Went to Happy Mediums recently and I'm still thinking about that Muffuletta sandwich. I was in New Orleans last fall and made it a point to try a few Muffulettas over there, so I came in with pretty high expectations. Somehow, Happy Mediums beat them all. The bread, the sesame seeds, the sauces they use, the meat -- everything just worked together perfectly. It had everything I didn't even know I wanted in a Muffuletta. Every bite was either taking my breath away or draining all my energy because I had to stop and process how good it was. Either way, I kept staring at my sandwich in disbelief that I traveled all the way to NOLA for Muffulettas only to realize the best one was closer to home this whole time. Boy, am I lucky. Since it was my first visit, they also gave me a slice of their passion fruit pie to try. The flavor was great -- nice and tart, slightly sour, and the crust was baked perfectly. It just wasn't really for me since I'm not much of a pie person to begin with. But I ended up ordering a whole pie to take home because I knew my mom would love it, and I was absolutely right. I kept seeing this place pop up on my Instagram and decided we it my time to try it. It was a little cold that day but we ended up eating outside. I got a Reuben sandwich and since it was my first time they gave me a free slice of pie. The sandwich was very filling, I like how everything seemed very fresh/local, the sauce paired well with the sandwich and didn't over power. The second time I came in I got the hoagie with turkey. Honestly I think everything is good the attention to detail and care for each sandwich matched what they were as a brand. Simple but delicious. this place is a nice small local restaurant and felt very farm-to-table. the staff were nice and answered all my questions. the restaurant itself is farmstyle and might host 8 inside and another 6-8 outside. doesn't seem like there's a bathroom available. however i am knocking off a star because i thought it was misleading to say smoked fish in the menu item but it was more like a canned tuna/salmon consistency (although I know some canned salmons are smoked?). the menu prices I think are a bit high although I think you are paying for the quality. if I could do a half star I would and go 3.5 but since I loved the food still, keeping it at a 4. other than that, the rest of the food was great! the passion fruit pie was especially tasty and had a strong tart flavor balanced by the toasted whipped cream on top. would definitely come again to try their other items as i thought it was amazing quality. read more

The half muffaletta was a generous portion and was thick, flavorful, and a little messy in the best way. My boyfriend loved it. The crispy potatoes were also done really well. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not greasy at all. The passion fruit pie was amazing too. Super intense passion fruit flavor, like multiple fruits packed into one slice. It's not overly sweet and leans a little tart (which I loved), and the crust was perfectly crumbly. I can see why almost every table had one. The French toast wasn't my personal favorite since I'm not big on cinnamon, but the lemon and basil combination was really interesting and I can see others loving it. The black currant iced tea was unsweetened, smooth, and really refreshing with no bitterness, probably cold brewed. Very refreshing. Easily a 10/5. I first tried Happy Mediums after seeing a positive online video. I went and got the same order that I'd seen in the video. I got a muffuletta sandwich, smashed potatoes and the passion fruit pie. Everything was not only good, but exceptionally delicious! The bread was amazing, the fillings were fresh and swoon worthy, the potatoes were the best I've ever had, served with an incredible sauce and a wedge of lemon and the pie was to die for. I kept thinking about the fantastic food and quickly went back with a friend. This time I tried the tri tip sandwich, the potatoes again and the French toast bread pudding with lemon curd. The sandwich was like nothing I've ever tasted. It had melt in your mouth cubes of tri tip with orange slices and one of the best sauces I've ever had. The dessert was so so good.
