If you don't want to go all the way to First Markham Place or scarborough and are craving chinese roastings and stir-fry, then definitely try this place. Roast pork is very crunchy and meat is not dry, we got BBQ pork and again it was tender and flavorful. Tried their salted fish claypot eggplant and loved it, serving was definitely generous. Staff is very friendly and helpful, place is very clean (you actually see the kitchen). Whole duck is $36.50. Service is quick.

I finally tried Chef JiaFu's food and was impressed by the value. Located east of Unionville, this takeout shop looks like an old-fashioned house with busy signage. Though I missed the opening deals, I still got a 20% discount, which was a great perk. The space is mainly for cooking, with a few seats for waiting. I called ahead, so my order was ready when I arrived, and the staff were helpful. I ordered three BBQ meats, all chopped into bite-sized pieces: #700 Roasted Duck: The duck was tender and juicy, with a golden-brown skin that added delicious texture. #701 Roasted Pork: The tender, meaty flesh paired well with the crispy pork skin. I dipped it in hoisin sauce for added flavour. Great portion for the price. #702 Steamed Chicken: Covered in yellow skin, the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. With the discount, the meal was a great deal, and my family loved it. Though it's a bit of a drive, I'd definitely recommend Chef JiaFu to those nearby and would try more of their offerings if I was in the area.

Great takeout place. Lots of variety and often have specials for lunch. I often get their chow mein or bbq pork.

Beef brisket was very fatty and what wasn't was tough to chew. Bbq pork rice was decent though.

The space is a bit tight and a little noisy. The food is a mix of Vietnamese tapas and classic dishes. I got the milk bread and spring rolls to start. The milk bread came with this durian butter which was interesting... the bread was nothing more than a dinner roll. I love the spring rolls and perfect starter for sharing. I had the pho and it was good. The broth is nice and well seasoned, though not as fragrant as others I have had. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were a hit, the potatoes were so creamy. The chicken rice was average, probably wouldn't order again. The menu is extensive and so much I want to try next time. Sadly the service sucked, they were so slow in giving us menu, water, taking orders. No one checked up on us, and had to flag for the bill. I would come back once more to try their other dishes.

Between the two well-known Chinese BBQ spots in First Markham Place, it was tough to choose, but we…read moreended up going with HKS. Both had long lineups around lunchtime, but I liked that this spot offers the option to pair your meats with either noodles or rice. The duck was meaty and plump, with beautifully glistening skin. The roasted pork was perfectly seasoned, featuring that addictively crisp, crackly skin. The BBQ pork was equally impressive, tender and juicy with a glossy, caramelized exterior that balanced sweet and savory flavors really well. None of the meats felt overly fatty or heavy, and when paired with steamed cabbage and your choice of noodles or rice, it made for a really satisfying meal. The vermicelli noodles were thick and chewy, and they come with a side of broth in addition to the soups. The soup itself was light with a pleasant herbal note. The noodle broth, however, had great chicken flavor but was slightly too salty for my taste, so I ended up diluting it a bit to fully enjoy it.

There has been a long debate as to left or right BBQ shop to reign supreme. I find the flavourings of HKS to suite my taste buds more. Not to say Excellent is bad but just not what I was brought up with. To each their own. The combo prices have slowly crept up over the years from the 5.99 two meal combo to the current 9.99 price point I enjoy the BBQ pork and duck as the pork has a nice meat texture with crisp skin along with the duck that is meaty and not too fatty with a nice seasoning to infuse through the meat while roasting. The shop is in a food court and if you are looking for a romantic meal for 2... this may not be your ideal destination. If you are looking for more of a HK hustle and bustle with a side attitude if you take too long to go with your meal, this is the place for you. Do prepared for a long queue to get your meal during the prime weekend times that may be up to 40+ minutes to get your meal
