This is one of my favorite places. I think its the five flavor crispy shrimp that is a-mazing.

Been going since I was a kid with my parents so my view is biased, but they're the only place I go for Chinese fod in the area!

Had lunch at Chengs today and as always was quite satisfied. the roast pork egg foo yung was very good....my friend had the boneless spare ribs and he gave them a "thumbs up". their egg drop soup always comes out a little too hot but is extremely delicious. the prices at lunch especially are downright cheap. pleasant place inside....delicious food....friendly prompt service. perfect Chinese restaurant. read more

Lo Mein is awesome food, I ate every time when I got there. there is a good environment. Also, scorpian bowl is my best drink.

Won't order Chinese from any other place, for 15+ years now. Food is always hot and delicious. My favorites are: General Tso's chicken, pork fried rice, beef teriyaki skewers, and chicken fingers. Highly recommend. read more

Place is awesome if you choose to eat there however the luncheon orders are small in comparison to eat in and if you don't ask for extra duck sauce you only get 1 packet. Small meal and 1 packet of duck sauce equals 1 star. They have cheapened out on the take out size. Go to Main Kitchen instead if you want take out. read more

Pretty typical Chinese food...got shrimp lo mein, not too greasy, egg rolls and rice not bad either. Although my daughter got sweet and sour Chicken, it was awful..inedible, for both of us. The problem was in the deep frying. The oil was obviously not even close to hot enuff, so it made the chicken into little oily sponges that filled your mouth with greasy nastiness when chewed upon. Yuck! We also got crab Rangoon and steamed dumplings..the crab Rangoon were actually really good! They tasted like...crab! Imagine that...not overly sweet like crab Rangoon usually is. Very pleasant taste. Also the dumplings were good as well...lots of flavor. Though I was hoping for some spring onion in the dipping sauce. read more

Decent Chinese food...... Considering the lunch special was 5.95, I wasn't disappointed. It's not the best I've ever had, but it wasn't bad either... Definitely meet my expectations for something quick and cheap. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan. I'm used to it normally having a mix of vegetables - it was mostly mushrooms, but since I like mushrooms, that was ok. I've eaten in and taken out many times and truly enjoyed each meal. The restaurant is clean, tastefully decorated and the staff is quite friendly. Take out is always 20 minutes!! I've NEVER had the MSG headache the next day. Another restaurant with similar type food is closer, but I choose this one for takeout. read more

When me and my mom are in the mood for Chinese take out style food, this is our go-to place. They have a variety of options, and have never gotten our order wrong. The place is usually pretty quiet, so dining in is a pleasant experience (though their children are usually playing in the corner, which doesn't bother us, but could bother some other folks). The most disgusting meal I've ever eaten. I would give it less than one-star but one was the minimum I could choose. The chicken tastes like actual rubber, how dare they even call it chicken. Also had a piece of chicken on my plate that was completely brownish-black when I cut into it. Absolutely horrifying. I used to like this place but today that all changed. Me and my fiance went in there and we asked for drinks, 20 mins later we got our food and no drinks and when we asked about it the waitress simply said the girl is refusing to make them so I cancelled the order. Excuse me What? We couldn't believe what we were hearing. What restaurant stays open but refused to serve customers?? We were not offered anything else better yet were not asked if there was anything they could do. Manager never came out and apologized or anything. We paid for our meal and left. No top tip for u!! I have been here at least 5 times during my residence in Enfield for dinner takeout. I wanted to give them a higher rating, however, the other night the quality of our dish brought back memories of not so great previous dishes. I ordered the shrimp and chicken. there was very, very tiny pieces of chicken and maybe 2-3 baby shrimp and a whole lot of ZUCCHINI! What in the heck! This is Chinese American not Italian American. More ZUCCHINI then anything! Also in the past we have ordered crab Rangoon and it was pretty much empty rangoons. Where was the cream cheese and crab? Probably won't be returning again in the future as I think they are cutting the meat in their dishes drastically to basically raise prices. Not with the additional 7.35 percent tax added! Just raise your prices and provide the appropriate amount of meat please. Probably will have to go over the border for better value on Chinese. The staff is friendly and the service fast. But quality for the money is not great. The quality of some dishes has been much better. Quality is definitely sorely uneven. read more

Chengs Garden used to be a wonderful restaurant when it was owned by the Parents. Now that the younger generation has taken over, the portions have been cut in half. Most Authentic Chinese Restaurant in Enfield, CT. I had a great experience dining here. Quiet and Warm atmoshpere, the waitress provided me the Fried Noodle with Duck Sauce the mintues I sat down. Great service. I ordered the Appetizer Chicken Finger and Combo Boneless Spare Ribs with Fried Rice, it was delicious. Unlike other Chinese Restaurants I been to, where they put the sauce on top of the rib to make it sweet, Cheng's Garden put no sauce on the Ribs, instead, the sauce was inside the ribs, so tasty. very well Done. The Chicken Finger was fried to almost perfection. Definity will go back to try other foods, great experience. 100% recommended for anyone enjoy Chinese Food. read more

I have called this restaurant to put an order and the person that answered the phone was not friendly at all. Their website specifies that (which is where I got their phone number from) any order over $30 would have a free order of chicken fingers or roast pork fries rice. After I have placed my order of $35 I have asked for the free rice, I was told that it was an old coupon. I told the lady on the phone that it was not a coupon but their website that has specified it, I was put on hold and handed over to another person and then they said they had to call their manager which was off today. Spending about 15 worthless minutes on the phone (by now it was just for us to see what they were going to come up with) I was told that it was done by the old owner and they do not accept that offer. Mind you that $3.00 worth of food is not something I was going for at this moment. I have kindly told them that they have lost a customer that could have ordered once a week. Such a shame. Their service at the restaurant was awful and I just found out the take out service is not any better. read more

I can't speak for anybody else and their experience but think this place is above average for the Enfield area anyway. I've been there more than once and have had exceptional meals everytime. Even down to fresh fortune cookies. My Chinese take out joint of choice. read more

I've been here about six or seven times, mostly dine-in. The food's very good and the service is excellent. Today I ordered take-out. I ordered from their take-out menu, Lunch Specials. I even said the # and then the name. I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan, and because it says it comes with egg roll, rice and soup, I specified which soup I wanted. I ended up paying extra $1.95 for the soup although it's supposed to be included! I also ended up with Chicken with Assorted Veggies as the meal. It was the only take-out bag sitting there and the receipt stapled to it was correct for what I ordered, although it does show the soup costing $1.95. So, I'm not clear if at some point they changed to a new takeout menu which doesn't include soup in the Lunch Specials? I dined in just last week and it WAS included. In addition to being the wrong dish, it also seemed to be a small portion; it didn't fill it's side of the container. It was plenty enough anyway, and I had leftovers but it looked a little odd only being about 1/2 way up the container. read more

Wouldn't go back there again , ginger chicken with green beans . There was absolutely no ginger flavor at all , a pile of green beans and hardly any chicken in a salty brown sauce . I had to ask for something to drink, the service was awful with only two other tables being served . No one asked if everything was ok or do you need anything else . My water glass sat empty while the waitresses talked among themselves in the corner . My recomendation, stay away from this place unless you like being disappointed! read more

I've been here twice. Both times I ate at the restaurant. The food was exceptional both times (5/5). I'd like to try the takeout, but it's not really all that close. As for the decor, it could be better (2/5)... The service was nothing special either (2/5). As for portion size (2/5), it's not your typical Chinese restaurant. I received one spoonful of rice on my plate when I ordered a combination meal. I was shocked at that as most places will give you enough rice to fill a third of the plate. I'd like to give this place 3 stars overall, but the food really did taste good, so I'll give it 4. Not sure why others have had problems with the food itself, maybe I just have to go there more often to experience that. read more

My sister and I dined today and ordered the lunch combo. She was misinformed about soup having meat, she is vegetarian. When we asked if we could have the soup packaged to take home we were told no because the soup was free with meal. When ordering and paying for a combo we should be able to take home what we don't finish since it wasn't a buffet, Waitress coped an attitude and NEVER returned to table to see how our meal was or see if our drinks needed refilling. The staff was not pleasant nor did they seem phased that we were not satisfied. I won't be giving my business this restaurant again. read more

First and last visit...walked in, waited with a bunch of customers, finally had to ask one of the three people at the desk if this was a take out line or dining-in line. They apologized, said thier computer crashed and then seated us. Took our order right away but we waited a very long time for the food. People that came in after us were eating dinner way before ours arrived. She brought my meal and asked if there was anything else. I said, yes, my wife's meal. Then they brought her meal with white rice instead of pork fried rice. Her General chicken was hard and crunchy. The sweet and sour and duck sauces looked like they were watered down and came in the smallest saucerl ever made. Some of the waitresses were hard to understand. One in particular needed a personality adjustment. They were all running back and forth like there was a fire in the kitchen several times. They were clearly unorganized and couldn't handle the small crowd. One of the staff's children was running around the dining room. Overall the food was greasy. It was also greasy at 2 A.M. when it woke me up from a sound sleep. I will never go back there again. It's back to the old Hu Ke Lau in Longmeadow. They are going downhill also but they are still better than this place. read more

Horrible customer service i order some food one of witch was sweet an sour chicken an when my food showed up i had gotten chicken fingers with sweet an sour dipping sauce. If i wanted chicken fingers i would have ordered them. An when i called they tried to tell me that that is what sweet an sour chicken is. So i told them ok if u dont know your own cuisine then i want my money back. They said bring the food in for a full reimbursement. I paid $35. An brought my food back an the only gave me $20 back cuz they steak container was open. An they said food was eaten but not a grain of rice was even eaten. An they said u never eat food here again we not open for your kind..... Really what kind am i a paying costumer that wanted what i ordered yes thats correct but they wont be getting my money after they took the chicken fingers from my order i returned an they put it in another delivery order to be sent out.... Really to cheap to make your paying costumers new ones.... Someone need to shut them down gross establishment read more
