We were still working so we were discussing different work situations and answering calls through lunch so it wasn't necessarily a leisurely experience. My grandchildren and their cousins picked this restaurant for lunch during the week. The food was subpar and served at room temperature. The kids had a blast talking it up but ate very little. Just had dinner here. What a disappointment. The service was horrible and the food was cold. The salad was ok but the tomatoes should be ripe sometime next week. The bread sticks were cold. Had the Tour of Italy, fettuccine was cold. I usually stick with their endless soup and salad but I decided to do their Tour of Italy dish everything was pretty delicious but the alfredo was a little bit watery for me but not enough for me to send it back. It's my favorite thing to have when I visit them, and seems to be always fresh no matter the location. We also had the Alfredo fettuccine (lunch portion, but very filling). The restaurant is usually very clean, and the service is great. They also followed COVID restrictions inside the restaurant, and with our takeout order which was appreciated! Italian food is one of the world's mother cuisines, the culinary genesis of so much that we find upon our plates today. The restaurant itself is pleasant enough as is the service. The food itself is a facsimile of some of the more common Italian dishes, however, please keep in mind that the real deal of Italian cooking will be found more often than not in the mom-and-pop establishments. Of course, not every mom-and-pop place will be a stellar example of Italian cuisine, but the real talented chefs are usually found in these local mom-and-pop restaurants. Updated: My son spoke with the GM this morning, Kenneth was extremely professional, respectful and eager to handle the situation. I received a phone call within an hour and a half from Jordan saying he regretted the way he handled the situation and he corrected it. The phone call went a long way with me and we will continue to dine with Olive Garden Do NOT eat here!!! My husband and I had our first date at the Olive Garden in Altamonte Springs in 1995 so Olive Garden is very special to us. Several months ago we noticed that in the app it automatically adds gratuity and I contacted Olive Garden about this. Today, my husband physically put zero dollars as the tip and they still added $4.17 to my bill (since this is now the fourth time this has happened that adds up to $16 not a lot of money to some, but it adds up). Again this was a curbside order and my husband tipped the server in cash not knowing he had already been charged. I would like to add that there were things missing from our order on top of everything but the manager did not care I called the store and spoke to the service manager, Jordan, who literally could not have cared less and brushed me off. I told him I still carry the receipts from three other visits with me at all times in case I am ever near the store, I was not with my husband today, again he did not care that this had happened before. This is an ongoing issue that has been brought to Olive Garden's attention and they refuse to fix it. I asked for the general manager's name, Ken Luette (Jordan was very quick to give out this information and pass the buck to anyone else. Funny I thought he was a manager) which I plan on contacting tomorrow when he gets in at 9 AM. After my phone call with Jordan when I finally sat down to eat, the food was awful. It just figures, but it was probably the worst we have had. The pasta sauce tastes like I am eating straight ketchup, and the breadsticks could be back up weapons because they were that hard. Since the pandemic, a lot of restaurants have gone downhill and I'm very sad to say that apparently Olive Garden is deciding to stay at the bottom of that hill. Unfortunately for Jordan and Olive Garden, the pandemic is over and so are the excuses. I have recently left five star reviews for two separate Ruby Tuesday's locations because they have stepped up their menu, the portion size, and the flavor. I would recommend checking Ruby Tuesdays out instead join their program and there are always coupons and rewards. I would like to point out that Olive Garden offers none of that and I never find coupons for Olive Garden. EVER! I am disabled and my husband frequently picks up dinner on the way home because he works over an hour away and it gets too late to cook. Obviously Olive Garden plans on only making things difficult on its patrons rather than better. This review breaks my heart since again my husband and I had our first date at the Altamonte Springs location on July 28, 1995 when it was still decorated in the old style Olive Garden. I had a friend that worked at that location so my family frequented it Throughout the late 80s and early 90s I really wish Olive Garden would go back to their old ways when they cared. Newer location so clean and fresh inside. We were seated in the bar area and the server was prompt and very friendly. We placed our order and the salad came out almost immediately with our fresh/hot bread sticks. We had just finished our salads when our entrees arrived (kids buttered pasta and eggplant Parmesan). I was really in the mood for the mushroom ravioli, but that was not currently on the menu. The food was hot and cooked as ordered/expected. I did order a coffee at the end of the meal and it was luke warm. I needed the caffeine and enjoyed the flavors, but it could have been warmer. Service overall was more then we typically see at an Olive Garden so looking forward to coming back again and hopefully to the full menu when times improve with the pandemic. I normally don't like going to franchise type restaurants but I must admit I like Olive Garden. This restaurant like all others serve you an amazing salad, which normally I just have a few bites but for some reason or another I keep going back for more. Secondly what is Olive Garden without the breadsticks? I can just continue to have one basket after another of these warm breadsticks. For the entrees we had the classic lasagna and the 5 cheese baked ziti. Both of these dishes were cooked expertly. I love lasagna and often order it wherever I can and this one did not disappoint. For dessert we shared a tiramisu which was delicious. Ultimately the reason for the 5 stars is because the service was excellent. I love Olive Garden! I usually just stick with the shrimp or chicken fettuccine Alfredo because it is BOMB. The breadsticks are amazingggg and you have to get alfredo dipping sauce for them because it is the best thing ever. I usually get the house salad with as my option with my meal. My only gripe with them is that there is always minimal sauce in the pasta and it doesn't fully coat the pasta in the bowl. I like my pastas super saucy. My boyfriend had the spaghetti with Italian sausage and he didn't like his meal at all. He agreed that the Alfredo was the best thing ever. I understand having difficultly with staffing. The place was relatively empty for a Saturday noon-hour. The hostess was going to seat us in an alcove right next to people with children. I don't mind sitting by kids, but not when there are three other tables in that alcove available--or most every booth/table in the restaurant. She did give us another table in the alcove. Our waitress's apron was filthy which wasn't very appealing. Then the chilled plate was dirty. The good news is the soup was hot and tasty, the salad was fresh, and the waitress brought us drink refills without us having to ask. read more

It took a really long time for us to get seated at an early lunch on a weekday when most of the restaurant was empty and there were 4-5 servers + the host hanging around up front. Yep, bad start. Hostess at the door was very pleasant, she greeted us immediately and took our mobile number to text us when the table was ready. Waitress was very professional, quick to take our order and attentive to our needs. She offered a refill of the breadstick, which we appreciated. Salad served in huge bowl, fresh and I got 2 types of soups: Pasta e Fagioli and Minestone. Funny that they both tasted similar even one with meats, one without, maybe they both had beans and tomato. He's our nameless hero with a name, a legend in the making, and he has the accent so good it would make you shake to your very core.
