Charming little diner! Actually much bigger inside than I thought. Lots of booths, plus tables- including two that could hold a group of eight. Plus a tiny counter. I wanted to sit there but there were no open seats. They've got a real honest to goodness jukebox. I was sorely tempted to drop some money into it, but since I was solo on my first visit, obviously not a regular, plus it was Sunday morning, I opted against it. Next time with courage. Service was prompt and food came quickly. Eggs over easy were closer to over medium, alas. But everything was fresh and tasty. Coffee was hot and strong. Refill was offered. I brought my husband back a fried bologna sandwich on Texas toast. He devoured it quickly and said it was excellent. Lots of kitschy decor with a dual theme: Coffee mugs, and the UK Wildcats. Restaurant is attached to (but independent of) a convenience store so there's a good amount of parking. Cash only. I'll return! read more

Food was mediocre at best. The eggs were basic and barely seasoned, the bacon was nothing special, and the biscuits and gravy had very little flavor. Overall the meal was pretty bland and underwhelming. On the bright side it was cheap and the place is cash only, which is inconvenient. Unfortunately not a spot I'd go back to. read more

I am a sucker for local mom and pop restaurants and this is one in Franklin. I love how they support our schools and town. Make sure to get there early they are usually packed with a line. The parking is great plenty and attached go a gas station. The menu is large and offers breakfast and lunch. I love the soup beans. The boys had a great breakfast prior to kicking off there baseball season with plenty of packages and sausage if you do decide to eat here no it's super cheap.prices buy great quality of food and they only take cash read more

I found out about Mom's when Mom visited our deli. Mom's Restaurant turned out to be exactly what I had been looking for sinceiving to Ohio 10 years ago. I absolutely loved the soup beans and cornbread. The kids had a Mickey Mouse pancake and French toast. Everybody lives it!! I can't wait to get back and try the omelettes. Mom is super nice, she gave the grandkids two pieces of gum for giving her a hug. I'm definitely going to make this a frequent dining option. read more

We enjoy getting breakfast at Mom's Restaurant. The biscuit and gravy with bacon is my go to. The restaurant can be busy which is great for them. We use to wait to be seated until we realized other customers would walk right in front of us and sit down. We asked if we needed to wait to be seated because we always had and we were told if there is a table open to go ahead and have a seat. So keep an eye out! The service is pretty fast and the staff is good about coming around to check on you. We always enjoy seeing the woman with the beautiful white hair that is always wearing some sort of sparkles and fancy boots. I'm assuming that's "mom". She traded mom son a piece of gum for a hug one time. That made us laugh for days. read more

Had breakfast this morning at this delightful little place. Entrance is a door on the left inside the main entrance to the Marathon station. Mom is in her 80's now, but she still is there on a regular basis. And she is a BIG Kentucky fan--UK memorabilia all over the place. And they have a coffee cup collection all over the walls and ceiling--over 1200 altogether. If you think you have a unique one, bring it in. I had the half order of biscuits and gravy and eggs--WOW--can only imagine how big the regular order is. You get a lot of bang for the buck here, more than any place I know of. They had a big selection of homemade pies listed on their board, so I got a couple pieces to go. Service was very friendly and attentive. Great hometown ambiance. Still like Mom's it's a local favorite for breakfast especially. It's in the Marathon gas station and I tell you even going to the Marathon gas station it's easy to miss right as you walk in the door there's a wood door to the left. Go to the Cafe go through that wouldn't door it's easy to miss. Places very warm inside so if you're menopause or hot blooded keep that in mind when you dress. They only accept cash I repeat they only accept cash. I do have signs right as you go in but several people including the ones I was with did not notice them. Sometimes parking is an issue there is parking over to the side but when it's cold I wish they had more parking closer to the door. Staff is good the food is good especially if you like home cooking. They do lunch and dinner but they have limited hours. Still pretty much just go there for breakfast. Not to be offensive but most of the people that go there older people. A friend and I went here for an intended lunch. When we drove up we saw it was connected to a gas station. No big deal. I hadn't known what to expect. We went in and were pleasantly surprised. We also discovered they served breakfast and lunch and we both ordered a breakfast meal. I had the pancakes and sausage patties which were fluffy and delicious and very filling. My friend had the biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs. She had all of hers as well. All in all it was a very nice meal at a very reasonable cost. I would recommend this restaurant again. But keep in mind I think they close at 2pm. read more

Passing through & saw this place right down the road from the Pilot Truck Stop. So, checked out the Yelp reviews & thought I'd give it a shot. Glad I did. "Mom" greeted me, sat me, grabbed my drink, & took my order. She's been doing this for over 40 years! But I'll have to admit that service was slow. That's why "Mom" jumped in & helped me out. My breakfast was really good. Mom's is known for her gravy. But I wasn't a huge fan of it. I like a really good sausage gravy. Anyways, loved my visit & look forward to going back when I'm passing through. But you better get their early because they close shortly after lunch. Also, CASH ONLY! read more

I honestly feel like 2 stars is generous but our waitress was very sweet so gotta give something. It's cash only which you'd think would make prices lower but nope. I ordered a blt which was about $5 for just your sandwich and it was embarrassingly small and just not good. Bacon over cooked, tomato on the orange side, & the Mayo was funky (kind of Miracle whip like). I ordered a side of fried cauliflower and requested cocktail sauce. I was brought out a packet of something that said it was cocktail sauce but looked like it had been dug out from behind the fridge. The hubs ordered the Mom's breakfast special and again, not impressed. The image showed sausage links, he got dried out patties. The only thing he slightly enjoyed were the biscuits. It seems like a local joint with lots of loyal followers so it should be fine without a return visit from us. read more

Bypass this place food is cold .have eaten at mom before year ago .this time biscuit and gravy cold think grease gravy thin no sausage. The biscuit out of a can .food was cold .the atmosphere is very uncomfortable if you don't support a certain person. Cash only knew that.but the food just terrible. Pros: Really a nice atmosphere and a very friendly waitress. Food is reasonably priced. Cons: Known for their homemade cooking. Really? The crinkled fries were store bought and they put cold slices of processed cheese on top of the omelette. Known for their biscuits but mine were as dry as the Sahara. Not that it wasn't inedible I just wish it was not cooked as long. Pretty good portion of french fries coleslaw seems like it was standard food service coleslaw. Although I'm not drinking anymore they did have a whole boatload of Bourbons which in my younger days I probably would have tested quite a few of them so their name is true to the inventory. Music was a tad loud I kind of wish they had the ami jukebox where you can take it over and play your music either that or put the baseball game on something like that. Only reason for four stars was the overcooked chicken tenders. Decent place.

The only negative is they served the pitas in a brown paper lunch bag. The bag was not food safe since the bag was made from recycled materials. Usually places will wrap the pitas in aluminum foil or a sandwich bag, or put it on top of your food. We ended up not eating the pitas. I'm sure they tasted good since everything else did. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the place!

The wings were pretty big and perfectly cooked as well. For dessert we had bread pudding which was served with ice cream and was super tasty. The restaurant was beautiful and since it was a nice day outside we sat out on the porch for our lunch. The service was top notch as well. This was an awesome lunch experience and I definitely intend to make the trek to come back here.

Upon check in, the hostess informed me it would be about a 20 min wait. No big deal. Within 15 mins or less I'd say our pager went off and we were shown our table. 2. Food * Starter: Mozzarella sticks * Entree: Ribeye (advertised as house special) * Entree: Filet Mignon * Sides: Fries, Baked Potato and included salad bar Starter was above average, hot and freshly made, good structure. Mozzarella sticks seem hard to mess up but honestly, it happens. Our server did mention that marinara was unavailable (not sure if that day or in general) Ribeye: Ordered medium rare, came out medium to medium well. Taste was mediocre at best, more grill grate less ribeye flavor. Out of 10, I would say 4/10. Filet Mignon: Expectations were high but a huge miss. Ordered medium, came medium. Flavor was far below expectations for this cut of meat. My wife described this as "dog food flavor." For the price ($39) this was disappointing. Sides: Sides were average. Fries were pretty standard, comparable to frozen fries that you'd throw in your air fryer at home. Baked potato was good (thankfully). Salad bar is included with dinner. Basic green mix with a basic offering of toppings. I would say everything was replenished when needed. 3. Service * Staff was average to friendly, from hostess to server. Average attentiveness and came to the table probably 3-4 times during service. One item to note: kitchen window/bar prep area is very close to salad bar. While at the salad bar, a group of servers were all chatting and talking about the customers they had currently or earlier in the shift. One server had a table she strongly disliked, and had no problem making that known amongst her peers. I understand back of house conversations happen, but in close proximity to customers seemed in poor taste. I left wondering what was being said if anything about us after we departed. TL;DR: if you're gonna talk shit about customers, try not to do it around your current ones. 4. Atmosphere * The location is wonderful. Quiet country charm with a distant scenic overlook of the spillway itself. It's a beautiful spot and the grounds are well maintained. Other reviews mentioned the interior as dated, my impression was it's very old style steakhouse/lodge inspired. It could use some updates sure, but I didn't think it was the focus of the night. 5. Overall value * Was it worth the price? No. One starter, two entrees and one domestic beer brought the bill to $97 before tip. A decent meal can be had for less with far superior food. I think the impression I walked away with is that this place has so much potential, and may have been great at one time but standards have since slipped. The location and feel was great, but the reason people come and want to come back is the food, and that left much to be desired. 6. Recommendation * Would you return? Likely no, this was a one and done in my book. Unless something changed and they revitalized their menu and or kitchen strategy. I never say never, but we left feeling mildly satisfied with about $100 less than we walked in with.

Mr B's has spicy brown mustard available and make sure you ask for some to dip those soft and salty buckeye pretzel bites! Try it and thank me later. Service was excellent from being greeted, getting questions answered, to being checked on and finally having our leftovers boxed up. There are a number of large screen TVs but not an excessive number.
