One of the best indian cuisine. You must definitely try there Masala Dosa and Butter chicken Masala.

It was a Tuesday evening and I checked in for some dinner. There was about a 6 min wait so this was good to be seated right away. The waitress was very nice but EXTREMELY under staffed as she was the only server but there was only 7 table full at this time so it was doable for her she was not the issue as she handled it with ease. We got seated and asked for water and a Lassi to drink, we got handed a bottle of water from think Costco label which was odd for a sit down restaurant I felt. We never got the Lassi, in fact after our order placed no one came back to check on us, we waiting 45 min and then asked just to get our order to go as we ran out of time. Other tables got served before us that came after us. Even after we asked for to go another 15 minutes and no one even told us if this was an option or not. Here we go! Indian Buffet on Bell and I-17 I have to give 5 stars for the variety of food they have in Buffet! To me it felt like they cooked the entire menu on buffet! North Indian and South Indian! Spices level! Now i can do spice level of 5 out of 10 but most of these dishes were 6-7 so watch out if you can't take spices then this is not the place! Service of topping up the buffet was slow so I will take out a point from there! Was waiting for Naan Bread for a while! Noise level was pretty high as it is an open hall! Enjoy! read more

We were so disappointed with this place. The food was just flat out terrible. The naan was the worst naan I've ever had by a mile. We had a couple of different chicken dishes and a paneer dish. Tried the restaurant after new management took over. It was filthy and all left overs from lunch buffet had not been cleaned up on tables before the evening dinner even started. The Sugar cane machine was so dirty and if they won't follow hygiene, it's not going to be possible to run well. The buffet was not that great and biryani was dry as hell. We have been coming to Chennai Chettinad every so often for the past year or so and I think the quality and consistency of the food has really declined. On some visits, we have had dishes arrive fresh and tasting really good. On the next visit, the same dish might come lukewarm, with no salt, and tasting like it was made a few days ago. Service will vary too - sometimes the silver and cups are dirty and we need new ones. Sometimes the server is friendly and attentive - on other days, we almost have to go find them ourselves when we need the check. When it's a good day, I really like the yellow dal and vegetable korma. I'm not a huge fan of the chicken here, because they use a lot of dark meat, so I tend to stay vegetarian when at Chennai Chettinad. I come here because the food is not bad and my coworkers like the place still, but between the inconsistent food and terrible service, I wouldn't recommmend it unless you live very close nearby. read more

I fear giving any buffet four stars because we all know that any buffet can differ by the hour with food drying up or pans staying empty for long periods of time and God only knows what else. This place smells very fragrant when you walk in but I found it a little strange but ok. We were seated and we waited for someone to greet us and after a while the gentleman that sat us just tells us to go help ourselves at the buffet because it's a buffet. Most of the food I tried was tasty. Nothing was too salty or too oily. All the chicken I tried was moist and tasty and even the fish was fresh enough so I could eat it. Currently a grade "A" Maricopa inspection is posted. The buffet line started with a savory donut that seemed fresh made and wasn't oily at all. Next came a few vegetable soups. I thought the rasam (tamarind based) one had much more flavor than the sambar but both soups were very light with vegetables. The rice dishes were made from long grain rice and were very fluffy. They had dum aloo (baby potato curry), channa palgk (spinach & chickpeas), Fresh plain naan bread, They offered 5 meat dishes and one egg dish and offered three desserts and some beverages. I found that many of the vegetable dishes ran spicier than the meat dishes. Most tasted good to me. I didn't care for two dishes that I tried due to they were just too foreign to me and they might not really be bad but dhal tadka looked fun but lentil dumplings in yogurt I couldn't get down and the upma vegetarian dish looked like potatoes to me but it was porridge with vegetables that I also couldn't get down. 2 of the three desserts were interesting. The gulab jamun was like tiny donuts that were soaked in something fragrant and sweet and the halwa was a vegetable packed carrot pudding. Compared to other buffets I've been this one is a smaller buffet but it seemed well taken care of on my visit and plates were cleared quickly. It was almost like a trip to India but with much better traffic and it only cost $13.99 for the Sunday Buffet. read more

Horrible service and food. First we had to wait for our waiter to acknowledge us and come take our order. Secondly, once the few dosas ordered came, I had to wait another 25-30 mins for mine. At this point- the rest of my family had been done eating for quite some time. I asked repeatedly why my order was not out yet and they kept telling me it was coming and took longer because they ran out of masala. I kept hearing it would be out in 5 mins and when I said I would just cancel my order and pay so we could leave, they finally brought it out. This was over an hour of waiting for my dosa. Not worth a buffet for $20. it's not the quality what we used to havevyear before .. we went on Friday for a buffet. the quality of the food is really bad..mutton briyani was very salty.. mushroom pepper fry is very oilly..mutton gravy is oily and tasteless. meat in the briyani and gravy taste old..got some old meat taste. I even mentioned that to the manager.. but he did not take any step.. he still serving every customer.. The place has some really authentic Indian cuisines. They really are pro when it comes to mutton dishes especially their mutton masala rocks. Along with food their service is top notch. They cater to your needs for spice levels and also can handle your emergency to go orders. read more

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but please do go, open the doors and go in! The seating area is a large, clean space, tastefully decorated and comfortable. As you enter, you'll be greeted by the amazing aroma of great curry. There are a plethora of options on the menu, from samosa, dosa, goat and lamb curry, to matar paneer and many other vegetarian options. The chai is delightful. Don't forget to get a Mango lassi! Last Night I went to Dine with my friend, they took the order but gave horrible chicken and horrible Biryani. Whatever is left out in lunch buffet is what they serve in the night. Chettinaad Chicken Curry should be pepper based, but it was lunch buffet's tandoori chicken dipped in onion and tomato sauce which was ridiculous and the chef came out and could not answer a single question. Biryani was dark brown in color and I am sure it was someone's leftover for sure. Phoenix folks be very careful, in the night what you get is the leftover of lunch buffet and nothing else. I visit this place about once a month with coworkers for its buffet. As Indian buffets go, this is one of the better options in the valley. Know what you are going for though - lots of food with lots of options. Like most buffets, you don't necessarily go for the optimal quality. So they usually have about 3-5 different curries, naans galore, some appetizers, fruit/salad, biryanis, and some desserts (usually gulab jaman and maybe some sort of custard). Are you going to find very spicy, very flavorful, right out of the oven or tandoori style Indian food here? No, but you will find a lot of options of tasty Indian food that is moderately spiced for a very affordable price. The atmosphere is nice here and the restrooms are very clean. All in all, this is the best Indian buffet I've been able to find in the north side of town. With options for everybody. I will continue to come back. read more

Hands down, the best Indian restaurant in The Valley. All their dishes are made from scratch in their kitchen every day with fresh ingredients. I specially like the South Indian selections. The Parotha is made from scratch, and comes to the table sizzling hot and crispy. Whenever I get a chance I stop here for an authentic Indian meal. read more

Really bad experience. I don't know whether day time service is better but evening they have shortage of staff who are struggling to keep up with the customers. So lots of waiting time even to get seated. Then waiting time to get the menu. Then waiting time to take orders. Then waiting time to get food. Food was totally bland.
