He got back to me quickly, and was able to squeeze us in during what I am sure was a very busy week for him considering the large snowstorm that happened, and for that I'm very thankful. He was able to come out and repair the snowblower and was very reasonably priced when compared to other local repair shops, plus we did not have to transport our very large snowblower since he was able to fix it right in our backyard. I have a snowblower that is too large to transport to a repair place. Sam does house calls. I've used him twice. The first time was probably 5 years ago. Snowblower wouldn't start up and he came to my house and got it started. Then there was about a 3 year period where there wasn't significant snow fall in Queens, NY so my snow blower sat and this year we've gotten 2 snowfalls already that weren't back breaking but significant enough that the snow blower would have been usable. Had Cherrywood saved in my phone. Was excited when the voicemail said Cherrywood and Sam called me back. He fixed the problem again, made height adjustments for me, filled the tires with air and told me to order a part (scraper bar) that has worn down so much that it could damage the bottom of the snowblower. He told me he can come back and install it and told me how to do it if I decide to install it myself. Real good guy. Honest and reasonable prices. read more

If you need a snowblower repaired, this guy has an encyclopedic knowledge of snowblowers and lawn mowers. Why the chinese engines struggle with our ethanol blend, how to modify them so that they run properly, how to drain the fuel that's gone bad in the carburetor so you can start your engine after a long winter. And he travels to you, because who in the city has a car big enough to haul around a snowblower? 5 stars, would definitely work with again. read more

Sam came over in his van and repaired my pressure washer curbside. It was a bear of a job because i ran it without a hose on and burned up the pump and melted it onto the engine crankshaft. Anyone else would have given up. Sam did suggest it might be better to buy a new one, but I'd rather see things fixed than end up in a landfill. Sam's experience taught him, as a last resort, he could cut off the old frozen pump with an angle grinder, which he did. No easy task but he got the job done! This guy can probably fix anything! Reasonable fair price made it cost effective too. I highly recommend. read more

I called Sam regarding my snowblower on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Thursday. I was worried because I had somewhere to be by a certain time and was trying to re-schedule, but he never returned my calls. He did call that morning at least and came when he said he would. I told him I had to leave in 1.5 hrs. He cut it pretty close (I was rushing a bit ti get ready and left a little later then I wanted to), but he emptied the gas tank, cleaned the carburetor and got everything up and running. He even checked all the parts, disposed of the old gas, lubed up some rusty parts and inflated the tires. He also described certain parts of the snowblower and how to maintain it at the end of seasons. I felt like that was a lot to pack into the allotted time so I wasn't mad about him going a little over. What I received and at the rate he charged I thought it was more then adequate.
