I came here with a few co-workers during a week night and we had made a reservation in advance. It was bustling when we got there. We were seated by the hostess who got waters for us and then had a very friendly waitress. She was very attentive as well. We started with the dip duo and grilled artichokes. The chips that came with the dips were great and dips super flavorful and very different so it was nice to have the contrast. The artichokes were grilled deliciously. I loved the charred taste. I ordered the salmon dish. I really enjoyed the salmon and my broccoli. The mashed potatoes were not my things. Lots of leeks/onions in it. We did get a side of fries instead and those were great - they tasted just like McDonald's! I can see why this restaurant is popular. Good food and great service! read more

I spent over $50 on a to go order and it came with no napkins, no salad dressing, and no utensils. When I politely asked for a plastic fork because I was staying at a hotel, the employee, Sherry, repeatedly told me, "We don't provide that," and then kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you," instead of offering any kind of solution. The dismissive attitude was honestly worse than the missing items. Then I got back to my hotel and realized Sherry had handed me someone else's order. So after all of that, I didn't even have my own food. I ended up giving the meal to a homeless person and drove to Taco Bell instead. If your restaurant doesn't provide basic utensils or napkins with a takeout order, why are you even offering takeout? Even fast food restaurants understand that people ordering food to go might actually need a fork to eat it. This wasn't just about a missing fork. It was the complete lack of attention to detail, basic customer service, and then being handed the wrong order on top of it. For over $50, this was an unbelievably bad takeout experience. I walked in got seated immediately from a waitress with long blonde hair. She immediately asked what I wanted to drink. I said lemonade she left didn't come back for 30 minutes finally came back and I noticed my lemonade smelled a little fishy. I then proceeded to order appetizers. This is coming from decades-long loyal patrons of Cherry Creek Grille, this restaurant is now among the absolute WORST - and judging by other recent reviews, I'm not the only one who has come to this decision. This saddens us so as we have celebrated countless birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, successful cancer treatments, girls' nights, military deployments/homecomings, date nights, graduations etc. and have always had a wonderful experience. Now, I can tell you that we will **NEVER** return nor will we dine at any other Hillside establishments (of which we would also frequent in Aspen and Scottsdale). To celebrate a birthday, we decided to drive from Colorado Springs (where we live) to meet my parents for lunch at Cherry Creek Grille. We know the drill, no reservations are accepted for parties larger than 5 - but we have always been seated at the large circular booths on a walk-in basis. We checked in, we were never asked our party size, I figured because we were the only ones in the waiting area and therefore our party was pretty easy to count. There was a 45min wait - longer than we would have preferred to wait, but considering we had already drove/paid for parking and my 90-year-old father had his heart set on his favorite lunch spot, we decided to wait it out. We grabbed a drink and waited... and waited... and waited... an hour later, our table is ready! Or so we thought. We had 4 adults and two small children in our party - which is actually a smaller group than we typically dine at CCG with, but apparently a party of 6 is no longer allowed. The fact that we were not AT ANY POINT during the duration of our extremely long wait notified that our party would never actually be seated together is absolutely unacceptable. Upon pleading with the hostess that the children are small enough to sit on laps, we drove all the way, my parents made special arrangements to attend etc. we were continuously told that "this is the new policy," adding further that even a newborn baby would have been turned away. A newborn baby? Really? Anyway, we were offered two separate tables. We sit my husband and elderly father at a table for two near the restaurant entrance, and the two children, my mother and I take one of the massive circular booths near the back (which we have on SEVERAL occasions had 8 adults comfortably seated at - in fact, we did so just this past November). Miraculously, a table for two opens up immediately by our circular booth - I quickly go and ask the hostess if we can move my dad/husband to this table instead and am then informed of another "policy" that states that split parties cannot be seated anywhere near each other. I mean, what? At this point, I'm thinking the hostess is just messing with me as that is absolutely absurd. They also attempt to tell us that my husband and father cannot sit at this tiny table for two because they plan to seat a larger party there... at the table for two. Again, the incompetence is staggering. We asked to see the manager, and were told he was too busy to talk with us. This kind of service is not only absurd, it's deplorable. As the manager of this restaurant I would not only be deeply devastated to hear of loyal patrons being treated in this way, but I would be absolutely mortified of the incredibly unprofessional and irrational behavior of my staff. Might I recommend, if running a successful restaurant is the goal, implementing common sense as one of the new "policies" your staff so vehemently reference. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch recently. The restaurant itself is lovely; a bit dark and clubby, with very comfortable seating. I ordered the seared tuna salad, and my husband got a cheeseburger with a side of broccoli. The salad was tasty, but the serving size was dainty, and I was still hungry after finishing it. My husband's burger had more lettuce and other vegetables on it than meat; it was a woefully small patty, and he said it was under seasoned and bland. I took a bite and agreed. I have loved and supported the CCG for 24 years. It even holds a special place in my heart as the place where I met my husband. Sadly, my experience last night changed how I feel about dining there. While sitting with two dear friends I hadn't seen in over a year, a front desk staff member came to our table and told us we needed to order our entrees because our allotted time was coming to an end. I was embarrassed and insulted. This isn't the first time this has happened. Clearly, managing reservations is important, but fine dining should never be about making guests feel as though a clock is running on their evening. This time we had the vegan burger and some sparkling water. Even though they were very busy the servers were great and the food delicious and fresh. If I could give it higher than 5 stars, I would! My second time at Cherry Creek Grill and both visits have been fantastic. This time we had a dinner reservation and loved the warm, ambient lighting. It has such a great atmosphere. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, which always elevates the experience. We started with the grilled artichokes (soooo yummy), then I had the kale and rotisserie chicken salad while my husband ordered the French dip. Everything was delicious. As we were walking to the table, they told us we had to be out in an hour because they had reservations. This seat was a 5 top - thought you didn't take reservations for 5??!!! They rushed us through the entire meal, and to make matters worse, they cleared plates while my husband was still eating - IT WAS HIS 70TH BIRTHDAY & they knew this. To say we were treated poorly is an understatement. They never asked if we wanted a second drink; our apps were out before we even had a chance to look at the menu, and the wait staff cleared and hovered throughout the meal. Cherry Creek Grill has always been a standout and outstanding restaurant! I just love reading the whiny complaints of entitled people: they changed a menu item after 25 years, they forgot to put mayonnaise on my order, they won't let me order French fries to go, they refused us service because we were wearing tank tops... I think the reason Cherry Creek Grill is unbelievably consistent in delivering better service and food than you can get just about anywhere is because they know what does and doesn't work. And when they make an error like forgetting to put mayonnaise on an order, who cares? No one is perfect but they are as close to perfect as a restaurant could be. Giving a business a one star because of a slip up or because your unique preference wasn't met, negates the bigger picture: Cherry Creek Grill is an all around fantastic place to get a great meal served by delightful people. I so appreciate and enjoy the staff, service and always delicious food that Cherry creek delivers on again and again. Sometimes a restaurant has a bad night. That's what happened this night. We are regulars at Cherry Creek Grill. Most of the time the food and service are excellent - - most of the time. This night the macho salad contained chicken that was dry and tough and uneditable. That's hard to accomplish on a rotisserie with the chicken I constantly being turned to allow the fat to be reabsorbed. I left most of the chicken uneaten. Add to it, the service was mediocre. I had iced tea and my companion had water and not once during the entire dining experience did someone come by to offer more iced tea or water refills. I didn't return the macho salad for a new salad because the server never came by to ask, "How's the meal?" I spoke to the manager about what occurred and hopefully they will do a better job next time. The manager wanted to comp our meals and I refused but did agree to have the macho salad charges removed. I gave the server most of the saved money as a tip since the chicken preparation wasn't her fault. Yes, I will return with the hope that this was an unusual night. read more

Ok my wife made us reservations to this place not knowing this was a parent company of Hillstone Restaurant where we usually visit weekly so we opted into having the same meal which was the ruby red trout and got disappointed. Ended up being not as good as the parent restaurant so we were thrown back a little. Fries usually come stacked to the hilt and hot and fresh and that totally did t happen. Went to CCG with 2 local friends. Very busy place. Very dark. Moody. Service was perfect. Menu is very small but they specialize in some great items. Everything we ordered was delicious. We started off with the infamous Grilled Artichokes, and then each had the Braised Ribs, and the Salmon Special. I also ordered a side of Cream Corn for all of us to share, which was perfect. The ribs with mustard bbq sauce were so delicious. Two ribs...crunchy caramelized crust and fork tender. The coleslaw side was possibly the best creamy slaw I've ever had. Small cut...it was almost like risotto! Excellent. Dessert was the only 2 items they offer...Banana Cream Pie and Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich with Chocolate Sauce. Excellent. After reading some of the negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about going- thought I might encounter "snooty" people. Not the case. Our server was a BOSS. My sister has dietary restrictions and he was able to rattle off everything she could and could not eat on the menu- without looking annoyed or missing a beat. Now for the food- yummy. We have been to this restaurant probably 20 times, and always went there to relax and enjoy ourselves. This time, we honestly just wanted to escape the news and have a nice evening. Instead, what we experienced was absolutely horrible. Over the course of two hours, we were cut off after just two martinis -- something that confused not only us, but also the tables on both sides of us. One couple was so disgusted by how we were treated that they left entirely. The most shocking part is that this all seemed to stem from a simple comment the bartender overheard us make: that Charlie Kirk shouldn't have been shot. We don't swing left or right politically, but the bartender clearly had it out for us. The way it was handled felt personal, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. To make matters worse, the service itself was horrific. It took over an hour just to place our order for the main course, and when the food finally came, the chips were soggy and unappetizing. After years of coming here, I still cannot believe how poorly we were treated. We will never be back.
