I had such a delicious experience at Saigon Delight! Everything I ordered was absolutely packed with flavor and seasoned to perfection. I had the octopus, jumbo shrimp, butter-battered oysters, and fried tilapia--and let me tell you, every bite was better than the last! The octopus was tender and flavorful, the jumbo shrimp were cooked just right, and those butter-battered oysters were crispy, golden, and absolutely delicious! The fried tilapia was seasoned so perfectly, with that crispy outside and flavorful, tender fish inside. You could really taste the care that went into preparing every dish. If you love seafood that is well-seasoned, crispy, flavorful, and satisfying, this is definitely a place you should try! Holy magenta! I called in an XL tilapia fried fiah order with a side of rice No spicy. This is a hidden gem and while id like to keep it that way it is my duty to share this amazing review. Rhe fish was crispy and juicy and flavorful. To die for! Rice was well cooked. It was a casual white rice for the fish. Staff was professional and quick with the order. When I called it in they let me know fish is made to order and it would take 20min. I grabbed snacks and drinks next door at Staters and then picked up my meal. Place inside is cute. My party ordered the grilled pork vermicelli, grilled shrimp and lemongrass beef banmi sandwiches. The vermicelli dishes and the grilled pork Bahn Mi sandwiches were flavorful but the garlic shrimp Bahn Mi was not. The bread tasted a little stale and ingredients could have been cooked a little bit longer. The presentation of the sandwiches could be better. Both sandwiches were placed in their own paper bag with names labeled on the bag and the sandwiches held together by a rubber band. I actually saw the staff prepping and cooking fresh noodles because they had run out on the prep line, you can't beat that kind of quality. The Wait & Pro-Tip: Because they seem to make things to order, it can take a bit of time. I waited about 20 minutes for an order of 8 spring rolls and two steamed meat buns. Pro-Tip: Definitely call ahead with your order if you're on a tight schedule! The Food: The Steamed Meat Buns are excellent and very traditional, filled with pork, Vietnamese sausage, and both quail and salted eggs. The spring rolls were also very fresh. Vibe & Value: The interior has a cool atmosphere with murals and a fish tank, though the wall clock is currently "stuck in time" (broken). On a Friday night around 5pm, this place wasn't busy! I think they're still in their opening days. I originally tried to get the lemongrass beef vermicelli with tofu substituted for beef, but they don't allow that substitution. So I got the tofu pho. Our food came out quickly. This serving size was good enough for 2 portions; they gave so much tofu! The tofu was fried well. The broth was tasty, especially with the jalapeños because it adds a nice kick. Though I don't know if the broth is vegetarian. They gave a good amount of noodles too. The worker wasn't too friendly, but later she did give my table and I a free Vietnamese yogurt on the house. I liked it, it was like a more vanilla-forward and less tangy version of a Greek yogurt. I also don't think they serve water here, you have to buy water bottles. read more

The food is some of the best fried food in town. Over looked or not known. This Vietnamese restaurant is a sure gem. Off of Colton and Orange ave. This place is clean vibrant with clean bathroom for customers. I love mojarra. So if you love fried fish this is the spot for you. The salmon is killer. Sushi grade fish. Eat it fresh. It will make you come back for more. The service gentlemen is very nice and polite. Spicy or non spicy. I have non spicy. So happy this is near my home. I love bun Bo hue and this is the only place in the area that feels authentic. I can tell the broth is made from scratch because of the depth of flavor and spices in the broth. The meat is so so tender. I wish the noodles were a bit softer but this can be fixed easily if they would just boil the noodles before adding to the soup. The banh mi had all the classic Vietnamese fixings and the bread is baked on site. I wish the bread was more flavorful. The beef stew was more soupy than I am used to. I wish it was closer to a stew. Had the Chicken Banh Mi for lunch today and HAD to write a review. It was packed full of delicious chicken and veggies and was so big I saved half for dinner. I love whatever they are sautéing their chicken in, it tasted so good! The heat from the thin sliced jalapeño was just perfect. Had a kick but wasn't overwhelming. I think slicing the jalapeños the way they do (length wise and thin) really helps to get just enough in every bite. I ordered on DD so I can't speak to the service or atmosphere, but I intend to drop by soon. I highly recommend the Banh Mi (in case you can't tell ) I want to try the tofu next! ! read more

Worst customer service of my life. Called in order - the man misheard me - I ordered 2 fried fish & some other items. I requested one extra large one medium- both NO spicy. I have an ulcer & my fiancé does not like spicy at all. I get to Saigon to pick up the order & the man said 2 extra large fish one spicy one not spicy. I said NO one extra large one medium both NO spicy. He said " you should have ordered in person" lol - then he says it's not that spicy so I said I can't eat spicy I have an ulcer. He continued to argue. I said ok fine I'll take it. He said I will charge for one medium on extra large. He didn't. He charged one large one extra large. I get back to my hotel - try to eat the fish & it is inedible- completely covered in an extreme amount of cayenne. I called him to tell him I tried to eat it but it's so hot it's burning my mouth (way hotter than hot chips). So I tell him sorry I can't eat it- he tells me rudely fine come in I'll refund you - I said I can bring the whole fish no problem but I still want one without spice (which is why I ordered lol to have dinner). He says no I will not make you one. I said I don't need a refund I will bring you the whole fish & just want to exchange for a not spicy fish, which is what I ORDERED. He said I can refuse service to you. I said for what? You getting my order wrong? lol he said I did not get it wrong. I laughed I said I ordered one medium one extra large no spicy you gave me 2 extra large one spicy. That is not what I ordered. He kept arguing saying I have the phone call recording - I said play it then. I think I know what I ordered as I have an ulcer I can't eat spicy I still tried to eat it just to not waste a whole fish but it was insane spicy. I told him I don't want the refund but if you would just apologize when you make a mistake it would go a long way and you would keep customers. I then said please play the recording and then call me back to apologize which he did not. Horrible rude man. Not hard to apologize and if he can't afford to replace a fish because he messed up then he should maybe charge a couple dollars more to account for any possible mistakes. The peppers inside the sandwich packed a punch that gave the sandwich the right amount of heat. The bonus is how reasonably priced they were! I also tried the spring rolls and really enjoyed the peanut sauce which I'm usually not a fan of. I ordered the beef stew banh mi and lemongrass beef vermicelli. I really enjoyed the lemongrass beef vermicelli because the lemongrass flavor was not too overpowering and the beef was very savory. The beef could have been a bit more tender, but the flavor was amazing. The vermicelli dish is very light and refreshing. The beef stew banh mi was very flavorful and delicious as well. You can really taste the cinnamon, cloves, and star anise. For me personally, I do prefer an even balance between those spices and the savory bone broth. In addition, the beef inside the stew was very tender. This dish is also accompanied by two large banh mi, which are perfectly crusty on the outside and soft inside. I did try to order their sugar cane juice. However, they did not have any in stock when I visited. Inside, it seemed like the store was still doing renovations. Tried the BBQ pork banh mi and the char siu pork banh mi and wow, both were amazing! The bread had that perfect crunch, and the fillings were super flavorful and generous. The pork was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It's seriously great to have something like this in Redlands. Heads up, the jalapeños add a serious kick, so take them out if you're not into spice. But definitely keep the pickled veggies, they give the sandwich that perfect balance and crunch. Today we tried pork and shrimp egg rolls and more pork bahn mi sandwiches. The menu has expanded with American Chinese take out like plates available. I saw glass noodles were an option for $1 more and I love glass noodles. These are a great gluten free or gluten conscious option too. The hot egg rolls were the cold spring rolls only heated. Pork, vegetable and beef are also available. I honestly can't wait to come back and try new things. Good thing I live in the neighborhood. I also saw that there are no longer steam tables and they are cooking to order to make the food fresh. It seems pretty popular too. I was encouraged to see people of all cultures ordering take out. I just heard about this place after driving by multiple times. Yesterday I went and ordered a bon me sandwich and pho both to go. I ate the sandwich last night and it was perfect. Just the right amount of heat and lots of fresh veggies on super fresh bread. I saved the.pho for today and it was phenomenal. It had all the fixings, with perfect packaging, and tasted amazing. I wasn't sure about the meatball that was included, so I gave it to my dog, and if she had thumbs, it would've been a thumbs up from her. Omg the crawfish boil is 1000/10!!!! The flavors in the sauce were insane and so delicious! They're doing 20% off the seafood boil so it only came out to about $40. I would say the seafood boil can feed two people. The potato was a bit undercooked, but my husband still ate it. The crawfish were a really nice size and the sausage and corn were great. I've only been here for takeout but the staff was super nice, and my togo box was jam packed with food!! It's not a sit down restaurant with waiters but kind of like a quick ish food spot. Like a Hawaiian bbq spot but for Vietnamese food! They do have a few tables and you are able to eat there but I was on my lunch break so I wasn't able to. They always have different specials going on and I got the combination plate. Super affordable spot especially for the amount of food they give you. So happy to have found this little Vietnamese shop here in Redlands. I am Vietnamese and am from the Bay Area, so I am always craving Vietnamese foods, especially ones that I can easily grab to go. I got the banh mi heo quay (roasted pork). It was tasty! Very flavorful. I wish they added more veggies and toasted my sandwich bread more. I toasted it at home and it tasted much better. While I prefer the heo quay to be crispy, (this place did not have crispy heo quay) it still tasted good. I also got a tofu banh mi. They don't have it listed on the menu, but it is an option after we asked. My partner also wished it had more vegetables, but says the flavor of the tofu was really good. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. It was very delicious! It is on the sweeter side. Next time, I would ask for less sweetener. I would go back! read more

On a whim, I came in after browsing Yelp and found a true gem. Saigon Delights is AWESOME! The food is delicious, and the staff are super polite! My allergies were handled with great care, and the store was clean and had good prevention for cross-contact. Overall, I will return and get another Thai tea and Bahn mi! I can't rate the ambience as my husband picked up the order. Service over the phone was great. Placed a eggroll catering ordering over the phone a couple days prior without issues. I called the same day to confirm and that was it. Food 6/10: I ordered 40 eggrolls to pick up at 2pm for my party at 4pm. They definitely were not fresh when we finally had it so I can't completely rate it. But the egg rolls itself had little to no flavor. The sauce it came with was not your typical sweet and sour or even fish sauce dip. I cater eggrolls at least once a month for random events and the eggrolls I normally get from somewhere else are still crunchy even after 3-4 hours. The price wasn't bad but i definitely need to try them fresh before I'd give a legit review. read more

Naaaaah. Went to try it bc it looked so good from photos but it's just not, unfortunately. First the good: The employees were very sweet, the inside is well decorated for a little strip mall location, the prices were great and the choices were enough to have variety without being overwhelming. We really wanted to like it. The kinda bad: My husband and I both ordered two option plates. I ordered half chow mein, half glass noodles with fish sauce wings and pork. They were out of both glass noodles and the wings. My husband ordered a beef skewer, pork with half chow mein half fried rice and they were out of fried rice... they were out of fried rice. They have signs everywhere saying they won't be using their steam trays anymore and cooking everything to order now so it was a little confusing to not have something like fried rice cooked to order? But, oh well, we subbed it all out and moved on. The noodles were ok but fairly bland and hardly had any veggies. It was just a bunch of noodles and some were crunchy and dried out. The pork was very good and the tofu that I got instead of wings was decent. My husband enjoyed his beef and pork but agreed the noodles were entirely bland. Our friend got the roasted pork banh mi and said it was just ok but fairly dry and a little bland. He did say the veggie egg rolls were really good, though. The really bad: I tossed on some shrimp spring rolls while I was ordering and they took a pack that had been sitting on the counter in Saran wrap the entire time I'd been in the restaurant and put it in my bag. No refrigeration, not on ice. Just totally room temperature shrimp spring rolls that had been sitting out on display. When I got back to my car I checked them to make sure they hadn't been chilled immediately before I got there or something and they were all entirely warm. I have no idea how long those were sitting out on a counter (inside a restaurant that was pretty warm) but that's absolutely a health code violation. I had assumed they were a display item when I first saw them and was shocked they actually served them to somebody. I didn't eat them. EDITING TO ADD BC OF OWNER REPLY: because I am not a food service worker and was not positive on the rules of having food left out, I did look for some sort of marking on the package to see when they had been prepared. I know food can safely be left at room temp for 2-4 hours so I checked the package to see if there was a time written when I pulled it out of the bag and I could not find one. Upon looking into this further I discovered that the health department has educated them on this exact practice several times. They have received violations for leaving food at unsafe temperatures in the past. All food places will be out of compliance at some point and they still have an A rating so take that for what you will, but it still remains concerning. The really bad: my friend who ordered the sandwich and egg rolls ended up violently ill a few hours after we ate. So I guess that's sort of the nail in the coffin that we won't be back. read more
