The food here is good, but not my favorite breakfast in Brighton. The portions are HUGE so definitely come hungry. I like that they offer egg whites as an alternative for many of their dishes. I had the Greek Skillet, which was delicious. My hubs had the Meat Lovers Skillet and he said it was "ok." Pretty traditional breakfast choices and average diner coffee. I would love to see a few creative options added to the menu. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted - nothing really stood out. To be fair, I think I ordered wrong. Not knowing better I thought that the Eggs Benedict would be a good choice but I had buyer's remorse once it arrived. It looked OK but I think something more straight forward in the line of diner fare would've been the way to go here. To start, the hollandaise was gelatinous and not so creamy-smooth, without any of the savory or lemony flavor I look for. The English Muffin wasn't really toasted as much as it was warmed through too. I will give them points for stacking a nice amount of good ham on each muffin though. The eggs were cooked properly too. I appreciate good egg cookery! My hashbrowns were a little less browned but next time I'll ask for them well done. On another positive, my wife ordered the cinnamon roll french toast with a side of sausage patties and loved it. I had a few bites and I thought it was fantastic too. I liked that they smash the sausage down into a thin patty to get a nice griddled crust on it. Overall a good breakfast joint.The coffee was pretty standard and the service was good. Cheryl's is worth a try and we'll be back to try more of the menu. read more

Like many people, I have one dish I always seek out and order as often as possible ... Eggs Benedict. And really, I think this breakfast favorite is falling off menus everyday which makes me sad. BUT alas, I think I just found the most PERFECT Eggs Benny in the entire world at Cheryl's Place in Brighton, MI. I ordered my poached eggs medium, and crazy, they came out medium...never happens, usually I get too runny. And instead of bland Canadian Bacon, they use excellent, high quality, local Dearborn Ham. YUM. And oh, that hollandaise sauce...perfection too. Home fries were very good, but I would ask fir crunchy next visit for a complete score of 10/10. read more

We have been to Cheryl's Place twice for breakfast. It is an average diner style restaurant with traditional breakfast offerings. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly and my husband's french toast was average diner style with texas toast sized bread. The service is friendly and quick. It seems to be busy on weekend mornings but it does have ample seating so we have never encountered a long wait. During this most recent visit, we were dealing with the COVID sistatuon and all staff here seemed to be taking it seriously with masks, hand sanitizer throughout the dining area, etc... read more

The food here is outstanding! I had one of the skillets and it was more than I could eat. The portion size, variety and quick service was great. Despite the place being packed, we were seated and had our order taken within 3 or 4 minutes. When we ordered, we had our food within 5 minutes. The ambiance is family oriented and they have some incredible photography from a local artist on the walls. It's the perfect laid back family place to eat in town. It was just OK, nothing spectacular. We travelled about an hour to this restaurant because we saw the story about it that was on FOX 2 about a month or so prior. Was excited, but the food...bland. There was 4 of us and all 4 of our meals were bland hardly any taste. The wait staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly and hot. However there were 2 long brown strands of hair on 2 plates. We have been going to Cheryl's Place for 10+ years. The food is good, however it is intermittent. I think it depends who is in the kitchen. Also, sometimes we are in and out quickly and other days we are there forever. The tables are too close in there and even during covid it was too crowded. They kept all the tables in there to make a buck. It's extremely loud and there is no elbow room. Take a few tables out so people can be comfortable. The Breakfast Club is closed temporarily and this is why this restaurant is so full. Once The Breakfast Club opens Cheryl's Place will be empty again. read more

We stopped here on our drive back to the West side of the state and I'm so glad we found this little gem. This place is adorable, from the decor to the kids pancakes. Our server was very sweet and accommodating to our toddler. All of our food was tasty and came out quickly. I definitely recommend the cinnamon roll French toast - it was amazing. I was told this was THE place to go for breakfast, and it is indeed a spectacle to behold. The one downside is that it is actually difficult to get in (but that's not specifically why the -1 star). It was quite the wait to get in and when we were seated it was very very cramp (where the servers sometimes had to struggle to get around customers). The place has been around for a while and is very proud of their record of being the #1 breakfast place in their area and I can see why. The food is quite good. They have a decent sized menu and their proportions are generous. In fact, we couldn't fit everything on our table for 5 with 5 people so we had to put our food on the windowsill behind us. The servers were quirky, and overall was a good experience. I don't know if they do anything other than breakfast, but the breakfast was pretty good. So if you're looking for a traditional style breakfast, I'd recommend it. read more

Had breakfast here on a July '22 Sunday morning, we expected it to be busy and it was. Place is extremely noisy and seems like everyone is shouting, granted this is not a fine dining restaurant but the noise level was annoying. Also the tables are jammed into the space to provide for maximum seating capacity, not customer comfort. Food was okay at best, however large portions. The American Fries, a breakfast staple in our opinion, needed a little seasoning and more time on the flattop griddle to provide some crunch. We stopped by Cheryl's Place for the first time on Mother's Day with a group of 6 based on other reviews of this great breakfast establishment. When we arrived, the line was out the door and I figured that we had at least a 45 min wait. Much to my surprise the wait was only about 15 minutes as they were well organized and were seating people as the right size tables opened up. The food was excellent! Our group tasted cinnamon roll french toast, pancakes (as big as your face), eggs, bacon, sausage and we were not disappointed! I am not reviewing the food at all, because I didn't have a chance to eat it. The majority of this review is mainly about the management and the way they handle their relationships with customers. To make a long story short, I got married 11-7-15. Our wedding reserved a large wedding block of rooms at the Marriott in Brighton. It seemed natural that we would have a breakfast for everyone who stayed at the hotel at a highly rated, local Brighton establishment. I called in June to discuss with Maria, the owner, to figure out how we could work this with about 25-35 people staying at the hotel. We decided on a 10am breakfast time for all of the people who were staying in our hotel block. I called back in September and in October to confirm that the plans were still on. Every time she confirmed that we were good to go. I called one last time on the day before the wedding, and Maria asked if we could adjust our time to 9:30am since 10am is usually when they get hit hard with a breakfast rush. I thought it was strange that she would tell me this only after I called to confirm, again. Why not call me and ask me ahead of time? Oh well, we rolled with the punches. Sunday morning arrives, and our group of 27 roll up to Cheryl's. I walk in and Maria says they cannot serve us. She said that we were not there at 8:45 like we agreed on. Wait, what?!?? 8:45?!? NEVER once was 8:45 even discussed between us. I would NEVER have expected our guests to stay up until 2 at our wedding and then wake up for an 8:45am breakfast. We would have just changed our plans. Maria just kept saying that they couldn't serve us. Overall, it was terrible business. She didn't even try to accommodate us. She didn't offer even an apology. It was a low note in our wedding weekend. Frankly, it was embarrassing to us as the bride & groom. As the groom, I vow that I will NEVER give my patronage to this place if I'm ever in Brighton. Be leery of Maria and her management team. They can't be trusted. read more
