented staff, and improve the competency of their service. As someone who has been involved in work for the California Dept. of Food and Agriculture, these types of low-quality, lack-of-consciousness mistakes by food establishments really apall me. Sand which itself was not spicy like one might anticipate, however I do not have a tender tongue so tread lightly. My fiancé ordered the buffalo chicken and really enjoyed it, if you want more buffalo sauce it's .25 cents. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer evening. The outside of the restaurant is really nice and covered with umbrellas and in a nice alleyway. The food is perfect size and portions for takeout size especially in times like these.
