    Shrimp Burrito with red salsa
    Rosa R.

We usually come here for the fish tacos, which are my favorite! Tonight, we had the shrimp burrito, unfortunately, the shrimp were over cooked, one shrimp was so tough, I couldn't even chew it - not good!! The burrito had way too much rice in it!!! On a positive note, loved the red salsa and the hint of spice! STOP being skimpy/cheap when people ask for salsa, it's tacky!!!

We were in the mood for Mexican seafood and since we pass by this place often, we decided to finally check it out. We arrived a little later at night on a Saturday night and there were only a couple people ahead of us already waiting for their orders. At the time that we went, they had a cash only sign though it seems like it depends on the day (not sure what factors it), so just in case, bring some cash. We ordered the Fish Taco Combo #2 ($10.99) and the Nachos con Carne ($11.99). It was a decent wait time for our food. They have a counter on the side where you can also get some limes, pickled onions, and jalapenos. They will give you your sauces on from their side. They did forget to give us our drink for the combo when they handed us our order, so that was a bummer. Beans and rice seemed a little bit bland and could use a bit more seasoning. The tacos were pretty good though. They do have a deal on Wednesdays I believe? So it might be better to get the fish tacos on those days. The carne asada was also well seasoned and I think I liked those more than the fish tacos. It's a nice little shop for some quick Mexican food. They do have an extensive menu but honestly I'm good with just their fish tacos and carne asada, they're pretty solid. Not sure how their sushi is working out for them.

THIS WAS SO GOOD! From the service to the food, 10/10! They serve sushi, fish tacos, menudo, and other dishes you cannot find in one spot alone. Until now. This place is affordable and their tacos are HUGE!!! I mean it. For $14 for 4 tacos. I'm blown away. It was totally worth it. It was quick and warm. The tortillas were so soft and just right for the juiciness of the meat. I had their asada and Al pastor and it was DELICIOUS. Mouth watering for sure. There's space to sit down and enjoy the weather, and opportunity to take to go. But remember the food tastes better when it's fresh and warm. Definitely come visit!

Their taco Tuesday and Thursday is the best in town. Their taco is well larger than many other places. Tastes are excellent. Line can be long sometimes, but worth the wait every time.

    Menu as of 9/2025.

Tacos Ensenada is one of my favorite spots for FISH TACOS. I been to a few of their locations and the fish tacos are consistently good across the board. Am not fan of the rest of their menu, because frankly it's not that good. Stick to the fish tacos and you won't be disappointed. Location: a stand on Valley Blvd with some outside seating. Service is efficient and friendly. Good spacious parking lot. Credit and cash taken. BRING CASH, because they charge a weird fee on credit cards.

Craving some hard shell shrimp tacos, found this spot with the same name of a spot by my house. It was empty when we arrived ordered 6 shrimp tacos 28 bucks later, I received the tacos the looked very delicious they were too, but the over sauce made them so messy and mushy to eat ended up being a soggy tostada. Service was ok, not over the top and location and ambiance is good, it was getting packed but they do have plenty of seating on both sides of restaurant overall will come back but definitely try something else.

Super tasty and affordable tacos! This is my favorite spot to get fish tacos and I am always craving them. My boyfriend also introduced me to cabeza, which was very soft and flavorful. There's also complimentary peppers, onions, and lemons which can be taken to go in plastic bags or in a tray. Seating is all outside, as the store itself is just a small stall. I'd love to go back again soon!! Their menu is so big, I want to try more things

    Asada meat, pico and salsa

Authentic little shack with a few tables outside for a quick sit down eat and go. The sevice is just a walk up order window and another one for pickup. Prices are comparably average around the SGV. I went on Thursday so they have a special promo for their meat tacos (asada, pastor, chicken and carnitas) buy one for $3.39 and get the second one for free. You must order by increments of 2,4,6,8....even numbers only for the special price. My go-to-order for any first time taco spot is always two asadas and two pastors. They were good sized street tacos filled with the meat, pico de gallo and their house salsa. They also have a side cart with grilled jalapeños, sliced red onions and limes for your liking. Both marinated meats were tasty and juicy. I would definitely come back again to try some other stuff on the menu. They have menudo and sushi as options as well....very intrigued to give it a try!

Looking up 'Best carnitas in LA', and there's a good chance that 'Carnitas El Momo' will pop up in your search results list. Starting as a food truck in Boyle Heights in 2015 (which is still open), this brick-n-mortar location with indoor dining in Monterey Park opened in 2022. It ended up being a bit longer walk than I anticipated coming from the East LA Civic Center Metro station, so my brother and I were drenched in sweat on this 90+ degree day. We walked into the air conditioned uncrowded building, and were friendlily greeted, and offered a simple taco of pork burnt ends. It was good and gave us a taste of what the rest of the meal would be like. Between the two of us, we ordered a sample of each taco ($4), stuffed in a decent tortilla. The meats are available are buche (pork stomach), cueritos (pork skin), maciza (pork shoulder), and migajas (burnt ends). We also got the Mix (all the meats aptly named aPORKalypse) and also a mulitas ($12 for all the meats except stomach). Everything was ordered con todo, which meant a lot of cilantro and pickled white onion with lime wedges. I also got a large horchata ($6). There is self-serve water available near the simple salsa bar (choice of a hot green sauce, and even hotter red sauce and hot pickled peppers). All the meat is cooked in lard low and slow and seasoned according to the patriarch's (aka Momo) original receipt from Salamanca, Mexico. The slow simmering definitely was noticeable and we enjoyed the flavors. My favorite was definitely the Mix, with a nice blend of texture. I think have a crunch factor (like chicharron) would have added even more texture, but I understand that would not be authentic. Also I noted that they call buche here pork belly, which is a very different pork belly than in Far East Asian cuisine. I like buche though in moderation, and this version was very good, especially mixed with pork muscle cuts. Pork skin by itself in a taco is too much for me. I would definitely get the mulitas again, replacing the pork skin with buche, and putting on it a milder sauce than the hot ones offered...definitely need a lot of acidity to cut through the very fatty meal.

The taco had delicate corny tortillas with savory slightly Smokey flavorful a bit spicy shredded meat onions and cilantro. The mulita had some beefy carne asada, cheese, with lightly crisp corn tortillas. The birria queso taco I think used goat meat cuz it was kinda gamey, was a bit tortilla heavy, but paired really well with their super savory also a bit gamey consume and did have a decent amount of meat and cheese inside. He also gave me some salsas that all had a kick. The green one was the most mild bright and cilantroy and the red one was the most spicy. But Overall this place eh.
