Stopped here on the way home from Chicago last weekend. It was quick and convenient. I had the sesame chicken and ordered lo mein with it, instead of the white rice it comes with. The chicken and lo mein both had really good flavor, the sesame chicken was very sweet. read more

Chinese New Year this week so supporting my favorite family run Chinese carry out. Chen's Wok is a short drive to Whitestown. The staff is super friendly. We call our order in and by the time we get there, the food is ready, accurate and piping hot. The staff recognizes us from visit to visit. Today we ordered from the lunch menu priced at $5.99 per meal which includes selection of popular entrees, choice of soup or egg roll and a fortune cookie. The Sweet and Sour Chicken came with the sauce on the side. The puffy breading was light and tasty. The portions were huge - enough to share. The egg roll was just ok. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp with Hot and Sour soup. The soup was spicy and delicious with slices of mushroom and tofu. The Kung Pao Shrimp was also delicious with about 8 juicy shrimp, fresh bell pepper, water chestnuts and lots of peanuts. Both entrees included tasty fried rice with peas and carrots. The bag also included selection of sauce packets, napkins and fortune cookies. What a great deal and so delicious. In the evenings, we always order the family meals and they allow you to substitute entrees. The food is always good. Staff and patrons wearing masks. We were there early to pick up. We'll be back. I am very lucky that Chen's Wok is my local Chinese spot! I've only had takeout from here but my gosh it's so good. The portions are are hefty, they're always quick and it's reasonably priced. Chen's Wok is always friendly and because of that I leave a little tip even though I don't have to. Who ever is working the register appreciates the love. I highly recommend Chen's Wok!! Great service and they serve nice size portions. We are able to get at least 4 more meals out of an original order.

My sister and I decided to get Chen's Wok last week and it was such a great decision. We called ahead and ordered carry-out. We called and they said it would be about 20-25mins. We arrived 20 minutes later and it was ready to eat! Walking in they are still adhering to all COVID precautions which is great to see! I paid and walked right out with my food - took all of 3 minutes! My sister and I ordered quite the smorgasbord from here and we were not disappointed at all. We got an order of Vegetable Low Mein, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken which came with White Rice and an order of Crab Rangoons. We both shared everything and it was all very good. The food was warm, the noodles were soft and their was a distinct difference in taste between the two types of chicken -- I think sometimes at other places they can run too close together. I think that the amount of food that we got for the price we paid was pretty equal. ALSO 6 Crab Rangoons come in an order. I will definitely be going back here again as you get a lot of food, it's very good and fairly priced! read more

We were so thrilled a few years ago when Chen's Wok opened and gave us a new option for Chinese food. I'm very surprised that not all of the reviews are glowing as we've always had an excellent experience and holy cow- they are FAST! Their menu calls tofu "bean curd" which was a little confusing, but it turns out to be my favorite protein there! Family restaurant. Standard Chinese takeout. It's consistent and what you'd expect. One thing we like in particular is the Crab Rangoon. It's less sweet and more savory than other places - one little bit of uniqueness here. They're good. No delivery. There's a table or two, but not really space for dine-in. If you're looking for "regular" Chinese take out in Zionsville/Whitestown, Chen's Wok is a decent place to try. read more

This place is a great place to go to for lunch! They have a ton of lunch specials to chose from and the are only $6.95 and you get a ton of food! I got the General Tso's chicken and the hot and sour soup! The entrée was steaming hot and the soup was as well! You could tell that it was freshly made and had not been sitting around. The flavor was so good and it was well worth it. Everyone with me took leftovers home because there was so much food! I also tried one of the crab ragoons and those were amazing as well! My SO and I have picked up food from Chen's Wok multiple times, solely because of the closeness to our home. We both enjoy beef fried rice and find it's a safe option for whenever we try a new Chinese restaurant. He claims it tells him everything he needs to know about the place! Last week they got my soup order wrong. Sent me two Wonton soups instead of egg drop which is what I ordered. This week I walk in the lady starts taking my order and her phone rings and she leaves me standing while she takes a phone order. I told her the customer in front of her should take priority over the phone. You simple say can you hold please! That's how I was taught about customer service! I left and will not return. Hot, quick, and consistent. I love the shrimp egg rolls and Mongolian chicken, the portions are huge so I usually eat the leftovers all weekend. The egg drop and wonton soups are pretty solid as well. If you're a crab rangoon snob like I am, they serve the sweet, cream cheese style ones with the four corner wrapper and not the gross savory triangle ones. Update, stopped by today with my husband and ordered the Mongolian Beef. It. Was. Burnt. I told the lady and she said that is how it is supposed to be... spicy. I explained that it was not the spice, it was burnt... it tasted like ash. My husband tasted it and agreed it was burnt. They serve you very quickly, It's not the best Chinese food I've ever had but I find it enjoyable for the price. I always get a large enough portion that I have leftovers for lunch the next day. Probably one of my favorite hole in the wall Chinese places around. Everything here tastes like there is a little more thought and effort put into the food. For example, many Chinese places make their potstickers/dumplings simply by buying a back of frozen potstickers. These are handmade and pan fried so they are not soaked in oil. The fried rice here is exactly to my liking. The best thing about it is they don't keep you waiting when you come in to pick up your order. It's ready every time.
