This is the worst Chinese food that I have ever tasted. I ordered the General Tao and the chicken was over cooked and didn't taste like any General Tao that I had ever tasted. Chen's Garden this was the very worst experiences that I have ever had me and some friends went to the restaurant tonight first thing we told the waitress separate bills they screwed that up then they had a problem separating the bill the food was not no good the fish I had was cold my friend had to ask for a refill on their drink and then I had to ask egg rolls I know they close their doors at nine o'clock however we walked in the door at 7:38 p.m. in day was already breaking down buffet and they close down the Mongolian cooking they were vacuuming the floors on one section of the restaurant they were sweeping the floors and moving the rugs while I was still eating at this moment I will never patronize this restaurant again it seems like their lunch buffet is better than their dinner buffet because at lunchtime there is people that speaks English read more

They didn't do any updates so their carpet is super dirty, the booths are in need of repair and the girl seating people had animal hair on her sweatshirt. The buffet is always picked over and practically crusty. Nothing looked appetizing. Staff is not friendly and the restaurant is always gross. My mother accidentally left her phone there and when we went back they including management kept lying to us saying they don't have it even though we tracked it back to the restaurant. We eat at Chen's fairly regularly. I have never seen it dirty, nor have I ever seen the buffet picked over. We go on Fridays or Saturdays normally, so we can get salmon and crystal shrimp which are both good. We have never ordered off the menu here, so we have no frame of reference on that; however, the food we've had is good, the buffet is always being replenished when we are there. I've heard of too many people (close friends, not just acquaintances) finding things in there food that should not be there. My boyfriend, sister and I have all been here many times. The last few times have been...less than pleasant. We have gotten sick twice. Some of the food is decent, but there isn't a ton to choose from and from what I've seen, the Mongolian stir fry is gone. The prices aren't too bad. Let's start off with the food is decent most of for time. HOWEVER, I've heard some stories and figured it was just people that were making stuff up. One time I went they carried multiple tables cups together in their hands, the cups touching at the top, where you drink from! Also, no mask on when it was mandated. I didn't drink anymore that day. I got a craving to go again and thought I'd give it one more chance. Still no masks but carried cups separately. I have the vaccine so not overly worried about masks. When my boyfriend's sister in law was scooping up shrimp, there was a long hair tangled into it, nasty!!! I then noticed no one was wearing hair nets. Before she found the hair I ate a normal serving plate and some ice cream. I noticed the crab Rangoon smelled a little off and the spring roll my boyfriend was eating smelled bad. On my way to the car I nearly threw up several times, felt awful for the rest of the night and still today. My boyfriend's brother also felt sick at the end of the meal. Stomach cramps. Today is much worse.. Never going back. On a side note, many chairs are broken and holes in the booths.. Bus boy didn't wipe the tables. Just swiped stuff into the tub and moved along. read more

This buffet was quantity but not quality. The food seemed to have been sitting there a bit too long. The host that greeted us took our drink order at the door before we were even seated and forgot to get silverware or tell us to follow her to our seats. We were a bit confused by her behavior. Had the pleasure of eating at Chen's last week and I can't quite understand Barking B's review. The Mongolian bar was completely stocked with fresh veggies and meats and there were plenty of varied, tempting choices on the buffet (including my personal favorite Egg Foo Young, which was fresh and plump full of veggies al dente). The sushi offerings were beautifully displayed and equally as tasty. The restaurant was clean, the Mongolian grill was spotless, and our server was pleasant and quite efficient. Visiting from out of town, ordered takeout on our last night here. Thought it would be decent because of most of the reviews. The drive from my parents's house into town is 30+ min, came home to find there was NO rice included for SIX dinner portions! Called and spoke to a manger who offered a minimal refund. Instead I asked that he have someone meet us half way and bring the rice, which he agreed to. Get home again, one rice short! Not to mention the portion size of the rice (about one cup) compared to ridiculously large dinner portion. Called and spoke to manager again; he offered $5. I said no thank you, we wasted triple that amount in gas, and that I would just leave an honest review. He wasn't rude, he was apologetic, but messing up the order twice and our wasted time and gas is unacceptable. He did finally offer a free meal the next time we were in town, but even if we weren't heading back home tomorrow, I would not want it. Besides the order being wrong, the food was not very good at all. The chicken is giant clumps of mostly breading, almost all of the dishes were prepared exactly the same way and sauce added afterwards. My garlic chicken was the only dish not deep-fried and was a weird color and texture. The rice that we waited so long for was dry and bland. It seems that most of their reviews rave over the buffet; I value quality over quantity and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

During my visit, it was hot in this place! Either heater was broken or someone was cold! The hostess seated us, got our drinks, and then never checked on us again. When we tried to get her attention she made sure to start talking to other customers closer to where she was or turned her head. We did finally attract her attention once during the visit, to refill our drinks. The tea there is really good, I have to say. The buffet had a lot of choices and the food was tasty. I wish they would clean after each customer better than they do, but I also wish customers wouldn't just make a mess for the next person to sit at either. The rest room was awful. They have two stalls and every time I have been, one of the toilets isn't working. This time one of the customers used the plunger to fix the other toilet for others to use, thank you to that person. I was appalled and embarrassed at the behavior of the 2 young ladies (I use the term loosely) at the register when I went to cash out. Very raciest and rude at their own staff. Treating our waitress like a dog! Our waitress, a very polite Asian lady whom barely spoke & understands English, went above and beyond to help my daughter, 3 Year old grandson and myself. I apologized to our waitress for their behavior & expressed our gratitude with a very generous tip! It's a shame because we EXTREMELY loved the food and waitress service we received! I thought of not returning but it's not her fault at their behavior. Upon leaving I advised the ladies of my dislike of their behavior. Last time there got severe nausea, chills/sweats, stomach cramping, the whole nine yards. It either was the oysters/clams on a half-shell or the seafood that sits out next to the grill. Have been a regular customer here since it's opening, Last visited on Mar 12, 2013 and It probably will be my last. The last 2 or 3 time here the place has gone down hill, from the hostess's BAD attitude to the disgusting dirty dishes and the COLD food. The lunch buffet is the best in Mountain Home Arkansas. My sister likes the unique coconut chicken and I crave the unique vegetable egg foo young.
