We went on a Tuesday at about 5 and it was not very busy. We had skipped lunch and tried quite a few things and everything was amazing! My son and husband has the double shack burgers, my daughter had a coney and I had a chicken teriyaki taco, chorizo taco and fried pickle. We also tried the beer cheese and it was sooooo good. My husband had two beers from the brewery and was a fun of both of them. Overall wonderful experience. read more

The beer at Buckeye Lake Brewery is fantastic! Unfortunately, the adjacent restaurant is not. We have ordered food on many occasions and have been underwhelmed and disappointed. Customer service is a sticking point. I ordered the Nachos that comes with meat and you can add black beans for $.50. Being a vegetarian, I skipped the meat and asked for black beans instead. I was told I would be charged .50 and it did not matter if I did not get the meat. So my $10.00 nachos had a dollop of black beans with the blandest queso I had ever tasted (how is that possible?), a little bit of lettuce, decent salsa and a generous scoop of sour cream. My husband has ordered burgers and other sandwiches, but it's always been OK and not immensely satisfying. read more

I just ate at Chef Shack. Attached to the Buckeye Lake Brewery. Wow, What a surprise! The food exceeded our expectations. Very reasonable too. We had the Mahi Mahi sandwich and the Reuben. Ate our meal in the Brewery and had some tasty beer as well. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

As if Kevin Gorham wasn't already a Buckeye Lake legend, here he has done it again. For years I took Pizza Cottage for granted because it's always been there...now I am reminded what it was that made PC great with Gorham's newest creation. The food is hands down LEGENDARY! The food is delicious! The little young girl at the counter needs to pay more attention. We sat and the cook ended up coming out and asking us if we knew how it worked. When we went up to place our order, the girl couldn't bring herself to look up from her laptop. In between my husband and I ordering, she flipped her screen back open and I didn't know when to start talking to finish the order. She did it to everyone, some guy brought his order back up, and another guy actually said something to her about how rude she was being. She didn't care. That being said, everyone else is so friendly and it's a great atmosphere and the food is phenomenal! Being right there with the brewery, it is awesome! I would've given 5 starts based off of my first to-go visit but the girl's attitude last night was very off-putting. Maybe next time she will notice people sitting, waiting to order, and let them know how it works instead of the cook having to come out. read more

The food here is worth the price, it is good and generous portions! My fav is the crab cake blt! I wish they made homemade chips and fish tacos but until they do I will be coming back for the crab cake blt! Delicious and obvious a step above the other options near by! read more

Great place since Kevin Gorham has taken over....he has redecorated and lightened and brightened it up and it is much more inviting. New menu is much better as is the quality of the food.... had the Chicken Sandwich the other night and it was very good....plus a side of cole slaw...it's nice and clean and run very smoothly...Place your order at the counter, they give you a buzzer when it's ready and you pick it up ....have non alcoholic beverages also which is great! Of course if you want beer or wine Buckeye Lake Brewery is right there too....Nice varied menu with something for everyone and also specials... Fun casual and much needed here at the Lake. read more

We were first waited on by a waitress from the brewery when she found out we didn't want beer and we were there for food she gave us the run down on how to order then she just quickly abandoned us again food was great and waitress from the chef shack was very helpful prices were fair and it's a local business and we are happy to support them read more

2nd time here and it is fantastic! Both visits we have ordered their specials and off the menu . Tonight had the ravioli with pesto mushroom cream sauce and shrimp linguine. Sooo good. Mediocre service and good food as long as you don't order the chicken taco. Came in and went to counter no one was there, noticed menus on table so sat down. Person from adjoining brewery came and asked if I wished to order any drinks. They had several craft selections of beer and soda. Reviewed sticky menu. Waited, I could hear employees talking in kitchen. Person from brewery came to take drink order from another table. At this point I asked if we had to go to the counter. I was told they didn't have table servers and had to order at the counter. Went to counter again and someone came out of back. You pay when placing order which is odd it asked for tip prior to receiving service (must just be their system) Left a 15% tip, but I recommend bringing cash for a tip. Definitely wait until after. When is the last time you tipped someone when you stand to place your order and then have to pick up your food when it's ready? My husband said the burger tasted really great, the fries were plentiful, fresh cut and were good while hot. I found near the bottom they were a bit greasy and not as crisp. Husband still polished them off. The salad was inexpensive, fresh and tasty (lettuce, carrot, tomato and cheese). My chicken taco was the only disappointment for food. The chicken was over seasoned. They use a dry seasoning: I picked up a piece and my fingers looked orangish red afterwards, like after a kids fingers after eating a bag of Cheetos. This was just one small piece, I picked up. The flour tortilla, although fresh, was straight out of the bag and not warmed. I offered the taco to my husband. After a bite, he said it was too salty. A first for him, he usually adds salt to everything. Although it was a large portion, I only had two bites. I set it aside. I noticed the person who took our order came to the two other tables and asked how their food was; however, they skipped ours. Perhaps, they did not want to hear why the taco was pushed aside. We would come back, but I would stick to the burgers. read more
