We got delivery. The food was pretty good. My only complaint is that the menu said the entrees would come with pork fried rice and an egg roll--i did not order fried rice separately for that reason--but this was not the case. Two of three entrees came with white rice and there were no fried rice or egg rolls. I would encourage the restaurant to clarify the menu. I found a GREAT replacement for my once favorite Chinese restaurant! The dine-in area is a bit larger than most. I normally order pork egg foo young but decided on the chicken egg foo young combo instead. I'm glad I did!!The patties were made with a WHOLE CHICKEN BREAST OMG! The gravy was just the right texture and it was delicious! Served with fried rice which was also delicious with one of the best egg rolls I've had in a long time. I decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. The cashier was friendly while taking my order. It wasn't crowded so the wait for my order to come up was short. The place is small, but brightly decorated with a few tables for dining. I opted for the GTC combination(fried rice and egg roll). The portion size was good, and the meal was flavorful. Order carry out and when I got home saw that they forgot my white rice also received a a very small one oz container of there orange/sweet sauce which normally they give me a larger container, especially when I ordered 2 egg rolls, pot stickers, crab Rangoon. Arron said that is what he normally gives me when I said that's not true this is why I'm telling you. Also ordered four seasons and I always get my shrimp plain where as this time it had a gummy coating on them which was really nasty. Again Arron said it is how they are always made. What it is, however, is a very sweet, very fast Chinese restaurant that serves large quantifies of deliciously saucified dishes such as bean curd with garlic sauce and vegetable lo mein, as well as incredibly soft and fluffy white rice. This was a different version than I am used too due to the difference in ingredients. More lettuce, cabbage based but still with tofu and bean sprouts. It did have some heat to it. Fried Rice was a yellow curry rice with smoky BBQ pork chunks and some vegetables. It was served hot and was fried in the wok with a touch of greasiness from the wok oil. General Tsao Chicken was a huge portion with a pile of saucy goop on top. It was a mix of white and dark meat. I am used a dry version with little sauce where this was a thicker batter with a more sticky thick sauce with heat in it from the 3 red peppers. Fresh broccoli florets for colour and nutrients. So what does all this tell me? Its made from scratch and not out of a can or the freezer. The chef makes it the way he was taught by his mother or mentor and that can only mean that you got to enjoy a home cooked chinese meal in someones home. I had wrote a review here previously, but it needed updating. I needed Chinese and this was the only place with the ability to order online which I needed because I lost my voice. I got a phone call and was told to open the door for my food, which was weird because I hadn't heard a knock and the door to my apartment building isn't locked. I walk out and nobody is there. Then in rushes a man who hands me my food and started basically yelling at me to not order online. Then he left. Why bother having an online option if you don't want food ordered online??? I decided to just go for it, reading about this restaurant's authenticity. I hate American Chinese food for the most part, even when it's done well, so, when I get Chinese, I want good, real Chinese. No goopy sweet and sour, no fictitious military figures, no low-quality fried chicken, just real Chinese. For a such a hole in the wall, this place has a very extensive menu. In addition to the 15 or so items on its lunch menu, they have another 30 or so in the regular menu. They do deliver and you can get dine-in or carry-out. The place is pretty run-down, so it's not the nicest place to eat in, but they do offer green tea (hot water + packets) for free. It's obviously a family-run place, with two or three men in the back yelling at each other in Mandarin, handling flaming woks, and a soft-spoken woman at the front translating the order specifics. They have roast pork, which is a huge plus, and possibly the best egg rolls in the city. The dishes are served with fresh (not frozen) vegetables and you can opt for fried or white rice. The sauces generally offer a little bit of spice. Like most places, they use a few sauces for the large number of dishes, just to speed things up a little. What's really attractive about this place is the price: most of the lunch specials are $5 with tax, and that includes the entree, fried or white rice, and a choice of soup or egg roll. Now that's a good deal. And a lot of that American Chinese garbage is on that lunch menu, if that's what you want. But, if you're like me, and you like the Chinese to be somewhat authentic and relatively healthy, you also have plenty of options for that as well. But, overall, this is some of the better Chinese food I've had in a city with a low Chinese population. If this were in Tucson, for instance, I would have been there once a month, at least. If this were in Chicago, Toronto, LA, Seattle, or any city with a lot of very good Chinese food, then I don't know that it would stand out except for its extremely low price. Not sure about the specific hours, but they're open until at least 9. A lot of people get take out and call ahead. They do a pretty brisk business, so that looks to be a good idea. I'm curious if this is the same owner as the one with the same name on Allisonville. Have to report back on that. read more

This is one of only a very few places that will deliver to my area, so I've definitely ordered from them pretty often! The food's pretty darn good, and you get sizeable portions for the cost. I also appreciate that they have a good variety of vegetarian options. Overall, I think First Wok offers good food for a good price, but the one downside is that they are painfully slooooow with the delivery. An hour wait is not at all unusual, and anything under 45 minutes would make me fall over in shock. So, if you're ordering in, order early! read more

I ordered from here last night and it being my first time, I was honestly disappointed. The general tsos chicken & orange chicken were a huge disappointment. On menu it says they come with fried rice but we got white rice instead. Besides that, Both chicken meals didn't even taste like chicken. With every bite you could tell something was off, it was weird. My boyfriend orange chicken made him get a stomach ache & he ended up throwing up from it.... the whole meal was just off and we ended up throwing away the whole order, having to go out again, & get something else. My husband and I have had really good luck with First Wok II--until tonight. Our order took 25 minutes longer than what was estimated, and when we received it, it was incorrect, and what food we did get was subpar, to say the least. They forgot my husband's order altogether, and then argued with us when we told them it was wrong. They then compromised and said they'd bring a new order of his food. It's been another hour, and we still haven't received it. I called to ask, and they couldn't have cared less about our issue. That's the last time they'll hear from us. read more
