Do not hire this company! They will come to your house, do a quick inspection, and you'll never be able to get ahold of them for a follow up. AHS hired them to come to my house on January 20th and they never submitted the report to AHS to complete the repairs. They will not answer their phone, messages, or emails. They have an "F" rating with the BBB. If you look at the comments on Google, everyone says the same thing. Don't waste your time or money. The owner of the business should just shut it down. Communication was horrible. I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment and then when Brian finally came out. He told me my fridge and stove were easy to fix and he would order the parts. That once the parts were ordered it would take a week to receive. Guess what, that was lie. He never ordered the parts and told my warranty company there was no issue. It was almost a month after he first came out and now I have to start the process all over again. If my stove was working, why did he unplug it so it wouldn't come back on randomly. I had the same experience as others. The organization is inexperienced and aims to collect service call fees rather than complete repairs. In one case they misrepresented a diagnosis and suggested an appliance was inaccessible when it was freely accessible. Together this raises questions about their honesty. please please do not hire this company. They were sent by AHS to service my oven and my frige and all they did is spent 5 minutes said it needs parts then they disappeared. I called AHS they said they nevere got the report from chesepeak appliance repair and they told me they still can't reach them for the past 15 days. What is funny is they were able to reach them quick when they originally sent them to my house but they can't reach them to get the report. AHS have been getting simillar complaints about this contractor for over a year(see reviews) but they still use them. I say they are both on the game scuming customers. IF there is a zero star, this would be my rating. They were send out by Old Republic Home Warranty to service our washer and dryer. First thing they did is charge the $125 even before they arrived for service. The tech arrived and troubleshoot both items and told us the parts have worn out and he is working with ORHW to order replacement part. Little did we know that the ticket was marked as closed and we waited for weeks and kept calling the Tech to check on status with no avail. Never returned a single call after they took the service charges. We contacted ORHW and they were having issue getting in contact with with them as well. IT was after 5 weeks that ORHW told us the Tech told them the issue was not normal wear and tear, so it's not cover. I highly advice in purchasing any thing from both of these companies. read more

If I could give this company ZERO stars, I would. They are sent out as a vendor from American Home Shield. The initial assessment is done, but then you NEVER hear from them again. There was never a follow up report to AHS nor did they order parts for our range hood like they said they were going to do. Chesapeake Appliance Repair will NOT answer the phone from AHS or myself, and it will take GREAT efforts to get AHS to transfer you to a NEW vendor. Horrible Service...this company was contracted through American Home Shield (WHICH IS ALSO HORRIBLE)! Although they were the second company called and should've done a their own diagnostic, the technician didn't do a analysis an concluded that my refrigerator (at least the compressor) is still under warranty with Sears (which is correct). My issues with Chesapeake Appliances are: the following: 1. Bad Communication: I NEVER spoke to a live person when the number was called and to my knowledge AHS also never spoke to a person. Voicemails were left repeatedly and returned calls we not always returned. 2. Incompetence: The technician (Bryan) was knowledgeable about the processing of my claim and the logistics with AHS, but I wish that same energy was directed to fully diagnose my problem with the refrigerator 3. Timeliness In Providing Updates: After the initial 3/3 appointment and several phone calls from AHS, AHS has eventually informed me that this company finally relayed pertinent warranty information to move my claim forward. The also prematurely and incorrectly marked my work order as complete even though my refrigerator was never serviced I'm aware that AHS has complicated this matter with their slow customer service and uninformed representatives, but Chesapeake Appliances has compounded the problem with their inadequacies. My initial claim with AHS was placed 2/24 and on 3/22...I still do not have resolution from AHS on how my repair will be resolved. In either case, I happy to not have Chesapeake Appliances do the repair. read more

American Home Shield contracts out this vendor , Chesapeake Appliance for repairs. I have sense canceled my contract as well as my service request with this vendor. I have an issue with my refrigerator and thought I would try one last ditch effort to use my warranty that I have paid for many years. I wasted my time, because they sent this supposed to be Pro. To diagnose my problem this guy Brian walked in my door, up my stairs opened the fridge and said you need a new fan. that was his only diagnosis and walked out the door. when asked questions he was arrogant and not helpful. I personally am going to write a review about AHS as well, because this guy has terrible reviews and an F on the BB rating. not sure how or why a comp would ever send this company to anyones home. They came in looked at the fridge and said I could be a circuit board and will submit it through the warranty company. A week later they still did not submit it. They came out in September 2021 to look at our dishwasher and said a part needed to be ordered and then we never heard anything again. Clown er... tech came to my house for a freezer that wasn't freezing and ice maker not producing ice. This mental giant opens the freezer door and says "well it seems like it's cold, nothing I can do. Call a plumber for the icemaker." He was extremely rude and condescending to my wife, was on-site for 10 minutes and didn't fix anything. Never did any diagnostics, never checked anything aside from opening the freezer door. Didn't even run a temp probe in the freezer to see how "cold" cold was. I did and the freezer temp was 35 degrees. He leaves and then informs AHS that the ticket is closed! If you have AHS and this outfit is dispatched, IMMEDIATELY get someone else. These bottom feeders are just taking insurance deductibles and skating. read more

Showed up, declared my leaking refrigerator needed a new valve, "ordered it,' told me it would be here in 7-10 days, left the water connected to the refrigerator, and it continued to leak for a month while I called American Home Shield and begged for help. Finally cancelled both. AHS and Chesapeake Appliance Repair can both bite me. read more

A called a month after that and a month after that. 4 months later, they have never returned my calls or my home warranty's AHS's calls. We never heard back from them and they haven't answered the phone in 6 weeks. Needless to say our dishwasher still isn't fixed and American home shield can't even get in touch with them. Chesapeake Home Appliance and American Home Shield (AHS) doesn't even deserve one star. They are both awful! I've been a customer with AHS for a number of years and EVERY time, I put in a claim, I have issues. I've finally had enough! Diagnosis: My dryer was not drying my cloths or shutting off. I put in a request for service. Chesapeake Home Appliance was assigned as the contractor. I was given a four hour window for service 11 am - 3 pm. For a working family, a four hour window in the middle of the day is not ideal. I sucked it up and took the day the day off work. I was told the dryer needed a new sensor and heating element. I was told these parts needed to be ordered. I was told it would be 5 business days. At 5 business days, I called Chesapeake about the parts. Their story changed and they said it took 5-7 for parts. Ten days later they called and said the parts were in. Chesapeake had no sense of urgency in getting these parts or keeping me in the loop as to why there was a delay. I also thought it was strange that they don't keep parts in stock. A heating element and sensor are not uncommon items needing to be replaced on dryers. Also, ten days to get parts is crazy. Parts Installation: I got another 11am-3pm window for service. This time my husband took off work. The same technician arrived. He started to work on the dryer and told my husband, he could not continue as my dryer does not have a flexible gas line. The technician did not want to continue as he was afraid he would compromise the piped in line. I understand the safety aspect and why he didn't want to continue. What was upsetting is had he thoroughly troubleshooted during his first visit, he would have seen that the dryer did not have a flex line, which would have given me the opportunity to remedy the situation while I waited for parts. To be fair the technician did take accountability. He tried to call American Home Shield, but upon reaching them, he was told we had to call. My husband did just that and sat on hold for over an hour. Because this was a unique situation he did not want to put a service request in online. When he finally did speak with someone, they dispatched a plumber charging us the $75 fee. The plumber called right away to set up an appointment. Upon asking my husband for a description of the work that needed to be completed, my husband was told that they didn't think AHS would cover the work, because the line was not technically damaged. My husband called AMS back, sat on the phone another hour to request a refund of our $75. I was able to get a flex line installed. We called Chesapeake Home Appliance to reschedule installation. This time we were fortunate enough to reach someone, but we were told they would call us back. We never received a call back. I tried to call them again and got their answering service. Now it's three weeks into the initial diagnosis, two days off work and still no working dryer. I called AHS and requested another company come out to install the parts. Chesapeake Home Appliance is awful. They have unskilled technicians, poor customer service and absolutely no sense of urgency. I see from other Yelp reviews that I'm not the only causality of this awful company. read more

Oh please I have a 73 year old stroke survivor and myself who knows nothing about a dryer. Who in their right mind would pull wiring out??? What a totally bs company. AHS assigned this repair company to fix my refrigerator. After 2 visits for a total of 10 minutes the tech said it was a plumbing problem. The plumber came out and actually did a better diagnosis job and said it was definitely the refrigerator. So, thank you for not returning my calls when I tried to have you come out a third time to fix the refrigerator. Another appliance repair establishment sent someone that actually fixed the problem with my refrigerator. read more

They never called to schedule an appointment, just showed up one day when nobody was home, didn't fix anything and marked that the job was completed. We've been trying to recall them for 11 days and no response. Their telephone number goes directly to voicemail, and the mailbox is full, so you can't even leave a message. Absolutely terrible. My dishwasher stopped draining and American Home Shield scheduled Chesapeake Appliance Repair. They scheduled an appointment for five days later. Technician arrived, asked one question, turned it on and off and said oh it needs a pump that I have to order. He was rude and abrupt. When I called them 10 days later they said AHS had denied the part. Contacted AGS, they said that was not true. Each time I called AHS they put me on hold and tried to reach Chesapeake but call never answered. AHS sent second company. They spent 15 minutes working on the dishwasher and then said it needed a pump which they would have in two days. They get one star for showing up promptly after being assigned to fix my problem by my home service company. After that they disappeared despite saying they would follow up. I called them probably 20 times and they answered once. This dragged on for 45 days until, finally, the home service company decided to replace my appliance. So I'm not too happy with the service company either since they never would connect me with someone who could make a decision until I accidentally stumbled on a number that had the answer. read more

The repairman replaced a part on my washer (Thursday), but did not verify that the washer was indeed repaired before leaving; washer still not working. I tried to call back...no answer. Left a message and called back multiple time...no return call. American Home Shield also called and still no answer. Called back multiple times on Friday and left a message...no return call. Today is Saturday and still nothing. I can deal with the mistake of not checking to make sure the washer worked; that's a human mistake. The issue is them not answering the phone and not returning phone calls after I have paid! How do you not return phone calls??? After seeing all of the other bad reviews, I get it. read more

Brian the owner, came on an AHS warranty service call on my refrigerator not keeping cold and rising temperature. First thing he does is use my bathroom, leaves the lid up and there were drops on bowl and floor, gross! I had to clean it up after he left. Stop at McDonald's on your way here first and relive yourself!!Then he immediately takes off the plastic, front bottom refrigerator grill and says, there is too much dust down here, that is the problem, do you have a vacuum. So he spend 40 seconds vacuuming, says problem is fixed. I said the motor, fan consistently surges on and off and temp is way high. He says it will cool down give it a day. Next day, it is now 70 degrees in my fridge, doesn't work, left him numerous voicemails over past few days, no calls returned. Had to throw lots of food out. He is a liar and scammer, just as everyone else says, do not use or trust him, period. 4 days later, still, no working fridge or calls returned. read more
