For the past 30 years Cheo's Tacos has been more than just a taco truck. They are a cornerstone of our community and a place where food truly nourishes both the body and the soul. If you grew up in El Sereno, you already know about Cheo's Tacos, and if you don't, you're seriously missing out. I've been coming here since I was young, and this spot has NEVER disappointed. Late night dinners here just hit different. Whether you're craving tacos, burritos, or anything on the menu, everything is consistently good, fresh, and packed with flavor. My personal favorites are the asada and tripa tacos perfectly cooked every time. The asada is juicy and flavorful, and the tripa has that perfect crisp that taco lovers look for. And the salsas? Absolute fire. They take everything to another level. What I love most is that every time I leave, I'm fully satisfied. It's one of those places you keep coming back to because the quality stays solid no matter what. Hands down the best taco spot in El Sereno. If you're nearby and haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and pull up. You'll understand why locals stay loyal to this place for years.

I know people are gonna hate me when I say this but I like cost and flavor. Just get the mulitas. Tacos are good but the mulitas is where it's at. I get my tacos either west or south from here cuz the real ones know where it's at. The cheese goes well with their proteins here but kinda boring on just store-bought tortillas. They always run out of tripas, cabeza, and lengua...just take it off the menu or even a better idea, have more lol. You're not missing out much tho, maybe just the cabeza. Asada: it's good for a taco truck. Good amount of meat and flavor. The texture is alright, it's just brown and lean. They don't let the flat top sizzle it enough imo, it's like they're rushed or piled on a lot of meat at once. Why does everything else have a better sear? Good with both rojo and verde, but the guacasalsa is too bright and takes away the asada flavor. Do whatever you want, just eat. Pastor: good sear from the grill top even tho we all love the flamethrower sound. Some people don't like how sweet their marinade is but I think it's quite good. The sugar breaks down enough to impart a nice flavor with their spices. Juicy and meaty, add a bit of salt and grilled onion, you're good to go. Cabeza: really fine and chopped up, pretty tasty and goes well with all their salsa, especially with a bite of jalapeno. I like the mushiness and flavor here. Lengua: almost tastes like their cabeza also looks nearly the same. They chop it up fine unlike other places. I haven't eaten this enough to say much because they're always out.... Tripas: it's alright. I like gamey in a good way but this is chewy, with an untreated gamey taste. I always try it to see if it's better another time but just ends up the same. Can they cook it in the oil vat more and also crisp it up too?

As a resident of El Sereno, finally decided to gice this place a try. Very friendly staff. They use corn tortillas for their tacos. It is OK, has so much potential, but meat was a little bland. Best way to put it. Other than that, still is good enough. Their sauce is a game-changer, as long as you drench the tacos in the sauce, there will be no issue. Must add the sauce.

Let's start off with how I found this place. I was looking for Los Dorados because my car's gps led me to this truck. Asked the staff where the flautas place was and they directed me accordingly. On the way back I stopped by to tell them their tacos had been recommended by another customer at the flautas place and that I would be back. They just stared at me without saying anything. I figured they must not speak English so I repeated myself in Spanish. Still no response. I finally asked if they understood and I finally got a response. So yeah, I get the reviews posted re the not so stellar customer service. My rating is strictly for the food but I do agree the staff could learn to improve their social skills with customers. Now for the more important part - the food! I got 5 asada tacos to go. They will throw in 1 red salsa, 1 green salsa, and 1 guac as well as onions/cilantro. You also get some grilled onions and a grilled jalapeño. I asked for 1 extra green salsa and 1 extra guac and they had no problem booking that up. They will also give you some baggies for radishes and lemons. I was very satisfied with my tacos. For me, the guac had enough of a kick that I didn't need the extra kick of the green sauce. I'm partial to green sauce so to me the red sauce, which was spicier, was nothing special. The guac is superior to the green sauce in my opinion. The grilled onions were also perfect, had a nice sweet flavor. Parking can easily be found on the street. There was a line but I would estimate the wait was about 10 mins after placing the order. There is also an area to eat but I took my order to go. Definitely recommend this local joint. Is it better than Ave 26? No, but it will satisfy that taco craving and you won't feel like you have to redo your taco experience because this one just did not meet your expectations. So in sum, another yummy in my tummy rating and now I don't feel like my failed attempt at a good meal last Friday was all for naught since I discovered this place.

Has been coming to Cheo's Tacos for years don't even remember how many but a lot lol. Tacos Al Pastor are my favorite, and there guacamole salsa is the best today I try Mulita so good... Have try Tacos de Tripas, Asada, Lengua all good... People in the kitchen are so nice and welcoming. The lady at the register need to smile and show a better customer service she seem mad. Recommended it it's $1.85 per taco it's worth it

We've been here many times and haven't had any problems. Minor/normal waits but nothing we can't handle. But we had the worst taco truck experience ever, of all taco trucks we've been to! We waited at least 20 minutes to order, the line moved painfully slow for only 5 parties in front of us? Then another 30-40 minutes for our order?! All in all, one hour just to get 12 tacos. I don't know what the delay was but the workers were not hustling. I didn't see the urgency or rush to get out orders. The crowd of people waiting for their orders was bigger than their order line. They would call order numbers once every 3-4 minutes. Shouldn't they be calling number after number? This is not a fine dining experience. Tacos, burritos, etc should be flying off the grill easily. Right before we came to cheos, we went down 1 block to Mojica's taco truck and our order was ready in 5 minutes! We came to get tacos for a quick dinner. If it was going to take this long, we should have just dined at a restaurant. I hate to have to write this review, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm afraid to come back and have to wait even longer. We love the tacos here too but if we see a line, we're going down the street to Mojica's. It's just not worth it. read more

My family love these tacos. We don't go anywhere else. I refuse to go to any other. We enjoy the asada and pastor tacos. My kids lobe the asada quesadilla. It's a must try. I also love that they take time off during the holidays. Good for them! read more

Omg the best tacos in the Alhambra/ El Sereno area. Located at the coroner of Alhambra Ave. & Bullard Ave. if you are in the area and craving tacos this is a must try. Celebrating their 25th anniversary! This is a taco truck so parking is on the neighborhood streets and sitting space is limited. Meats: asada, pastor, cabeza, lengua, pollo, tripas. My daughter always talks about this taco stand. So I decided to give it a try. The tacos were ok. But the customer service is horrible. The young lady taking the orders has such a bad attitude. I asked for a mullita and she said "we don't have cheese" not sorry or apologetic at all. I would rather go up the block and have tacos where I'm treated like a customer not like a bother. Screw this overhyped taco stand. read more

Customer Service is TRASH!! The girl taking your order is very rude and cuts you off after each item you are trying to order and snobby looks. After reading the reviews at least I know im not the only one who thought so. My family has been coming to Cheos for years and after these last few visits, forget it. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I LOVE their avocado salsa !!!! I've brought friends from LA to this hidden gem and they love it as well. Once someone mentions Cheo's, we can't shut up about it and temptation gets the best of us and we're driving all the way over here. What makes it so great is such flavorful tacos at such an affordable price ! THIS IS WHAT A TACO STAND SHOULD BE and this place sets the mf'n standard. read more

Excellent Tacos, great price, I only wish they were open every night! The lines can be long, but these tacos are worth it. The tortas, burritos, and quesadillas are also delicious. The food is a nice price for a good quality, delicious meal. We have only had the tacos and quesadillas, al pastor and carne asada are our favorites. If you live in El Sereno and Alhambra, this is THE taco truck you must go. The tacos are smaller but cheap! The meat seasoning and quality was just on point. Their salad is amazing that you will want more. They are not there on the weekdays I dont think but if you are craving for some tacos... its a must try! read more

Very happy to see Cheos Tacos back in the swing of things. That being said, I was utterly disappointed in their 'new' much smaller tacos. The meat is the same. Very tasty and fresh. BUT after waiting 40 minutes and seeing several people really losing patience, it kinda ruined the experience. I know the price is going up on everything but they shouldn't charge the same AND go smaller. So if you have at least 40 minutes to spare for some delicious tiny, overpriced tacos....then this is the spot! read more

Definitely mine and my boyfriend's go-to for quick, cheap, and quality tacos, burritos, or horchata! Their salsa is beautiful and their service is quick although it does get pretty busy most days. 100% recommend if you're looking for a quality taco truck craving fix. Just a heads up, they have a small lot in front that can probably fit like, 2 or 3 cars...so street parking is pretty much the only availability most of the time. You can circle around the block and usually find street parking close by. They do accept credit/debit cards as well! read more

I honestly used to come to this truck since I was younger I always remembered the truck being one of the best ! The ladies who work here have clearly allowed the money to get to their heads because their SUPER RUDE , and this is not off of one experience I moved back to the area now going on a year and have visited the truck several time besides the bad service the food was not good at all the pastor isnt original so many taco vendor have advanced and left that pastor in the package behind them the original one w the pine at the top is so much better also their asada burrito was so gross it has no rice just beans and meat and the meat isn't great overall won't be coming back hope people start to try different taco vendors a chance especially when they don't appreciate your business somewhere . Cheos offers great food. I love the pickled cucumber & onions. The tortas & tacos are a must have! However the only reason I don't come over here as much no more is because they are extremely tight with their salsa. Therefore, I like going the next street over to Mojicas. Because, there you get however much to go. Cheos is stingy with salsa & the very little they give you is in the smaller cups. I like how Mojica offers a salsa bar & a generous amount. I would rate 5 If they were not so stingy, with salsa. If they would give more salsa to go I would have gave them at 5 stars. But it's never enough when I go home and it seems like they get bothered when I ask for extra salsa. So if you love Chile like me this ain't the place for you. Unless; you eat there then okay cus you get to squirt your own amount but if it's to go then I wouldn't bother. read more

I had Cheo's a long time ago, when I first moved into the area about 6 years ago. It wasn't good and I always wondered why the line was so long. I finally gave them another chance A month ago and I know understand. The tortilla is good, the meat is moist and flavorful, the salsas aren't as watered down. Hubby is a huge fan of their bean and cheese. It is really good. The burritos and tortas leave much to be desired, but their tacos are soo good. read more

Great little spot for tacos. Can't go wrong with carne asada tacos here. Bring cash, last time I came it was cash only. Parking can be a little tough so you may have to park up the street on Bullard. FYI tortas come with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole. read more

Discovered this place on postmates and have been back at least once a week. The Al pastor is bomb. And they are very kind to throw in some grilled onions and peppers on the side. With extra sauces. I see the lines been getting longer and longer though. I hope this won't change the food or service. read more

If I can give it zero stars I would. The lady taking the order makes you not enjoy the food because of how much attitude she gives . If you can avoid this place do so cause all your going to get is a bitch as lady with an attitude and fucked up facial expressions, not to mention she rolls her eyes when you ask for extra sauce or napkins. Then the owner Cheo making the tacos doesn't even care when you bring it up to his attention. read more

I've had tacos & burritos from this spot. So delicious! Only thing, they don't add rice to burritos. I love rice in my burritos but I can be without it, still good. Parking can be tricky sometimes but they're very fast so you can pull up & just park about anywhere & you'll get your food quickly & get going. They have a TV outside & place to sit & eat. They're all very friendly & prices are great! This spot is definitely a go to! read more

The real winner was honestly the salsa bar. They were individually good, and each bringing a diffident heat level and flavor. Plenty of containers and plastic bags to load up at the condiment station, but seriously double up on all the salsas.

We both heard it flying first, and he looked extremely uncomfortable and disturbed. I kept saying there were roaches, but the woman taking our order didn't acknowledge it at all. After ordering, we looked around more carefully and noticed several adult roaches around the truck. We even heard another girl on the other side scream because a roach flew at her too. On top of that, the food quality wasn't worth the price. We ordered 3 burritos and 4 tacos, and the total came out to almost $50. When we got home, 2 out of the 3 burritos were wrapped so poorly that they completely unraveled while eating. One of the people I ordered for got so frustrated they stopped eating altogether. Sadly, between the hygiene concerns, lack of response from staff, declining food quality, and high prices, I would never return.
