I can recall seeing Rick hanging out working in one of his booths at the PIB location. Great casual dining room with outside patio seating available by the parking lot. What is good? Just about everything! Chicken Fingers basket with fries and honey mustard. Their honey mustard is so good and compliments their tasty crispy chicken fingers. The award winning chili (made with brewhouse beer) is VERY good and I can see why it's award winning - just need to add hot sauce if you like spicy. Buffalo Chicken Dip with carrots / celery / and what I assume are house made chips - Yummy! Smothered Chicken - this was a favorite of ours YEARS ago. I need to order it again soon. I recall it being a great combination and feels like comfort food. There is only ONE thing we ordered that I would say DO NOT ORDER ... Turkey & Dressing Dinner - I am almost certain I had it years ago when it was good - moist oven roasted turkey. This weeks turkey dinner - such a disappointment. I checked the ToGo box and saw dried out slices of turkey - I asked the manager how it was prepared and probably should have shown her - it can't be the standard of what they serve. It was DRY to begin with then thin sliced and grilled making is extremely dry. The sides however were very good - green beans - so good and the mashed potatoes & gravy plus the dressing was very good. My family has been eating at Rick Tanner's for about 6 years. We have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, on our last few visits we've noticed the "housekeeping" isn't what it should be. Partially cleaned tables, dirty, smeared windows, and even sub par restrooms. There's always plenty of staff, but they're standing around with nothing immediate to do. I'm hoping if others express their concern, the situation can be turned around leading to a more enjoyable experience!! read more

I loved everything I got here! I'm assuming they're associated with Cherry Street Brewing due to the huge sign out front, but that explains the pretty extensive beer menu. They also have a great selection of wine and cocktails as well as sodas if that's not your jam. To start we got the chicken lips. OH MY WORD. Get them. It's like a chicken dip recipe inside an egg roll. For my mail dish I got the smothered and covered chicken with a side of Mac n cheese (because I am a huge Mac n cheese fan and have to try it every where it's available). I really want to give this place a 5 because I have been coming for years but for me the service just goes back and forth. We used to have this one really good waitress but recently we have been disappointed with younger inexperienced servers. We were even told they couldn't serve us food or beer once even though it was an hour till close and the restaurant was full.... Nevertheless we finally went back last night and again, service was just mid. Had to ask to for water and silver ware but otherwise fine. I ordered the Sun is High hazy IPA and per usual the beer never disappoints. For dinner, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese and I really should stick to the classics. The sandwich was kind of hard to bite into but the Mac and cheese was stellar. My family and I used to love this place for dinner and drinks but lately their service hasn't not been worth 5 stars. We came in a Thursday night after 7 and it wasn't that busy inside but they had some people seated outside. We got seated immediately but they did put us at a table near the kitchen with the inside being pretty open which was weird. It took a little while for a waitress to come by and start our order with drinks and they walked by our table several times. Once we ordered our drinks the service turned much better. Our order was placed and our food was brought out fresh and hot. I do hope to come back and give them 5 stars if the service is better. Experience started out great, we had our two small children with us and enjoyed a nice lunch. A group with more than 12 children came in shortly after we started eating. The adults all sat inside and the children (several younger than 5 years old) sat separately on the patio. This was a complete chaotic disaster. The children were running around, no supervision at all, acting like they were at a park. Although this is mostly poor parenting on behalf of the patrons, the restaurant should not have supported this. I was recently invited to check out the new brunch specials at Rick Tanner's/Cherry Street so my mom and I went out for a Galentine's Day brunch yesterday. They currently have a Mardi Gras menu that meets all of your shellfish and boudin sausage desires. They even crafted some unique Mardi Gras cocktails! We tried the NOLA Coffee and the Southern Bellini. The coffee was pretty strong, but it will definitely wake you up (it's coffee with Jameson and whipped cream). I ordered the Southern Bellini for myself, it was sweet and so fun to drink! They also have a Cajun Bloody Mary (which we didn't order) that's topped with a crawfish, it looked incredible. For food, I tried the Boudin Bennie. It's an English muffin topped with avocado spread, boudin sausage, an egg and Cajun hollandaise sauce. The sausage had a little kick to it, which balanced so well with the avocado and egg. This dish was so delicious, I highly recommend trying it! I love the limited time only menus because it offers so many unique dishes you can't find other places. My mom decided to stick with their regular brunch menu and ordered the Cheesy Biscuit Bowl with gravy and sausage. It looked so good!! It's served like a skillet with 2 biscuit slices topped with sausage and gravy, lots of cheese and 2 eggs on top. The entire staff is amazing. Libby was our server, she was the sweetest and was very attentive. Loli was also incredibly kind and friendly. Popped in here to meet up with a friend while visiting from Philadelphia. We like trying local brews when we travel. I hate IPAs and I liked that this place had a hefeweizen on their menu in addition to selling food so we tried it out. First we walked into the taproom next door and realized they don't sell food there, just some light snacks, so we walked over here. My boyfriend and I were seated at a table while we waited for his friend to arrive. A waitress came over with, I am guessing, a trainee waitress and introduced themselves. I knew what I wanted but my boyfriend wasn't quite prepared and the waitress seemed annoyed by that and offered, more snotty than helpful, to get us waters while we figured it out. When she came back a while later, we ordered our beers and the hummus plate to start but we were still waiting for our third and didn't want to order meals yet. About 5-10 minutes later she finally came back with our beers and asked if we were ready to order - GIRL WE ARE WAITING FOR OUR FRIEND. I feel you. I have been a waitress on a Friday night trying to get out and get my own life started but your restaurant is open and I am here trying to give you my money so chill. Not sure why this place gave you a trainee on a Friday night but it's not my problem. Not only that but you're trying to rush me and yet everything I ask you for takes 10 minutes to get back to us so make up your mind. At some point I realized my glass had a crack in it so when the waitress was running by I asked if she could get me a new pour in a different glass. She seemed to slow down after that. I always get a little nervous when I order something off a menu that claims to be "world famous" but nothing else was really speaking to me. When our food arrived, it looked great. The chicken looked extra crispy, and it was. The mac n cheese looked creamy, and it was. But I didn't get a lot of flavor from anything. Texture was on point but where is the seasoning? I put honey mustard on the sandwich and it tasted a little better but still not blowing me away for being world famous. I feel like I have had better fried chicken in Philly. I'm in Georgia eating at a place that claims to have world famous chicken fingers and I am reminiscing about a sandwich I had in Philadelphia - home of cheese steaks and pretzels... that's a little embarrassing. This place has steadily gone down hill. It is officially off my list after over 10 years of coming. You get there at 9:15 pm on Friday night people are being served and you are told they are closing soon and basically they don't want to serve you ! If you get served their food is cold and their fries are always cold ! We hate to say goodbye but if you don't want to serve people please turn your open sign off and move on! First off, I love Rick Tanners and Cherry street! We used to go there all the time and only quit during the pandemic. We have been to several locations but really like the new one near our house. We were actually excited to get their food again. We are both in poor health and thought a curbside pickup was perfect. We got there ten minutes before the scheduled time and parked in the curbside parking place. We waited. And we waited. We waited much longer than the time given by MobileBytes. I could not navigate the stairs so my wife had to go in even though we were directly outside the ToGo door and could see the servers there. The order was just sitting while the staff were chatting. Only four tables were occupied. No apology. No excuses. I checked the food before leaving and it was already cold. When I got home it was a soggy greasy mess. I ate some of it but most of it was thrown away. Maybe I don't understand what curbside means, but at most places it is not confused with ToGo. read more

I heard they had a Buffalo Chicken Wing Salad so went to check it out. Ordered a Cobb Salad with bacon, blue cheese, egg, and tomato. If you love good food with a great atmosphere, Rick Tanners is a winner. It's the place you go when you want a laid back meal with a side of beer. Rick Tanners is located in Vickery Village, right next to Cherry Street Brewery(they are one in the same really). It's a fun place that's always packed, and while you might have to wait a few minutes for a seat they usually have one ready pretty quickly. There is also outside seating which is a great place to people watch, especially on a beautiful day The food is always good and while I wouldn't say this is a 5 star place, because it's just the average sports bar fare, it doesn't seem to ever disappoint. My favorite thing to get is the fish and chips with mac and cheese, it always hits the spot! The pulled pork sandwich is another great choice and my Fiance likes to get one of their rotisserie chicken plates and he always leaves happy and full. They have a great selection for breakfast/brunch too. The last time I went I got the grilled salmon with a side of green beans, I must admit it wasn't my favorite meal at Ricks but it wasn't bad either. Let's not forget the brews! Because they are connected to Cherry Street, they have almost the same selection as their brother shop next door. Good food, surrounded by Cumming's fake rich. This review in no way, shape, nor form should be taken as a dig toward Tanner's. Their food has always been good at any of the other old locations. This one however, has it's caveats. If you are familiar with this area, then you know that nouveau riche folks live nearby, and you should be aware of this because it WILL affect your dining experience or at the very least, your parking experience just trying to get into either Cherry Street Brewing or Rick Tanner's. My advice is to park as far away as possible and walk, because the army of base-model Mercedes and BMW cars will most likely try to kill you, and then justify it by blaming you, the plebe. This appears again inside the restaurant, but at a far less invasive manner. The food at Tanner's is consistently good, and the portions are ample. The service is above average, but not extraordinary, and usually gets the job done enough to feet my fat face with chicken something'rather. The sides are good, and the decor is on-par with any OTP sports bar (think non-company store Taco Macs). It can get loud at this location from one group of sportsball fans trying to overtalk the next and so-on, and so-forth. Just know that if you aren't a sportsball fan and your ask for something other than sportsball, you will be shamed. If not by the wait staff, then by the sportsball father at the table next to you with his Costa sunglasses on his Salt Life visor and Yeti Solo Cup. Be prepared for all sorts of entitlement that a $75,000/yr job gets you. Rick Tanner's establishment is not to blame. read more

Still three stars overall but I'd bump it up just a bit for their serving the micro-brew brew (intentional) to which they're affiliated. Went there within the past few weeks and family had hot wings and chicken fingers. Hot wings had a heavy spice flavor to the heat element which made the sauce and the heat seem separate as opposed to one. The fried chicken fingers, while pretty good chicken-wise had too moist a coating for the fried batter to have any sort of crisp texture. The wings were 20 for $20 which had me wondering, briefly, if I'm in the wrong business. The flight of beer on the other hand was a special at $12 which was slightly more reasonable.
