And for a period of time I was breastfeeding, I was gluten, dairy, and soy free. We needed to find someone who understood our limitations but could also cook delicious food. Boy, did we find the right person! I contacted several people, and Julie was the only one who took the time to write a personalized response (instead of the generic one I received from the others). She has extensive experience with food allergies and knew all about FODMAP. Several emails later, we had set up a time for an in-person meeting to go over everything. Julie took her time to explain everything to us. From food preferences, to what to expect each week, to payment, Julie was very thorough. She even walked through our kitchen to make sure she knew what items were missing and needed to bring. Every week she contacts us a few days before to ask us what we are craving. If we tell her to give suggestions, she happily obliges and her recommendations are always so enticing. She'll even research dishes that she is unfamiliar with and nails it on the first attempt. She always shows up on time, is always respectful of us since we both work from home, and cleans up after herself. Delicious food just seems to magically appear after only a few hours! On to the food. It is nothing short of scrumptious. Even with all our restrictions, Julie always manages to put so much flavor into every dish. Even something as "boring" as sautéed broccoli is seasoned to perfection. Our picky 2 year old will eat foods he normally never touches as long as Julie is the one who cooked it! If you're looking for a chef who is professional, organized, and clearly loves food, look no further than Julie. I randomly learned about Chef Julie from another Chef I found on Yelp. The Chef I found on Yelp did not service my area so she "highly recommended her colleague, Julie." We really wanted someone to come to our home to prepare some meals. The meals are primarily for my diabetic father but we all planned to partake in the delicious home cooking. I sent an email to Julie and she responded within an hour. We exchanged several emails. Each email was very thorough. Chef Julie is very reflective and works hard to ensure my family is getting exactly what we need and want. Chef Julie takes her time to plan and prepare the highest quality of meals. My family gets so excited when we know she's coming. She offers flexible scheduling and affordable pricing. We can't even tell you our favorites because there are too many. Each time she comes over we discover something new that we like. Chef Julie provides great recommendations for broadening our food repertoire. In conclusion, you should really check Chef Julie out. We met the owner Lisa over a year before our wedding and started discussing ideas for our menu. Over the course of the year, we ended up considering her and her boyfriend good friends who we could truly trust! She had so many creative ideas and made some really good recommendations for our menu. She was patient and understanding with me when I kept changing my mind and doubting our decisions. She re-assured me it will all go smoothly and that our guests will love it. I had exchanged numerous emails with her and she responded to each one with great detail. I told her our guests were very diverse, so we wanted a combo of Indian, Persian, Asian, and American food. She was able to do a very fusion menu since we were doing stations & tray-passed for cocktail hour and then a full buffet for dinner. She also did our fruit and dessert table which were absolutely stunning! We would have had her do our wedding cake also, but we had to go with the hotel on that. For cocktail hour we had 4 stations- sushi, Indian, flatbread, and salad. She served the salad in cute little martini glasses- my girl friends loved that! There was a big crowd surrounded by the sushi and we got so many compliments on how fresh the sushi tasted. Our guests really enjoyed the flatbread station too since they were making them right there in the oven. We had about 6 tray-passed items. A lot of guests thought the cocktail hour food was the dinner since it was so abundant, that they were surprised there was a full buffet dinner later.
