I was looking for a reasonably fast takeout dinner and remembered ordering from Kam Luang about six months ago. According to my previous Yelp review, they were quick, the food was hot, and I especially enjoyed the Chicken Cashew. This time I ordered the Chicken Cashew again and decided to try the House Special Lo Mein (small), which included shrimp, chicken, and pork. The total came to $23 with tax. The woman at the counter said it would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes, and about six minutes later I was walking out the door with two bags of food. Five minutes later at my hotel, I opened the containers and found everything was still piping hot and quite tasty. The Chicken Cashew came in a relatively light sauce with diced zucchini and wasn't overly salty. The House Special Lo Mein was also very good and surprisingly generous for a small order. The meal included a small container of white rice and two fortune cookies. Kam Luang Chinese Kitchen has a few tables, but it's primarily a takeout restaurant. In fairness, the dining area looks a little tired and could use a facelift, but the food has been consistently good, the service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, another solid experience. Four stars, and I'd happily return. read more

Very standard Chinese take out. Online ordering is convenient. I requested my chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce instead of the regular brown sauce and the garlic sauce tasted very funky. Our new go to Chinese place. We had a very convenient store near us that closed. We went all over to find another local place that offered solid food for a good value. We found that with Lam Luang. They have a nice menu selection with the typical fare and a few unique dishes. Highly recommend spicy pepper chicken. They do a nice fried rice. Always flavorful and cooked well. Every time I passed Kam Luang I have to stopby to get some food that I like. All the dishes are so delicious--their sesame chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, vegetable dumpling is very fresh. The staffs are very frendly. Every time I bring my dog Shiba Inu inside the restaurant and they always welcome him. They have many options of foods and the place is very clean and tidy. Last weekend we at here and I'm finally getting to write the review...nothing was really bad, just nothing was great either. The one main problem we had was with the Crab Rangoon - the centers were raw (uncooked wonton wrapper) and there was little to no crab filling. We each took a bite and threw out the rest. I ordered Kam Luang take out on 3/17 MUST ORDER: The beef on a stick appetizer! It is incredible. A tangy sauce that is absolutely delicious. I was only upset because I didn't order more of these. I also enjoyed the steamed pork dumplings. These were better than most dumplings I've had at Chinese food spots around the areas. If you are a dumpling fan these are an excellent choice. I decided to switch up from my normal orders and got the shredded beef Szechuan style. I really enjoy it! The meat was delicious. The sauce and veggies mixed well with rice to create a perfect compliment to the protein. I also enjoyed a side of wonton soup with my lunch special. This was status quo and certainly enjoyable on a cold spring day. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the portions were slightly small. And I expected to have more beef with my main entree. Strange. I've lived in my current neighborhood for 19 years and I never knew this place had a dine-in option. Came here last week for a girls lunch and was pleasantly surprised. They offer a lunch buffet that looked promising though ultimately we all passed on that and ordered 3 dishes to share + scallion pancakes. My friend had a fried fish dish that was delicious - it was almost like general tso's fish for lack of a better description. I had orange flavored beef and my friend had a chicken dish. Everything was really good but the fish dish was a standout. I'll be honest - I'm very loyal when it comes to Chinese spots so even though we have a couple of favorites in the area I will definitely be adding this one to the rotation. This place is great I highly recommend the Szechwan dumplings and the gernal Tso it says spicy but it was filled with more flavor than heat! My parents came to visit from NYC where there is an abundance of Chinese restaurants, yet they still enjoy Chinese food wherever they go. I thought of a bunch of places to take them near me and Kam Luang is what I decided on. They do not rush you out like other Asian places do, service was pleasant, the decor was pretty and neat, and the food was quite tasty. We had a party of 4, so we sampled 4 dishes: coconut shrimp, a chef specialty with 3 types of meat, tofu with garlic sauce, and pineapple fried rice. When the food arrived, I thought for sure we wouldn't be able to finish it, but we ended up polishing off all the plates-- that's how good it was! I'd love to try their lunch buffet one day, if I'm ever in the area during the workweek. read more

The food was good but I have to admit that I was a little disappointed at the portions compared to cost. It was also a little oiler than I would have liked. Not to say it was bad but it just wasn't as good as I had hoped. When I went we had tried the general Tao chicken, pork friend rice, mixed shrimp dish, dumplings and crab rangoons. The favorites were the dumplings that were perfectly cooked and spicy. The downer was the rangoons that were nothing but dough and over cooked. The other dishes were tasty but a bit too over breaded, making them soggier than I would have liked. read more

I tried Kam Luang tonight based on the reviews I found here on Yelp and elsewhere online. I wasn't disappointed. I didn't have a menu, so I had to order some items I thought might be available- vegetable chow fun, orange chicken, and pan-fried vegetable dumplings. I was quoted a half-hour wait for delivery. The total for the three items was fairly high (almost $30) but I figured it was worth a try. The food got here exactly as stated, and I cracked open all the various containers. The orange chicken was very, very good- semi-spicy, white meat chicken, quite saucy. The veggie dumplings were large and obviously homemade, very tasty. The chow fun was a little lacking in flavor, but still good. All of the portions were quite big, making the sting of the price a little less harsh. The items were also packaged fairly carefully, in solid plastic containers that didn't leak, and with cardboard separators in a nice little brown bag with handles. I guess that seems a little silly to comment on, but I really dislike pulling my food out of a wet paper bag with juices leaking into different dishes. Overall, I was very satisfied with my dinner and I will likely order again. I stuffed myself happily on tonight's order and I'll gladly have it for leftovers tomorrow... and now I have a menu for next time! read more

I used to live around the corner 10 yrs ago and got my "Kam Luang" fix at least 3x a week. After I moved to Texas, Kam Laung was the one thing I missed. Last week, I traveled 2000 miles and sat in the little dining booth and had my beef w/broccoli combo meal just like old times. It hasn't changed! The flavors are the same as I remembered. I was a bit torn on the rating but I feel Kam Luang is a solid 3 star. I'm not a big fan of American Chinese food so I may be skewed, but I have been to Kam Luang quite a few times when I worked nearby as my one co-worker loved their lunch buffet. When he wanted to come here I was hesitant at first but over the years gave in when he wanted it because it's 1) pretty good 2) a great value 3) quick. Over the years, despite lunch time being busy we never had to wait, the trays were always full and fresh and the service was always polite. I noticed they do have a separate side for their take out business, which always appears to be steady. It's not a place I'd go out of my way for if it wasn't around the corner from me, but It's perfect for those nights when I'm craving Chinese and don't want to drive too far. The whole order was $20 which I can't complain about. Prices range from $6.25 for chicken chow mein to $11.95 for a shrimp. chicken beef combo, which is the most expensive item on the menu. As someone who travels extensively on business, I tend to eat at a lot of average Chinese restaurants serving bland food. This is not an average restaurant, which is why it warrants a review. 1) The menu is a little different, with a blend of Chinese and Thai meals. I found some options that I've rarely seen elsewhere, and it took me time to decide. 2) They make the effort to present the meal nicely. It's just a small touch, but such things create a good impression on me. 3) The food was tasty and the serving generous (although the portion of rice was a little small). I enjoyed it to the last mouthful. Sadly, the restaurant was quite empty - but it did mean that service was prompt and attentive (but not overly so). Best chinise restaurant In the area. I really enjoyed the lunch buffet and everything tasted fresh. I've been here a few times for dinner and their fried rice is great. The only reason I came here was because the boy I babysit loves this restaurant and their shrimp fried rice. I ordered the sesame chicken entree and it was nice and crispy and very flavorful! This place seems to have two different restaurants in the same building, one is more like a takeout place and the other one is a fancier dining room. Ordered delivery based on the good reviews on here. I am definitely a fan. I ordered the sesame chicken, pan fried dumplings, wanton soup, house pad Thai, and ribs. I know... its a ton of food and It will take a couple days to go through it all, but I wanted to try a bunch of things. Dumplings are great and the hoisen sauce is tasty. House pad Thai is excellent. Just thinking about it is making me hungry again. Boneless ribs are very nice too and a large portion. Wanton is very good with a mild broth and perfectly cooked noodles. My wife said the sesame chicken was a bit dry, so I took a point off. Delivery was fast, professional, and came in a nice cloth bag like you get at a grocery store.
