I'm almost hesitant to write a review for this restaurant. NOT because they don't deserve one -- they do. But the two reviews that already exist on Yelp are almost exactly what I would write, so why add to what's already accurate? The truth is, this place is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in 20 states in the US and you can tell why: They Try Hard. The staff and owners are constantly in motion in this little restaurant. The food is delicious, served right on time, and using high quality ingredients. Whatever is necessary to make a good restaurant (ok, a great restaurant), this place does it. Friendly? Almost to a fault. Extensive menu? Yep. Delicious?? Uh, yeah, that too. If you're within a 20 mile radius of this restaurant it should become one of your regular places to go. read more

We were on the road and needed a place for a late lunch/early dinner. We found this place on yelp and were delighted. First the crisp noodles are homemade, huge and plentiful. The wonton soup had a nice flavor. Best of all my Beef Chow Fun was delicious. The beef was tender quality meat. The rice noodles were delicious and flavorful. The food was fresh and best of all it was not overly salted like many Chinese restaurants tend to do. if I lived near here I would certainly be a regular. read more

Take Out Service Only Review. Sushi - not the best but for a Chinese place it's alright. They certainly give you plenty of sushi rolls for the price. Almost better in price compared to sushi restaurants, but Mikado in Marlton is 10x better. Chinese Food - Average. no specific dish stands out to me. Crab Ragoons are better elsewhere. "Chef Chans anyone?" "Yes please!" What can I say? This is my local Chinese place and sets the bar for anything else I try. My family and I have been coming here for years( ever since I was in middle school and just like everyone else Samuel and Mindy have always made us feel like a part of the Chef Chan's family. Best chinese in the area. However, the waiter sounded like he was running a verbal script and was nagging us too often for our orders. Give me a minute, will ya? Came here for lunch recently with my parents, and we all ordered from the lunch menu. Not sure if it's because we ordered from the lunch menu, or if it's because I haven't been here in a while, but the food was just sub-par. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, which comes w/ pork fried rice and wonton soup. I also ordered an egg roll for an extra $1.50. The food was just ok. Both the pork fried rice & pork egg roll were completely devoid of any pork, and the chicken was swimming in sauce. Actually I think I found one tiny minuscule piece of pork in the rice, but that was it. Aside from the lack of meat in the sides, they were also both bland of flavor & color. The rice, a slightly light brown, a couple of peas and carrot chunks, was not the 'fried rice' I previously remembered being full of flavor & ingredients . And the egg roll, although it was nice & golden brown on the outside, the inside was a pale green, almost yellow, without any of the other things generally found inside an egg roll (pork, carrots, etc.). My stepdad ordered the sweet & sour shrimp (also swimming in sauce) and only received 3 shrimp as the meal, which seems a little on the small side. Service was slow, especially considering there was only one other table. They did bring us the standard hot tea & fried Chinese noodles to start, and fortune cookies when we paid. Nothing here was really a stand out, and prices were standard. If you're looking for just an average Chinese food fix, this will satisfy that for you, but I would much rather prefer to frequent the take-out only, Wok 'N Roll in Magnolia on Evesham Rd., for my future Chinese food fixes. read more

Have only had the take out several times and quality is excellent. Best chinese I have had in the area. They have a sushi bar but I don't mix cuisines. Samuel is a great host. Must go back to eat in. Food is always better when served fresh and hot. read more

Good take out Chinese with HUGE portions. The staff is super friendly. Do NOT get the sushi. I ordered a tuna roll and rainbow roll and barely got through one piece of each BC the fish just wasn't fresh enough. That's what I get for ordering sushi from Chinese takeout though. read more

We've been coming to Chef Chan's for years. Not only for casual dinners but for special family occasions. Sam and Mindy are so accommodating, especially for our large and sometimes loud family. They love our children, and allow them to be children while we dine. They aren't necessarily running a muck, but their children; loud, boisterous and love the fish tank!! read more

This place is right around the corner from my job. I order atleast once a week if not more. You can't beat the lunch prices or the amount you get. Now I'm not sure if its because I am a regular and they know me, but if I don't want something, say the soup, they will replace it with an extra piece of sushi or soda. Ordered take-out from this restaurant on 10/25/2016. I was not impressed with quality or taste of the food. The General Tso's chicken I ordered was disappointing. Some pieces of chicken were way over-cooked, and turned hard and chewy. It was just chicken, not enough sauce in the container, and no peppers or any veggies. I'm probably not going to return to this restaurant. There are so many other Chinese restaurants I could go to instead. read more

After ordering here a couple times now I have to say it is a solid American-Chinese spot offering good value and excellent service. Orders are ready promptly and served hot, staff is always smiling. Most of the menu items I've sampled so far are above average but will still kill you early. The portions are satisfying for the price and it's like your dinner tonight will extend to lunch tomorrow. Not sure what the hype is on this restaurant. Food (take out) was bland and unimpressive. Pan fried dumplings had virtually no taste/spicing and steamed dumplings were even worse. Sesame chicken and Generals Chicken were in EXACTLY the same sauce, except sesame seeds on one and none on the other. Rice was clumped and over-cooked. So bad that the leftovers went down the disposal and not into refrigerator. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

I found Chef Chan's after my first three choices were closed on a Monday. I am glad i did. From the crunchy fried noodles to the chicken fried rice it was all exceptional. The sweet and sour chicken was the best i ever had. I also was happy the hot mustard was mixed in the Kitchen and not the packaged variety. The service was real friendly and attentive. Came from Maine to visit family. Found this place after a quick search of places to eat near our hotel. Ordered vegetable fried rice and general tso's tofu. Perfectly cooked, not greasy and large portions. Best of all, the service was wonderful. Friendliest server I have had in years. Meal came to $21. Very impressed. I usually don't write reviews, but I had to because this was the worst dining experience I had in my life. The food is average, like any other Chinese takeout. The price, however, is on the high side for takeout. The service was terrible and is the reason I gave it 1 star. The waiter I had was male and in his 50s and very irritable. Hopefully, he is not the owner because this guy does not know how to promote his business. Since it was my first time there, I wanted to ask about the food and he could not accommodate me for more than 1 question. I asked for recommendations and his response was, "Look at the menu." The other staff members were nice and clear the plates and filled the drinks promptly. But if I wanted takeout food, I could have gotten it at a better price and with better attitude. read more

I've lived around the corner from this restaurant for years and never knew that I was sitting on a goldmine! Everything I have ordered has been delicious. The house special fried rice is very light and flavorful, no need to add soy sauce. So that's a staple with every order. The service, where can I begin. Whenever I go in, they are calling other patrons by their first name. They ask about grandparents, and even ask how the kids are doing. They remember their customers and take a personal interest in them. There is absolutely nothing derogatory that I could say about the quality of food and the level of service that this restaurant provides. Extremely mediocre. General Tso's was all breading and what barely looks like dark meat. The beef in the beef & broccoli was just plain bad. Pork fried rice had zero flavor. Even the egg drop soup was bad. Portions are small and prices are 40% more than what you'll pay at one of those good hole in the wall joints. Save a trip. read more

Chef Chan's is by far the best place to go if you want some miso soup and sushi, with a side of awesome service. Ray and Sam always greet my boyfriend and I by name, as well as other diners who enter the restaurant. The food is always fresh, and it's never too loud in there.
