This was a go-to spot in my childhood and few out of it, but was recently re-introduced and genuinely surprised at why I stopped coming here. The roasted duck noodles are so popular, and for good reason - duck wasn't too skinny/tough and not too fat - a perfect mix, and the noodles weren't broken like other spots I've been too. The portion was also much larger. Dined in and it was delicious - just order, grab a seat, and the service is so quick that you barely need to wait 2 minutes and can grab your food to your table. Also got the char Siu rice and a roasted duck rice to go. Again, the duck did not disappoint. The char Siu was also done well. This place deserves 5 stars. One of the better Chinese bbq shops in the gta. Top notch quality and quantity. Let me explain. I ordered 4 orders of 2 bbq meats on rice and upgraded one to a 3 meats combo. Each order was $14.99 and one was $4 more for the upgrade. Total came out to $72.28 incl. tax. It came with 4 soups as well and in 2 bags. Right away when carrying it home. I noticed it was extremely heavy indicating the quantity must have been there. Oh boy, yes it was. When I got home and opened them up. I was pleasantly surprised at how fully loaded each box was. And that's not all. When devouring these combos. The flavours exploded in my mouth. The aromas and I think it's called "wok hay" was amazing. Each bite was an over abundance of joy and excitement. Oh my. Now, I will say this, at $72.28. It was in the pricier side. I really like their bbq pork and duck. The meat to fat to crispy ratio is prefect! I like when the meat isn't too fatty and super crispy which is why I loved this place. You can see in the picture as well it was prefect. I love that they give you soup as well they also have daily special but honestly their items are priced pretty well anyways. The lady and cooks were worked super fast. New meat was constantly being bought out. The only thing I will say, is the lines are always super super long so be prepared for a bit of a wait. I used to like this place. Today was a poor experience with waiting when I am next in line. No eye contact for a long time to ask for my order and it's because they were making other orders. They made extra 6 boxes of food and putting it under their counter before I gave my order. That's how long I waited. I didn't know if it was telephone orders but definitely not orders from the customers in line. Proper customer service would be alternating so customers in line don't have to wait too long. This is one of the best bbq places I had In Canada. They offer a wide selection of food that can be purchased by the pound or as a meal (with rice). The service is great and the staffs are very friendly. I see mostly takeout but they do have limited dine in seats. It is a good place for a quick meal. Their serving size is generous and their food is tasty. I love the bbq pork, roast pig and duck. I really like the sauce. This hidden gem is located in what I call the "haunted" mall in Richmond Hill. I've been here many times for the Korean restaurant but this was my first time trying this Chinese BBQ place. Their menu is pretty standard to all the other bbq spots but I loved how they had noodle options. I choose to have the char siu and roasted duck on top of a bowl of egg noodle soup. The egg noodles were well cooked and there was plenty of veggies and they were generous with the meat. It was so comforting to find this here. The service was fast and friendly. There isn't a lot of sitting area here. Most people get take out. But they offer a lot of bbq items, all sold per pound. This place looks clean and tidy, the food was great. My meal came with soup, I'm not too sure what kind of soup it was, but appeared to have a whitish colouring and meaty flavour and salty, but not overly salted. My friend is a regular visitor of this traditional bbq house and I have to say that this place has THE BEST Roasted duck and CRISPY.. and I mean SUPER crispy melt in your mouth skin Siu Yok (crispy roasted pork) that you have ever tasted in Toronto. I thought I was okay with my local west end Chinese grocery store siu yok due to covid but I will not be going back to any other place other than Excellent Bbq!! Their brown roasted duck skin perfectly glistens underneath your indoor dining lights and each bite is full of flavour and meaty goodness. Their ducks are lean and thick but have a nice layer thin of succulence. They were definitely not scrawny ducks. My favorite dish would be their crispy siu yok (roasted pork). I actually really like the food at this place. I had a double meat rice, which was roast BBQ Pork and Sausage. The rice has a salty sauce on it and the meal came with vegetables, a soup, and a cup of cold chrysanthemum tea. All of this was under $10. What a steal. So this place is not known to be a fancy sit-down place, and I would never bring my date here for any special occasion. This is about as dingy as you could get in terms of Chinese cuisine. It is mostly a restaurant in which you order, you pick a table that is the least dirty, inhale your food, and quickly dip. So I already knew that I should not expect sparkling tables or marble walls. This is not the Four Seasons. So by the food itself, I would say it would be a 4 * because it tasted really good, it was not really salty, and the outside of the meat was a little bit crunchy, so you really felt the juiciness of the meat. I deducted two stars from the rating because of sanitary reasons. The floor was sticky or slimy, depending on where you were walking and how fast you were walking. Bringing a tray of food which also has liquids was a real test of balance for me. Most of the tables were sticky or had really greasy marks on them, especially the ones with the plastic covering. The wooden tables were evidently sticky, so it was quite questionable as to how and when they clean them. Because of these hygienic warnings, I might never come back here again. I really like marinated tofu and other marinated food items, so it worries me that the floor and the front of the store is so dirty. Who knows what could be running around in the kitchen at night time when no one is around? At least the cutlery were clean. I do hope to come back sometime in my lifetime, but only when they're floors are not sticky or slimy, and also when their tables are clean and my neck and does not tear when I'm trying to pick it up off the table. read more

Not exactly bad but not the style that is made in most HK BBQ style restaurants today. The food has really simple flavors. As for the bbq duck rice noodle (lai fun) soup, the noodles were a bit over cooked but the broth was flavourful along with the generous portion of duck, that it made up for that. Each rice dish included a side bowl of soup and a cup of sweetened herbal tea. The noodle soup included a cup of sweetened herbal tea. However, tonight's experience was rather disappointing. I had ordered half a duck for takeout. Usually the portion sizes and quality are fairly good based on my previous experiences so I don't do a double check before leaving. I got my takeout and just went home. When I opened it up to transfer over to a plate, it was SUPER disappointing!! Only the top part was meat I would say 6 pieces, the rest was either skin fat towards the butt area, bones near the chest with no meat and lots of neck pieces; these were tucked under the meat thus no noticeable at all! Or rather say VERY SNEAKY!! Other than the feeling that I got super ripped off with the amount I paid for and the quantity I got, the taste was great! Well marinated, not over salty but flavourful, the meat was very tender and juicy! Located in Richlane Mall, a food centric plaza, Excellent BBQ actually does serve some excellent Chinese BBQ! Unlike most BBQ joints this place does have a few tables and is generally quite clean. Depending on what rice or noodle combo you order, prices range from $8 to $10. My Chinese BBQ reviews are usually based on the Roast Pork and BBQ Pork rice combo which comes with the two meats, rice, veggies, sauce, soup and soy milk. You also can add your own amount of garlic/onion and chili oil condiment which is a nice plus. Portions are big and the value here is excellent! The roast pork and BBQ pork were both really tender and pretty lean which is what I prefer. Some purist prefer a half lean/half fatty version, but personally I much rather have leaner cuts so that is a huge plus. Skin was crispy and the meat delicious. As their English name suggests, this is an excellent place for Chinese bbq in the otherwise uninspiring "Richlane Mall". One of the first things you notice when you walk in are the two portraits of former Prime Minister, Jean Chretien and his wife dining at the restaurant. For $9.50, I got the roast pork-roast duck on rice. It comes with soup and your choice of soy milk or "cooling tea". The BBQ is served with a few veggies and a heaping portion of rice. The rice is served with sauce/drippings so you don't have to worry about it being dry. You can also take as much hoisin and ginger scallion sauce as you'd like. The BBQ is delicious as the skin of the roast pork stays crispy, and has a nice balance between fat and meat. The roast duck also has nice, crisp skin, and tender meat. Neither are too salty. You really get your value from this place; the meal can even be separated into two if you have a small appetite. This is probably my favourite Chinese BBQ joint. read more

Wow the quality of this place went into the floor. They must be struggling as they are now even pricing higher than the scale shows. (Weighted the meat at home, 0.35lbs charged 0.6lbs). Not to mention the roast pork skin was burnt/soggy. To top it off they increased the prices. It's almost 2x the price of other Chinese bbq. I was already there so decided to buy some. I asked for lean meat and they tossed a couple pieces of solid fat inside. Not sure why, fat doesn't weight much so it probably barely changed the scale. However they seem to be giving more sauces lately. They usually give you one sauce per portion of meat you buy. Now they give you multiple containers of it without even mentioning anything about sauce. I guess they're trying to save money on the meat and then give more sauces to make it seem like it was a good deal.
